QUESTIONNAIRE
RIGHT TO LIFE
Human life begins at conception and deserves legal protection at every stage until natural death.
Strongly Agree
Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive taxpayer funds or grants from federal, state, or local governments.
Strongly Agree
I support the Born Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act, which requires health care providers to provide life-saving treatment for infants who survive an attempted abortion.
Strongly Agree
Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?
All life comes from God. We live in a fallen world where abortion has been legalized. Many have celebrated the recent legislation movements across America that limit the time frame for abortion to prior to detecting a heartbeat. However, life begins at conception and abortion should be illegal. Many argue for abortion when a mother’s life is at risk or in cases of rape. There are gut wrenching circumstances which offer truly powerful support for abortion but protecting innocent life must take precedence. We should be diligent to support those who face these crises! Love thy neighbor as thyself.
ECONOMY
It is the government’s responsibility to ensure everyone has a livable income.
Strongly Disagree
Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.
Strongly Agree
What government spending would you reduce in order to balance the budget?
Our government spends our taxpayer dollars with little regard for the taxpayer's sacrifice. I will work to reduce unnecessary spending and compel our government to place strong emphasis on reducing debt. I will also challenge legislators to support limited government in fiscal spending.
RELIGIOUS LIBERTY
Governments should not discriminate against individuals, organizations or small businesses because of their belief that marriage is only a union of one man and one woman.
Strongly Agree
Governments should define marriage as between one man and one woman; no other definition of marriage should be legalized or supported with taxpayer or public funds.
Strongly Agree
Religious liberty is at risk in the United States and deserves the highest level of protection in the law.
Strongly Agree
I promise to protect the freedom of Christians to share the Gospel and to practice Biblical principles.
Yes
What does "separation of church and state" mean to you?
The Church should not be controlled by the state. When governments get involved in church leadership, corruption becomes rampant. Historically, problems are not from Christians in government leadership but from government leadership controlling churches.
HEALTHCARE
It is the government’s responsibility to ensure everyone has health insurance.
Strongly Disagree
How would you promote healthcare coverage that is adequate, affordable and accessible for all?
Healthcare coverage could be greatly improved if more people would take responsibility for their overall health. The recent virus pandemic has generated an increased usage of telemedicine which could possibly be one tool in the effort to create more affordable and accessible coverage. Limited government involvement in addition to greater personal responsibility and lower cost telemedicine accessibility could potentially increase emergency accessibility and lower healthcare provider costs which would ultimately reduce premiums paid to insurers.
NATIONAL SECURITY
The best way to maintain peace is through a strong military.
Strongly Agree
IMMIGRATION
I am in favor of construction of a wall and other necessary infrastructure on our border that gives complete control over entering and exiting the United States.
Strongly Agree
State and federal funds should be denied to any public or private entity, including but not limited to sanctuary cities, that are not in compliance with immigration laws.
Strongly Agree
Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?
Legal immigration into the U.S. is a privilege that comes with responsibility. All persons entering the United States should do so legally by complying with our laws. They should also commit to learning and obeying our laws. America was founded by those who revered Judeo-Christian principles and all immigrants should be willing to adhere to our Constitution without trying to remove those principles supported by our founding fathers. All who are willing to legally assimilate are welcome.
EDUCATION
Taxpayer-funded public education should be guaranteed through college.
Strongly Disagree
VALUES
Judeo-Christian values established a framework of morality which is necessary for our system of limited government.
Strongly Agree
I support adding sexual orientation, gender identity and gender expression as protected classes in non-discrimination laws.
Strongly Disagree
Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
The relationship between God and man was broken when Adam and Eve chose to disobey God’s command. All men and women throughout history have sinned and sin has perpetually caused a barrier between God and mankind. The only hope was for a savior to come into this world, live a sinless life, die a sacrificial death, be buried and then resurrected so that His people could be reconciled to God. Jesus Christ, fully God and fully man, born of a virgin, gave His life that sinful man could be born again into a relationship with God for eternity. Those who have faith in Jesus Christ, repent of their sins and follow Christ will inherit eternal salvation. Jesus Christ is the reason for my hope and as a follower, I desire to please my Lord. This commitment impacts all areas of my life and will directly affect all decisions.
ABOUT YOU
When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and immigration, which of the following best describes you overall?
Conservative
Please provide publicly available information validating your answer to the previous question.
Did not answer
What education or experience qualifies you to hold the office for which you seek election?
Representing citizens at the state level brings great responsibility that should be considered a honor and pursued with much self evaluation to insure that all people have a voice in government. The years spent working in a carpet distribution center created a deep appreciation for those hard working community members who deserve the same representation as all other members of the community. Volunteer work contributes to knowledge regarding budgets, conflict resolution and organizational management. Owning a small business brings many diverse challenges which sharpen the problem solving skill set and a vast array of skills that are constantly growing and changing.
Have you ever been convicted of a felony or been penalized for sexual misconduct? If so, please explain.
No
Is there anything else you would like voters to know about you?
Todd grew up in the Fairview community of Rossville, Georgia, and currently resides with his wife Cheri in Chickamauga, Georgia. They are a blended family with four children and four grandchildren. He and Cheri are members of Immanuel Baptist Church in Rossville, Georgia. Todd graduated with the last class of Rossville High School and went on to earn an Associates Degree in General Studies from Dalton College, before completing his Bachelors Degree in Ministry Studies at Shorter College. He is a lifelong resident of Northwest Georgia, and has extensive knowledge of the 53rd District.
JUDICIAL PHILOSOPHY
I support the use of Sharia law as a basis for legislation and judicial decisions in the United States.
Strongly Disagree
CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY
Mandatory minimum sentencing should be required and enforced for violent crimes.
Strongly Agree
2ND AMENDMENT
Should teachers be allowed to carry guns at school?
Yes
What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?
The 2nd Amendment is essential to the freedom of the American people and should not be infringed upon by legislative actions. Law abiding citizens should not be required to obtain a carry permit nor should they be subjected to red flag laws.
OTHER IMPORTANT ISSUES
People should be able to vote without photo identification.
Disagree
I support the legalization of recreational marijuana.
Strongly Disagree
The Electoral College should be abolished.
Strongly Disagree
In priority order, what three areas of legislation do you propose to author or sponsor if elected?
Constitutional Carry for all law abiding citizens in Georgia Review and Revision of the Georgia Foster Care system operated by DFACS Elimination of the film industry tax credits
Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?
Racism incited by any people group has the potential to cause harm and negatively impact the security of the United States by creating rifts that cause disunity leading to erosion of democracy. We should acknowledge our differences and strive to treat each other with mutual respect while rejecting racism.
