QUESTIONNAIRE
RIGHT TO LIFE
Human life begins at conception and deserves legal protection at every stage until natural death.
Strongly Agree
Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive taxpayer funds or grants from federal, state, or local governments.
Strongly Agree
I support the Born Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act, which requires health care providers to provide life-saving treatment for infants who survive an attempted abortion.
Strongly Agree
Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?
None. When a mother's life is in immediate danger you would triage. For example, in the case of an ectopic pregnancy where there is no other option to treat the mother and child then it would not be considered an abortion. Each situation is going to be different.
RELIGIOUS LIBERTY
Governments should not discriminate against individuals, organizations or small businesses because of their belief that marriage is only a union of one man and one woman.
Strongly Agree
Governments should define marriage as between one man and one woman; no other definition of marriage should be legalized or supported with taxpayer or public funds.
Disagree
Religious liberty is at risk in the United States and deserves the highest level of protection in the law.
Strongly Agree
I promise to protect the freedom of Christians to share the Gospel and to practice Biblical principles.
Yes
What does "separation of church and state" mean to you?
Thomas Jefferson coined the term in a letter to the Danbury Baptists who were concerned that they would be discriminated against, saying, "the legislature should “make no law respecting an establishment of religion or prohibiting the free exercise thereof,” thus building a wall of separation between Church and State." He meant there is a one-way wall of separation. The state can't interfere with the church, but the church can, and must have an influence on the state.
NATIONAL SECURITY
The best way to maintain peace is through a strong military.
Agree
HEALTHCARE
It is the government’s responsibility to ensure everyone has health insurance.
Strongly Disagree
How would you promote healthcare coverage that is adequate, affordable and accessible for all?
I would like to allow Oklahomans the ability to buy insurance from out of state to break up in-state insurance monopolies.
ECONOMY
It is the government’s responsibility to ensure everyone has a livable income.
Strongly Disagree
Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.
Strongly Agree
What government spending would you reduce in order to balance the budget?
I would like to see all state agencies and spending inspected. Doing so would allow us to determine what is necessary and what we can trim or change.
IMMIGRATION
I am in favor of construction of a wall and other necessary infrastructure on our border that gives complete control over entering and exiting the United States.
Strongly Agree
State and federal funds should be denied to any public or private entity, including but not limited to sanctuary cities, that are not in compliance with immigration laws.
Strongly Agree
Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?
We should be allowing immigrants with the skills that we need in our country, and work at being better at enforcing the current immigration laws we have.
EDUCATION
Taxpayer-funded public education should be guaranteed through college.
Strongly Disagree
CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY
Mandatory minimum sentencing should be required and enforced for violent crimes.
Strongly Agree
2ND AMENDMENT
Should teachers be allowed to carry guns at school?
Yes
What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?
Felons owning guns is already against the law so no further gun control legislation is needed.
OTHER IMPORTANT ISSUES
People should be able to vote without photo identification.
Disagree
I support the legalization of recreational marijuana.
Neutral
The Electoral College should be abolished.
Strongly Disagree
In priority order, what three areas of legislation do you propose to author or sponsor if elected?
1. Eliminate the state income tax, which will make Oklahoma more competitive with Texas, Florida, and other states with no income tax. 2. Expand school choice. Allow more Oklahomans to have access to tax credit scholarships. Also increase this tax credit from 50% to 100%. 3. Rural Healthcare and Broadband access. Many rural Oklahomans are finding it harder and harder to obtain high-speed internet and access to healthcare.
Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?
The mainstream media loves to blast their narratives on the news and claim that many white Americans are racist, which simply is not true. Do I think racism is still alive today? Yes because many people's hearts are not changed easily, but I do not think racism is a threat to domestic security.
JUDICIAL PHILOSOPHY
I support the use of Sharia law as a basis for legislation and judicial decisions in the United States.
Strongly Disagree
ABOUT YOU
When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and immigration, which of the following best describes you overall?
Conservative
Please provide publicly available information validating your answer to the previous question.
I have been a conservative voice on college campuses through Young Americans for Liberty. Info showing this can be found at https://yaliberty.org/members/taylor-woodrum
What education or experience qualifies you to hold the office for which you seek election?
I am currently finishing my B.S. in Political Science at Oklahoma State -Tulsa. Before attending OSU I was studying at The University of Tulsa, where I started a chapter of Young Americans for Liberty, which is an activist organization focused on promoting liberty and liberty-minded candidates. After a semester of that, they asked me to be an Oklahoma Recruitment Director where I helped spread liberty on college campuses around Oklahoma! While attending college and doing these other things I have also had a job at Best Buy, where I am now a full-time SWAT inventory lead. In this position, I am tasked with managing inventory counts, finding and fixing inventory discrepancies, and doing daily cycle counts. I believe that with my educational background and immense work ethic I will be a major conservative voice for District 70 at the capitol.
