Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?
First of all, being a retired educator of which half of my career was with the Colorado Department of Corrections and I practicing Catholic, I realize some people should not reproduce for financial, mental stability or behavioral issues and that too often abortion is a form of birth control. The problem with that philosophy is who plays the role of God? I struggle with the least of two evils of abortion versus bringing a human life into this world that has little to chance of happiness and one that the government will ultimately support. I believe all life is sacred. I do not believe my tax dollars should be used to pay for other's lack of sexual responsibility. I also know that 0.01% of all abortions are due to rape and incest. With that being said, in an ideal world the only circumstances to allow an abortion would be to save the live of the woman. However, we do not live in an ideal world. In the meantime, I will lobby, at minimum, to prohibit late term abortions, Prop 115.

Serious investigation of welfare fraud. I believe we are losing millions of dollars to un-entitled criminals. Give the money to those who need, but keep a very close watch on the recipients.

What does "separation of church and state" mean to you?
The ability to freely worship without influence from the state so long that it does not hinder the liberties of another. But we must remember, our country was founded on Christian values. We have "In God We Trust" on everything and it needs to stay that way.

How would you promote healthcare coverage that is adequate, affordable and accessible for all?
I work part-time for United Airlines strictly for the healthcare coverage. There are many companies that provide full time benefits for part-time work. Again, if you able to work and need healthcare, you should work. If not then a system needs to be put into place to assist those in REAL need. I am cautious of government ran healthcare because there are so few successful government ran models.

The foundation of our society is based on Christian values. Society is in the state it is in because of lack of spiritual belief and leadership.

I believe in Capitalism. I believe we all have opportunities for success; some roads are easier due to circumstances but we all have opportunities. The government is here to help it's citizens, not support them. If you need to work, able to work, you should work. Life is just that simple.

I am a 30 year small business owner and retired educator. This experience helps me prepare our future generations prepare to be successful working contributors of society and good citizens.

Our country was built on a system of checks and balances. We need to mindful of a balanced government. A divided government (Executive Branch & Chambers of Congress) work best when they need to cooperate with one another. When one party controls too much of the government, the result will be radical policies and laws. Everyone needs to be represented and feel they have a say in our government.
