QUESTIONNAIRE
RIGHT TO LIFE
Human life begins at conception and deserves legal protection at every stage until natural death.
Strongly Agree
Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive taxpayer funds or grants from federal, state, or local governments.
Strongly Agree
I support the Born Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act, which requires health care providers to provide life-saving treatment for infants who survive an attempted abortion.
Strongly Agree
Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?
I don't believe abortions should ever be legal.
ECONOMY
It is the government’s responsibility to ensure everyone has a livable income.
Disagree
Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.
Strongly Agree
How would you guarantee Social Security benefits for future generations?
The Social Security Fund is losing too much money every year. If politicians had left it alone, it would likely be fine. But, they didn't and it's a mess. What I believe the U.S. Government needs to do is to start setting money aside for Social Security, every month, until everything that was deposited is recovered. Because the economy generates a great return on investments, a portion of the Social Security Fund should be held in investments - although the liquid portion of the fund should be able to pay current recipients for several years should in case of a stock market downturn.
What government spending would you reduce in order to balance the budget?
There's no single expenditure that will balance the budget; however, I would start with grants to any organization that contributes money to candidates for public office, any organization that publicly endorses candidates for office, and any organization that advocates for or against political issues. Next, I stop funding (over time) anything that is not identified in the Constitution, with the exception of Social Welfare Programs, Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, and similar programs.
Under what circumstances should taxpayers help pay off existing student loans?
When somebody takes out a loan, they state they are responsible for paying the money back. The taxpayers didn't sign up for a loan and are not responsible for it. Therefore, only when a person with a student loan takes a job that is extremely hard to fill, should taxpayers help pay off the student loan. It should be incrementally paid off, based on the length of time the individual works in the job that is difficult to fill. No more than 2 years of loan payoff for every year worked.
RELIGIOUS LIBERTY
Governments should not discriminate against individuals, organizations or small businesses because of their belief that marriage is only a union of one man and one woman.
Strongly Agree
Religious liberty is at risk in the United States and deserves the highest level of protection in the law.
Strongly Agree
I promise to protect the freedom of Christians to share the Gospel and to practice Biblical principles.
Yes
What does "separation of church and state" mean to you?
The Government has no role in determining any activity of a Church. But the Church DOES have a strong role in explaining issues, particularly those of morality, to it's congregation and influencing how they vote, without endorsing any specific candidates.
HEALTHCARE
It is the government’s responsibility to ensure everyone has health insurance.
Disagree
I support the elimination of private healthcare insurance.
Strongly Disagree
How would you promote healthcare coverage that is adequate, affordable and accessible for all?
Again, I believe in the Free Market; I believe that Healthcare is no different than other things we purchase, except it regulated. It should be deregulated and people should be able to purchase the coverage needed and should be able to do so across state lines.
NATIONAL SECURITY
The best way to maintain peace is through a strong military.
Strongly Agree
What should the United States do to help eradicate the threat of radical Islamic terrorism?
We should change our laws to mandate that any person who is arrested for terrorist activities shall be tried within one year and, if found guilty, be sentenced to a mandatory life sentence.
IMMIGRATION
I am in favor of construction of a wall and other necessary infrastructure on our border that gives complete control over entering and exiting the United States.
Strongly Agree
Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) should be abolished.
Strongly Disagree
State and federal funds should be denied to any public or private entity, including but not limited to sanctuary cities, that are not in compliance with immigration laws.
Strongly Agree
Employers should be required to use E-verify to confirm the eligibility of their employees to work in the United States.
Strongly Agree
Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?
Immigration should benefit both the immigrant and the United States. So, people with skills needed in our economy should be first in line to come into the U.S., along with their immediate families only. A second category of people are those people with promise; they haven't got the skills yet, but with the right training, will develop skills to prosper in our economy. These people should be permitted to enter the U.S. and, only after they are working and can afford to support their families, should their immediate families be permitted to enter the U.S. Third, are Humanitarian Cases. We should allow a small number of people to enter and live in the U.S. because of their refugee status, need for medical treatment, or because of an affiliation with the U.S. Government that could cost them their livelihoods or their lives.
EDUCATION
Taxpayer-funded public education should be guaranteed through college.
Disagree
VALUES
Judeo-Christian values established a framework of morality which is necessary for our system of limited government.
Strongly Agree
I support adding sexual orientation, gender identity and gender expression as protected classes in non-discrimination laws.
Disagree
Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
I am Roman Catholic and I believe in the theology of the Church. In addition to receiving Sacraments of the Church, my values are that everything I do must be Legal, Ethical, AND Moral and I will never compromise those principles for anything, whatsoever; including a political office.
ABOUT YOU
When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and immigration, which of the following best describes you overall?
Conservative
Please provide publicly available information validating your answer to the previous question.
My Positions are Pro-Life, Pro-2nd Amendment, and Pro-Constitution. I plan to work for School Choice, especially for children in non-accredited schools. I also plan to fight to rid the public schools of federal government regulations, many of which prevent teachers from doing their jobs. I also believe in the Free Enterprise, but to get there, we need people with skills in the Trades. Therefore, I support the establishment of Vocation Technical High Schools to support local economies and/or national security requirements
Have you ever been convicted of a felony or been penalized for sexual misconduct? If so, please explain.
No
Is there anything else you would like voters to know about you?
I have been married to my wife for 34 years and have 4 children and 2 grandchildren. One of them has extreme special needs, one is a Disabled Veteran, another is an Army Officer, and the fourth is preparing to begin college in the Fall. I am a Disabled and Retired Marine, as well as retired DHS Counterterrorism Expert, who has developed several security-related methodologies that continue to keep America safe. I am a life-long Conservative, who has never been arrested, sued, filed bankruptcy or lost my license. I am a member of the Suffolk Republican Party. Finally, I would like to earn your vote on June 9th and again on November 3rd.
CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY
Mandatory minimum sentencing should be required and enforced for violent crimes.
Agree
2ND AMENDMENT
What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?
Every person has the right to own personal weapons. However, those weapons should not include crew served weapons, without special licensing - which is already required.
OTHER IMPORTANT ISSUES
I support BDS (boycott, divestment, and sanction) against Israel if they refuse to allow the creation of a Palestinian state.
Strongly Disagree
I support the legalization of recreational marijuana.
Disagree
Reparations should be given to people on the basis of race.
Strongly Disagree
The Electoral College should be abolished.
Strongly Disagree
In priority order, what three areas of legislation do you propose to author or sponsor if elected?
1. Take away federal funding from any state when the state or local government infringes upon its citizens Constitutional Rights, without due process. 2. School Choice, to include removing the burden of federal regulations from public schools. 3. To establish Vocational Technical High Schools in areas where there is both a high dropout rate and an economy that needs specific skills that can be taught at these schools.
Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?
We have come a long way in this country since Civil Rights. However, there will always be someone in America who demonstrates hatred, based on the color of a person's skin. This cannot be tolerated at all. Is it an overarching threat? Not that I have seen but perception is reality; if minorities perceive it exists, then from their perspective, it definitely does exist. We have to either fight it or show people that it's not as rampant as it once was.
