Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?
None. When the pro-choice community argues that a mother's health is at risk, there is no medical reason why the life of the child must be directly and intentionally ended with an abortion procedure. There are other options for medical treatment that preserve sanctity of life and protect the mother and child (ex: preterm delivery). If medical treatment (ex: chemotherapy) results in a miscarriage, that is not an abortion as the death of child was not the intended outcome. Further, sexual assault trauma is not resolved with the additional trauma of abortion.

It is unlikely social security benefits will exist for future generations without a significant overhaul of the current system. We should give workers control of their retirement investments and make retirement savings options voluntary, portable, and secure. Allow current retirees or near-retirees to remain in the system, and give future generations greater latitude and control over their financial future in retirement.
What government spending would you reduce in order to balance the budget?
We need to prioritize a balanced budget. This means getting serious on cutting spending, even on programs that we support. Identifying and eliminating government waste and fraud will not be enough. Scaling back to the constitutionally provisioned federal boundaries will also help in reducing spending. Focus on the six purposes of government set forth in the Preamble to the US Constitution.
Under what circumstances should taxpayers help pay off existing student loans?
None. Taxpayers should not bear the financial burden for individuals' choices to incur loan debt in the pursuit of higher education.

It means that the church and state are separate entities at an institutional level. It also means that government cannot recognize or show favoritism for any religion. The government should be neutral in the people's free exercise of religion or choice to not believe if that is the people's preference. It means you may have a faith and you may live it.

I am a native Virginian who loves helping others, reading, and singing. I am a lifelong learner and passionate about my chosen pursuits. I love animals, particularly dogs, and support legislation to combat animal cruelty, puppy mills, etc. which harm those innocent creatures. Since childhood, I have been a vocal advocate and champion for the underdog against injustice. My leadership experience makes me well suited to bring people together, hear what matters to you, and act with integrity on your behalf. We the People deserve better than career politicians and I'm in the fight as the ultimate political outsider to be your voice. We can find common ground with compromise while being unwavering in our core principles/values. As a civics teacher, I know the Constitution and people from all sorts of backgrounds. As your US Senator, I can introduce bills that help real people with real problems. Informed voters do their homework. Please reach out with questions.

None. Law abiding citizens have a God-given and constitutionally protected right to keep and bear arms. The only gun control we need is stance and trigger discipline. With great freedom comes great responsibility and gun owners can and should seek out firearms safety and training, but it should not be mandated and no additional restrictions are necessary.

Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?
We must take any and all threats to domestic security seriously in the United States. Acts of extremism, including hate-fueled actions by extreme racists like those in alt-right white supremacist groups for example, are detrimental to domestic tranquility, a more perfect union, and the ideals of America that all men (and women) are created equal.
