Ectopic Pregnancy. Even then, if there is a way to save both it ought to be pursued.

What government spending would you reduce in order to balance the budget?

Well, the State of Missouri has a constitutional requirement for a balanced budget, so I would reduce whatever is necessary - across the board cuts for everything from the Governor's salary to the gardener at the capital building. After that each department/agency would be required to submit three different proposals on where further cuts could be made and the legislature would choose among those. Personally, I would look at education and certain social welfare programs first.

RELIGIOUS LIBERTY

Governments should not discriminate against individuals, organizations or small businesses because of their belief that marriage is only a union of one man and one woman.

Strongly Agree

I promise to protect the freedom of Christians to share the Gospel and to practice Biblical principles.

What does "separation of church and state" mean to you?

It means that there is a huge misunderstanding of the nature of our Republic. Our Republic cannot survive without a public acknowledgement of the moral and civil principles advocated by the "church", that is Judeo-Christian principles. While the government cannot favor one religion or sect over another, the government can, and should, favor religious involvement for all. In the same way, while the "church" cannot and should not control government, it should have influence, for the government void of religious influence and accountability soon devolves into godless, inhumane chaos. We must remember the "separation of church and state" is not in the Constitution or the Declaration of Independence. It was in a private letter sent to an association of churches to assure them the government would not interfere with their religious liberties.

HEALTHCARE

It is the government’s responsibility to ensure everyone has health insurance.

Strongly Disagree

It is the government’s responsibility to ensure everyone has health insurance.

Strongly Disagree

How would you promote healthcare coverage that is adequate, affordable and accessible for all?

I would start with transparent pricing for medical care, as well as consistent pricing, instead of patients being charged differently due to their insurance. I would also allow medical practitioners to practice on their own time pro bono if they choose to, which would allow for more charity clinics in under-served areas. I would limit compensation in medical malpractice suits.

Strongly Agree

Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?

Anyone who comes here legally, learns the English (American English) language, and strives to become a naturalized citizen at the earliest possible time, which, if I remember right, involves swearing allegiance to the Constitution. Anyone wanting to come here, reject the constitution, reject the language, reject citizenship, and try to make the US like the country from which they came should just stay home.

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

I believe that all people are created in the Image of God and deserving of respect and neighborly love, but only those who put their trust in Jesus Christ for salvation will spend eternity in Heaven. The Bible is absolutely and completely true and should be the basis for decisions in all areas of life - family, business, government, etc. Consequently, I am completely pro-life. I believe in monogamous, heterosexual marriage. I believe in personal responsibility - that is, each of us are responsible for the outcome of our own decisions. At the same time, however, mercy and grace should be extended to those who suffer from circumstances not of their own choosing.

Please provide publicly available information validating your answer to the previous question.

In regard to foreign policy and immigration: We should not be responsible for the well-being of other nations, though at times helping them may be in our best interest. I would welcome people from other countries that want to come here, so long as they do so legally, learn the English language, and become naturalized citizens. In regard to economy: I believe every government regulation on commerce is an infringement on free enterprise. There should be no such thing as "too big to fail". I believe a person must work in order to produce income for themselves and their family. Only those who are truly incapable of working should receive public benefits. Unemployment should be limited to less than it is currently, I favor "workfare". In social Matters: Abortion is murder. Euthanasia is murder. All life is sacred. However, I favor capital punishment for certain crimes where the criminal has already violated the sacredness of someone else's life.

What education or experience qualifies you to hold the office for which you seek election?

First, our constitutional republic is designed to be governed by common people elected by citizens, not by professional politicians. As such, since I am a natural born citizen over the age of 24 I am automatically qualified. Additionally, however, I have 35+ years of experience in working with people and leading groups and organizations by consensus. As a pastor I have seen examples of every situation known and experienced by individuals and families, and how laws and regulations have made a difference for good or for bad. Being on the front lines of these issues I know there are ways where businesses, families and individuals can be more free to determine their own path for their own benefit and the benefit of their fellow citizens.

Is there anything else you would like voters to know about you?

I am not a politician. I will not change my mind to whatever way the wind is blowing. I am willing to have a civil discussion with anyone about any topic and give them the opportunity to sway my thinking while I try to sway them. However, my deep-seated convictions are non-negotiable and the voters can be confident that I will stand firm on these principles I have outlined in my campaign.

Yes

Should teachers be allowed to carry guns at school?

Yes

What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?

None. Those who threaten public safety will not observe any such restrictions anyhow. Whenever proper law enforcement officials are not available (including time to arrive at the scene) the citizens are to be free to protect themselves when they feel a need to do so.

Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?

No. While racism is an issue to be addressed, domestic security has not been threatened by it in decades, so it should not be threatened by it now. The civil unrest of our current times is rooted in socialism cloaking itself in racial disparity. Yet there seems to be little to no racial strife concerning Hispanics and Asians. So simply saying "racism" is inaccurate. Even so, whenever a case of true racism is brought to light it needs to be dealt with openly and with justice for all concerned.
