QUESTIONNAIRE

RIGHT TO LIFE

Human life deserves legal protection from conception until natural death.

Strongly Agree

Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive taxpayer funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).

Strongly Agree

Under what circumstances should an elective abortion be allowed?

Allowing elective abortion of innocent life is never the answer and should not be allowed. Like bans on murder outside the womb, Kentucky’s abortion ban rightly protects pre-born human life, except when the mother’s life is at risk and both the mother and the child cannot be saved. Ultrasound imaging establishes that a baby and not mere human tissue is created in the womb and that babies feel pain during abortions. Human life is sacred; government must protect the most vulnerable.

The lives of human embryos created through artificial methods ought to be protected from purposeful destruction.

Strongly Agree

Created human embryos could be adopted and should not be destroyed.

The Comstock Act, which bans interstate transportation of abortion-inducing drugs, should be enforced.

Strongly Agree

ECONOMY

Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.

Strongly Agree

What is your position on the minimum wage?

Gov't. should stay out it, leaving employers to set wages based on supply/demand. Lowest-paid are hired less or fired if gov't sets min. wage higher than the market requires. Good employers pay more when market requires to hire and keep good workers.

I support using taxpayer funds to lobby the state legislature.

Strongly Disagree

List your top 3-5 priorities to eliminate government waste.

Require real transparency and zero-based budgeting, eliminate duplicate programs, score bids on price + performance + life-cycle cost (ban no-bids), and put expiration dates on programs so they die unless reauthorized after results are reviewed.

RELIGIOUS LIBERTY

What does "separation of church and state" mean to you?

Separation of church and state means the government shall not establish or fund an official religion. The Founders intended to prevent the kind of official national church that existed in England and in some colonies where the government picked a denomination, funded it with taxes, and punished dissenters. It was never meant to ban religious ideas or people from public life or government.

Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.

Strongly Disagree

HEALTHCARE

What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D) Taxpayer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be defunded.

C

The government should keep a database of people with various ongoing medical illnesses to assess the economic burden of treatment.

Strongly Disagree

NATIONAL SECURITY

The Chinese Communist Party poses serious military, cyber security, intellectual property, and global economic threats to the United States.

Strongly Agree

Is the United States' relationship with Israel important, and if so why?

U.S.-Israel ties are strategically vital. Israel faces hostility from regimes seeking its destruction - and ours. We share intel, military tech, and missile defense. Israel's fall would make the region unstable and threatening to the U.S.

IMMIGRATION

I support the existence of sanctuary cities to protect undocumented persons.

Strongly Disagree

EDUCATION

I support eliminating the U.S. Department of Education and giving control back to states and communities.

Strongly Agree

Foreign governments should be prohibited from funding American education.

Strongly Agree

VALUES

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

I'm an imperfect child of God who has been baptized and indwelled by the Holy Spirit, claimed by grace, walking in repentance, and seeking to follow Jesus Christ as Lord in the power of the Holy Spirit. I believe in every word of the Apostle's Creed.

Marriage is a God-ordained, sacred and legal union of one man and one woman. No government has the authority to alter this definition.

Strongly Agree

I support the expansion of gambling in my state.

Strongly Disagree

Government should recognize and support the fundamental right and essential duty of parents to direct their child's upbringing, including their religious, health, and educational well-being.

Strongly Agree

I strongly agree, except this right and duty of parents does not extend to allow child abuse, including making choices for their children that cause irreversible damage such as seeking "transgender" hormones and surgery for minors.

Attempts to transition or encourage a child to transition to the opposite sex constitutes child abuse.

Strongly Agree

ELECTIONS AND VOTING

People should be able to vote without photo identification.

Strongly Disagree

EQUALITY

Reparations should be given to people on the basis of race.

Strongly Disagree

Biological males should not be allowed to participate in women's sports or occupy biological women's spaces whether it be bathrooms, locker rooms, sorority houses, women's shelters, or prison.

Strongly Agree

ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT

What do you believe is the most reliable energy source that will supply the growing demand for electricity?

Nuclear is the most reliable source - natural gas second. Still, the smartest approach is "all of the above." Growing demand is too big for any one technology. Nuclear, coal, and gas provide the firm foundation, while hydro and renewables fill in.

Man-made climate change is a global threat and requires urgent political action.

Strongly Disagree

ABOUT YOU

When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?

Very Conservative

Have you ever been penalized for sexual misconduct in either civil or criminal court? If so, please explain.

NO

Have you ever been convicted of a felony? If so, please explain.

NO

CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY

What should be the goal of the criminal justice system?

I agree with the goals the legislature set for the criminal justice system through Kentucky’s sentencing policy and Corrections mission: to protect public safety; hold offenders accountable; reduce recidivism; and provide a safe, humane environment while offering rehabilitation, including education, treatment, and reentry support so people can return to society without reoffending.

Sharia law should not be accepted or incorporated in any form within the legal framework of the United States.

Strongly Agree

The government should use automated-enforcement cameras to track speeding and criminal activity.

Strongly Disagree

While at one time I did not support banning ALPRs, I now believe they should be banned because current ALPR networks go far beyond traditional “plain view” or single-officer observation and instead enable tracking of people’s movements in ways that violate Constitutional rights and due process.

2ND AMENDMENT

What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?

The Second Amendment guarantees an individual right to bear arms that cannot be restricted based on modern views on what is needed to protect public safety. The only legitimate regulations are those that are firmly rooted in America's historical tradition from the Founding, such as disarming felons or the mentally ill.
