QUESTIONNAIRE
RIGHT TO LIFE
Human life begins at conception and deserves legal protection at every stage until natural death.
Agree
Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive taxpayer funds or grants from federal, state, or local governments.
Strongly Agree
I support the Born Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act, which requires health care providers to provide life-saving treatment for infants who survive an attempted abortion.
Strongly Agree
Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?
As it stands, in the cases of rape, incest or if the life of the mother is endangered. My Catholic views are that life begins at conception, however I also know that there are sometimes extenuating circumstances such as what I mentioned above. I do not impose my personal views on this subject upon others who may have a different view.
ECONOMY
It is the government’s responsibility to ensure everyone has a livable income.
Disagree
Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.
Agree
What government spending would you reduce in order to balance the budget?
I would not interfere with spending on the military, infrastructure, Social Security or Medicare. There is a lot of wasteful spending in government and I would have to look at each thing individually to see what is necessary and what is not.
RELIGIOUS LIBERTY
Governments should not discriminate against individuals, organizations or small businesses because of their belief that marriage is only a union of one man and one woman.
Strongly Agree
Governments should define marriage as between one man and one woman; no other definition of marriage should be legalized or supported with taxpayer or public funds.
No Answer
Religious liberty is at risk in the United States and deserves the highest level of protection in the law.
Strongly Agree
I promise to protect the freedom of Christians to share the Gospel and to practice Biblical principles.
Yes
What does "separation of church and state" mean to you?
The government must remain neutral in matters of religion and not favor one religion over another.
HEALTHCARE
It is the government’s responsibility to ensure everyone has health insurance.
Disagree
How would you promote healthcare coverage that is adequate, affordable and accessible for all?
As an ER nurse I regularly see patients that have no insurance or inadequate coverage. I would be a strong advocate for caps on healthcare costs, and controls and caps on prescription drugs, especially for seniors. I would also support educational programs and services that promote healthy living and preventative care so that costs over an indvidual's lifetime may be decreased.
NATIONAL SECURITY
The best way to maintain peace is through a strong military.
Agree
IMMIGRATION
I am in favor of construction of a wall and other necessary infrastructure on our border that gives complete control over entering and exiting the United States.
Strongly Agree
State and federal funds should be denied to any public or private entity, including but not limited to sanctuary cities, that are not in compliance with immigration laws.
Strongly Agree
Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?
Anyone should be allowed to immigrate to the US, but it needs to be legally and after a thorough vetting so that terrorists and criminals are not allowed in. Once in the country, legal immigrants must take measures to become contributing, productive, taxpaying members of society and not be allowed to remain on government programs/entitlements for extended periods of time.
EDUCATION
Taxpayer-funded public education should be guaranteed through college.
Disagree
VALUES
Judeo-Christian values established a framework of morality which is necessary for our system of limited government.
Agree
I support adding sexual orientation, gender identity and gender expression as protected classes in non-discrimination laws.
No Answer
Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
I am a Catholic and I believe that I should be humble, good, kind, giving and forgiving.
ABOUT YOU
When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and immigration, which of the following best describes you overall?
Conservative
Please provide publicly available information validating your answer to the previous question.
I have been a registered Republican and voted as such for a very long time which I am sure can be verified.
What education or experience qualifies you to hold the office for which you seek election?
I have five college degrees and have had 55 years of life experiences. Although I am "new" to running for office, I feel that I am not jaded by the ugliness of today's political environment and am not suseptible to the "business as usual" mindset of today's politicians.
Have you ever been convicted of a felony or been penalized for sexual misconduct? If so, please explain.
No.
Is there anything else you would like voters to know about you?
I am dedicated to serving all residents of the 147th District without regard to political affiliation. I want to make the District better for all who live and have businesses here. Your concerns are my concerns and my door will always be open.
JUDICIAL PHILOSOPHY
I support the use of Sharia law as a basis for legislation and judicial decisions in the United States.
Strongly Disagree
CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY
Mandatory minimum sentencing should be required and enforced for violent crimes.
Strongly Agree
2ND AMENDMENT
Should teachers be allowed to carry guns at school?
Yes
What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?
I am an advocate for the Second Amendment. The PA Constitution states that gun ownership "shall not be questioned". I do believe that no one with a diagnosed (from a professional) should have access to firearms. I also believe that people with psychological issues need treatment and then re-evaluation before being granted access to guns. I do not believe that convicted felons of violent crimes should be able to have firearms. I also believe in thorough background checks.
OTHER IMPORTANT ISSUES
People should be able to vote without photo identification.
Strongly Disagree
I support the legalization of recreational marijuana.
Disagree
The Electoral College should be abolished.
Strongly Disagree
In priority order, what three areas of legislation do you propose to author or sponsor if elected?
Heathcare and prescription drug costs, funding for fighting the opioid crisis and legislation that includes lowering taxes, especially for seniors.
Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?
No. I am not saying that some forms of racism do not exist in the United States, but I do believe that opportunistic people and organizations (i.e. the media) use certain events or situations to perpetuate that this country is still a racist country. Thankfully, we are not still living in the times of slavery and the times prior to the Civil Rights Act, however there are those that still use this to promote and advance their own agendas.
