OTHER INFORMATION

QUESTIONNAIRE

RIGHT TO LIFE

Human life begins at conception and deserves legal protection at every stage until natural death.

Agree

Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive taxpayer funds or grants from federal, state, or local governments.

Agree

I support the Born Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act, which requires health care providers to provide life-saving treatment for infants who survive an attempted abortion.

Agree

Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?

To save the life of the mother.

ECONOMY

It is the government’s responsibility to ensure everyone has a livable income.

Disagree

Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.

Agree

What government spending would you reduce in order to balance the budget?

As a legislator, I plan to get a much deeper understanding of how our state spends our tax dollars. As a businessman, my job has always been to maximize our resources and audit our operational efficiency and that is exactly what I intend to do with our state budget, if elected.

RELIGIOUS LIBERTY

Governments should not discriminate against individuals, organizations or small businesses because of their belief that marriage is only a union of one man and one woman.

Agree

Governments should define marriage as between one man and one woman; no other definition of marriage should be legalized or supported with taxpayer or public funds.

No Answer

Religious liberty is at risk in the United States and deserves the highest level of protection in the law.

Agree

I promise to protect the freedom of Christians to share the Gospel and to practice Biblical principles.

Yes

What does "separation of church and state" mean to you?

It means we have the inalienable right to freely live our faith, in public or private, without fear of government coercion or retribution. It does NOT mean separating moral values from government, although a lot of politicians sure could use a refresher on ethics!

HEALTHCARE

It is the government’s responsibility to ensure everyone has health insurance.

Disagree

How would you promote healthcare coverage that is adequate, affordable and accessible for all?

I support solutions that protect coverage for those with pre-existing conditions while also bringing prescription drug costs down. We cannot allow seniors and those with chronic health conditions to pay more just because our leaders don't have the political courage to stand up to the drug companies and require competitive pricing. We also need interstate competition. Obamacare promised to lower rates but drastically raised premiums, in part, because it removed interstate competition. We can bring down costs across the board by opening up exchanges across state lines.

NATIONAL SECURITY

The best way to maintain peace is through a strong military.

Agree

IMMIGRATION

I am in favor of construction of a wall and other necessary infrastructure on our border that gives complete control over entering and exiting the United States.

Agree

State and federal funds should be denied to any public or private entity, including but not limited to sanctuary cities, that are not in compliance with immigration laws.

Agree

Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?

Our immigration laws must be reformed. We cannot allow chain migration and other practices to force law-abiding immigrants to be pushed to the back of the naturalization line. Our laws are created by representatives elected by the people, and they can be changed by the will of the people, if necessary. Sanctuary cities and chain migration practices corrupt our laws and usurp the will of the people by affording criminal illegals protections from criminal justice and deportation. This must be stopped and our laws must be enforced. Our national security is at risk when millions of people are here without any ability for our government to track their activities, location, or legal status.

EDUCATION

Taxpayer-funded public education should be guaranteed through college.

Disagree

VALUES

Judeo-Christian values established a framework of morality which is necessary for our system of limited government.

Agree

I support adding sexual orientation, gender identity and gender expression as protected classes in non-discrimination laws.

No Answer

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

I am a God-fearing man. I believe we were created for a unique purpose and that is something God reveals to each of us. I believe in the golden rule, to do unto others as you'd have them do unto you. I believe it is critically important our legislators apply moral values when taking legislative action. Our system of justice, rule of law, and our constitutional republic is built on a foundation of morality.

ABOUT YOU

When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and immigration, which of the following best describes you overall?

Conservative

Please provide publicly available information validating your answer to the previous question.

I am a businessman like our President. I am a pragmatic conservative and believe the best way to lead is by example. I am running to bring real solutions to the State Capitol. I'm not a politician and have never run for political office before this race. The conservative ideals of limited government, traditional values, and a robust free-market economy are the filters through which I will legislate. You can learn more about me at www.rogersforok.com

What education or experience qualifies you to hold the office for which you seek election?

I am a problem-solving businessman with a wide range of experience in managing budgets, leading by example, and finding solutions to problems. I started a construction company years ago with a hard-hat and $5,000. We are now managing multi-million dollar projects across Oklahoma with dozens of employees. Like President Trump, business has prepared me for this role because unlike working in politics, managing a business requires efficiency and accountability - they aren't mere talking points. Right now, our district needs real solutions to the problems facing us in our state's job market, critical infrastructure, and the healthcare field.

Have you ever been convicted of a felony or been penalized for sexual misconduct? If so, please explain.

No.

Is there anything else you would like voters to know about you?

I decided to run because I want my kids to be raised knowing how great our Country is, that citizen legislators can step forward with unique skillsets, bring solutions to the table that advance our community and state, and return back to working in the private sector. We need less talk and more solutions at the Capitol. My greatest strength is the ability to keep the ball moving down the field, and I believe we need more pragmatic leaders at the Capitol. I have never run for office, and have no interest in making a career in politics. I hope to earn your support to serve as your next State Senator to work for you, lead by example, and bring real conservative solutions to the State Senate.

JUDICIAL PHILOSOPHY

I support the use of Sharia law as a basis for legislation and judicial decisions in the United States.

Disagree

CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY

Mandatory minimum sentencing should be required and enforced for violent crimes.

Agree

2ND AMENDMENT

Should teachers be allowed to carry guns at school?

Yes

What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?

The right to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed. I will strongly oppose any restrictive legislation seeking to invalidate this constitutional protection.

OTHER IMPORTANT ISSUES

People should be able to vote without photo identification.

Disagree

I support the legalization of recreational marijuana.

Disagree

The Electoral College should be abolished.

Disagree

In priority order, what three areas of legislation do you propose to author or sponsor if elected?

1. Infrastructure reform to cut costs, reduce bureaucratic red tape, and streamline the timelines for revamping our roads and bridges. 2. Healthcare reform to work with the Trump administration to lower prescription costs in Oklahoma, encourage interstate competition to lower premiums and take care of our seniors and those with pre-existing conditions. 3. Cut regulations and encourage businesses to invest in our district and state.

Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?

Racism can become a threat to domestic security when it becomes institutionalized or allowed to flourish in radicalized groups. Racism must be decisively condemned whether from members of hate groups such as the KKK, Antifa, etc, or in our governmental institutions. For example, we must stop our schools from teaching and normalizing racism. Indoctrinating students on white privilege, white guilt, or any other component of critical race theory that seeks to apply derogatory labels based on skin color is a form of racism and must be removed. The Bible teaches us not to judge others, but if we must, MLK Jr. said it best that it should be based on the content of character, not the color of skin. We cannot defeat hate with hate or racism with more racism. We need to unite behind solutions and come together on the issue of race, not divide ourselves up.
