QUESTIONNAIRE

RIGHT TO LIFE

Human life begins at conception and deserves legal protection at every stage until natural death.

Agree

Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive taxpayer funds or grants from federal, state, or local governments.

Agree

I support the Born Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act, which requires health care providers to provide life-saving treatment for infants who survive an attempted abortion.

Strongly Agree

Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?

- Rape & sexual assault Victims should be afforded the opportunity to consider the procedure. - When absolutely medically necessary to save the life of the mother when the mother's life would surely terminate prior to the fetus maturing enough to be viable outside of the mother's womb.

ECONOMY

It is the government’s responsibility to ensure everyone has a livable income.

Disagree

Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.

Strongly Agree

What government spending would you reduce in order to balance the budget?

expenditures for things that would preclude the adequate funding of our primary governmental responsibilities i.e. our military, our criminal justice system, our education system, etc.

RELIGIOUS LIBERTY

Governments should not discriminate against individuals, organizations or small businesses because of their belief that marriage is only a union of one man and one woman.

Strongly Agree

Governments should define marriage as between one man and one woman; no other definition of marriage should be legalized or supported with taxpayer or public funds.

Agree

Religious liberty is at risk in the United States and deserves the highest level of protection in the law.

Strongly Agree

I promise to protect the freedom of Christians to share the Gospel and to practice Biblical principles.

Yes

What does "separation of church and state" mean to you?

We are a nation of differing religions and creeds. We have a right to practice and adhere to our separate religions and creeds. The government should not interfere in our beliefs or religious practices unless they are harming or precluding others from freely practicing their religion or creed.

HEALTHCARE

It is the government’s responsibility to ensure everyone has health insurance.

Disagree

How would you promote healthcare coverage that is adequate, affordable and accessible for all?

support the current health care system and support advocacy for adequate health care for those KY citizens who do not currently have access to private healthcare insurance.

NATIONAL SECURITY

The best way to maintain peace is through a strong military.

Strongly Agree

IMMIGRATION

I am in favor of construction of a wall and other necessary infrastructure on our border that gives complete control over entering and exiting the United States.

Strongly Agree

State and federal funds should be denied to any public or private entity, including but not limited to sanctuary cities, that are not in compliance with immigration laws.

Agree

- Those that follow the applicable laws concerning immigration

EDUCATION

VALUES

Judeo-Christian values established a framework of morality which is necessary for our system of limited government.

ABOUT YOU

When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and immigration, which of the following best describes you overall?

Conservative

Please provide publicly available information validating your answer to the previous question.

I have practiced my religious faith my entire life and will continue to do so until my death. I have served in my nations military for three decades in a manner that resulted in my continual promotion into more senior positions of ever increasing responsibilities and authority. After retirement from the military - I was appointed as the Director of Training for the KY Department of Corrections (DOC) and later as the DOC Director of Operations for three governors and four administrations - both Republican & Democratic.

What education or experience qualifies you to hold the office for which you seek election?

28 + years as a military member / officer while serving as a senior military law enforcement and corrections official. A majority of my duties during my service entailed training and operations My last military assignment was as the Provost Marshal (military sheriff) and Commander of a military unit with 4,600 soldiers and employees. 15 + years as a civilian appointee in KY state government while serving as a senior corrections training and operations official for four administrations (2 republican & 2 democratic)

Have you ever been convicted of a felony or been penalized for sexual misconduct? If so, please explain.

No - but I have investigated or supervised a significantly large number of criminal investigations concerning these crimes - I know that I always gave these cases my best efforts - as everyone within the criminal justice system should.

Is there anything else you would like voters to know about you?

A state representative serves in a part time job with huge full time responsibilities. I have the desire, the experience and the maturity to serve the constituents of the 58th District in the manner that they deserve.

JUDICIAL PHILOSOPHY

I support the use of Sharia law as a basis for legislation and judicial decisions in the United States.

Strongly Disagree

CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY

Mandatory minimum sentencing should be required and enforced for violent crimes.

Strongly Agree

2ND AMENDMENT

Should teachers be allowed to carry guns at school?

Yes

What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?

The current federal laws are adequate to protect public safety. I don't agree with some of the federal laws that place what I believe are unconstitutional restrictions upon our 2d amendment rights.

OTHER IMPORTANT ISSUES

People should be able to vote without photo identification.

Strongly Disagree

I support the legalization of recreational marijuana.

Disagree

The Electoral College should be abolished.

Strongly Disagree

In priority order, what three areas of legislation do you propose to author or sponsor if elected?

- enhance and improve the fiscal prudence of the KY Budget system - paying special attention to the retirement funds and their solvency - equability for military & military veterans within state rules, regulations and policies - enhance and improve the Kentucky Justice Cabinet's performance

Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?

The reality and perception of racial inequality has been a significant issue within our society for hundreds of years. I don't believe that it is as great of a divisive issue has it has been in our past - based upon my children attitudes towards racial issues. I honestly believe that our country is well upon the path to racial equality in the generations that are quickly becoming the majority of our population.
