QUESTIONNAIRE
RIGHT TO LIFE
Human life begins at conception and deserves legal protection at every stage until natural death.
Agree
Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive taxpayer funds or grants from federal, state, or local governments.
Strongly Agree
I support the Born Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act, which requires health care providers to provide life-saving treatment for infants who survive an attempted abortion.
Strongly Agree
If the U.S. Supreme Court overturns Roe v. Wade, North Carolina should repeal its law allowing abortion up to 20 weeks of pregnancy.
No Answer
Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?
First of all, "allowed" sounds really oppressive. Government should have no say in personal decisions, and should not be involved at all. A lot of Libertarians believe that abortion is a violation of the Non Aggression Principle, so therefore it is immoral. The government needs to stay completely out of this. We need to defund any and all personal medical procedures that are currently being paid for by the taxpayers. Most people do not consent, and would rather keep that money they earned.
RELIGIOUS LIBERTY
Governments should not discriminate against individuals, organizations or small businesses because of their belief that marriage is only a union of one man and one woman.
No Answer
Governments should define marriage as between one man and one woman; no other definition of marriage should be legalized or supported with taxpayer or public funds.
No Answer
Religious liberty is at risk in the United States and deserves the highest level of protection in the law.
Strongly Agree
I promise to protect the freedom of Christians to share the Gospel and to practice Biblical principles.
Yes
What does "separation of church and state" mean to you?
It means just that--government has ZERO say in anything it does, as long as it's peaceful. I believe in "separation of personal life and state" as well. I do NOT believe in a political system in which the state has substantial centralized control over social, spiritual, and economic affairs.
NATIONAL SECURITY
The best way to maintain peace is through a strong military.
No Answer
HEALTHCARE
It is the government’s responsibility to ensure everyone has health insurance.
Strongly Disagree
How would you promote healthcare coverage that is adequate, affordable and accessible for all?
I don't believe the government should be involved in the medical and healthcare industry. It's really that simple! The free market would lower prices and create better opportunities and better services.
ECONOMY
It is the government’s responsibility to ensure everyone has a livable income.
Strongly Disagree
Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.
Strongly Agree
IMMIGRATION
I am in favor of construction of a wall and other necessary infrastructure on our border that gives complete control over entering and exiting the United States.
Strongly Disagree
State, sheriff and local law enforcement agencies should be required to participate in the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) 287(g) Program to enhance the safety and security of their communities to identify and detain aliens.
Strongly Disagree
Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?
Anyone. We desperately need to reform our immigration system to make it easier and less expensive. The process can be made so much simpler if we put our creative minds together and make it work better.
EDUCATION
Taxpayer-funded public education should be guaranteed through college.
Strongly Disagree
2ND AMENDMENT
Should teachers be allowed to carry guns at school?
Yes
What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?
ZERO. The public should be able to protect themselves with guns without restrictions.
OTHER IMPORTANT ISSUES
People should be able to vote without photo identification.
No Answer
I support the legalization of recreational marijuana.
Strongly Agree
The Electoral College should be abolished.
No Answer
In priority order, what three areas of legislation do you propose to author or sponsor if elected?
1). School Choice 2). Housing Affordability 3). Privatizing the ABC System
JUDICIAL PHILOSOPHY
I support the use of Sharia law as a basis for legislation and judicial decisions in the United States.
Strongly Disagree
ABOUT YOU
When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and immigration, which of the following best describes you overall?
Moderate
Please provide publicly available information validating your answer to the previous question.
I'm a moderate because I don't believe that a church or government should dictate how someone should live their lives. That decision is between the person and almighty God. Our job as humans is to be friends with people and love them unconditionally. Too often, Republicans and Democrats have infringed on our civil liberties, because they didn't agree with "this or that." We cannot legislate morality. If there is not a vicim involved, there is no crime. We don't always have to agree with someones lifestyle, but we should NOT create fake laws to prevent someone from living that life. We should be minding our own business.
What education or experience qualifies you to hold the office for which you seek election?
I'm currently the Vice Chair of the Libertarian Party of Wake County, and I have been involved in the political arena for many years. My best answer to this question is, "ask my closest friends." I became a Libertarian because of the moral failings of the two-party system that has dissolved our freedoms and liberties. I'm running to help restore our peace, prosperity and freedom. I'm running to help people, and not hurt them by raising taxes, regulating their businesses, and creating laws to control their lives. We've incarcerated far too many for victimless crimes, and it's time to fix that.
Have you ever been convicted of a felony or been penalized for sexual misconduct? If so, please explain.
No
Is there anything else you would like voters to know about you?
If elected, I am able to work across partisan lines to get things done. Being a Libertarian allows me to pull ideas form both spectrums. I'm easy to get along with, and I'm always ready to listen and solve the most complex issues. Thank you for your support. Vote Groo in November.
VALUES
Judeo-Christian values established a framework of morality which is necessary for our system of limited government.
No Answer
I support adding sexual orientation, gender identity and gender expression as protected classes in non-discrimination laws.
Strongly Agree
I support allowing public high school students to participate in athletic competition based on the gender with which they identify instead of biological sex.
Strongly Agree
Parents should have the right to know what schools are teaching their children about sex and LGBT issues and should have the right to opt their children out of any instruction to which they object.
Strongly Agree
Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
I am a born again, spirit filled Christian. I do not subscribe to a denomination. I'm a free thinker. I love everyone. If you have any questions about my faith, please just ask me in person.
