QUESTIONNAIRE

RIGHT TO LIFE

Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?

I do not believe in abortion. If you do get an abortion, that should be between you and God.

Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).

Strongly Agree

I do not believe taxpayers should have to pay for someone else's mistake.

I support 'aid in dying' laws which legalize assisted suicide and euthanasia.

Neutral

While I support a person's right to die with dignity, I am also aware of how this could be abused.

ECONOMY

What changes, if any, should be made to the tax code?

A flat percentage tax. No more deductions or credits.

What government spending would you reduce in order to balance the budget?

First off, get rid of all the pet projects. Demand accountability. Reduce the size of the government. It is way too big for our population to be able to support.

Taxpayer-funded public education should be guaranteed through college.

Strongly Disagree

The taxpayer-funded public education system does not work. If it did work, it should not have to be paid for by people that will not benefit from it.

RELIGIOUS LIBERTY

Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.

Strongly Disagree

A sincerely held religious belief that does not actively cause physical harm to another should not be violated by requiring an individual to provide a service that would go against it.

Under what circumstances can government close churches?

Never. No power over the people. If the people want a church to close, they will quit attending.

HEALTHCARE

What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D)Tax-payer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be de-funded.

The healthcare system is a mess. Universal healthcare funded by the taxpayers is a bad idea. That will just raise the taxes even more. A healthcare system like Medicaid and Medicare that are helpful for those with no private health insurance makes sense, but I think that could be done better.

Under what circumstances (if any) should a government, school, or employer be allowed to require vaccinations?

They should never be allowed to require vaccines.

NATIONAL SECURITY

What should the United States do to help eradicate the threat of Islamic terrorism?

Is Islamic terrorism really a threat?

I support the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement to pressure Israel to withdraw from occupied territories, remove the separation barrier in the West Bank, allow full equality for Arab-Palestinian citizens of Israel, and promote the rights of Palestinian refugees.

Neutral

I do not know enough about this to speak on it.

IMMIGRATION

The U.S. should do more to physically secure the southern border.

Strongly Agree

We have a process for people to enter the United States, whether to visit, for work, to become citizens, or seeking asylum. Crossing the border illegally is not the right way to enter the United States. We need to end free passes to those who are coming here.

Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?

We have a process already in place for who can immigrate and under what circumstances.

EDUCATION

I support school choice, including voucher programs, tax credits, charter schools, private schools, and home schools.

Neutral

I believe the taxpayer funding should follow the child, but it would depend on what stipulations the government makes for those that accept that money. I would like to see the government removed from the education system.

VALUES

Judeo-Christian values established a framework of morality which is necessary for our system of limited government.

Strongly Agree

I support adding gender identity as a specially protected class in non-discrimination laws.

Disagree

This question needs re-worded for clarity. Most people are born with either XX or XY chromosomes. That is biological gender, and it is already against the law to discriminate based on that.

Marriage is a God-ordained, sacred and legal union of one man and one woman. No government has the authority to alter this definition

Strongly Agree

The government has no constitutional authority regarding marriage anyway.

I agree with Critical Race Theory (CRT) which asserts that the institutions in the United States are fundamentally racist.

Strongly Disagree

Racism existed all around the world, but for the most part the world has moved on. CRT does not allow for the mistakes of our history to be learned from.

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

I believe in God, I try to help people where I can, and I try to live my life in way that does not hurt anyone. I follow the Golden Rule to the best of my ability.

ELECTIONS AND VOTING

People should be able to vote without photo identification.

Strongly Disagree

Photo ID is not difficult to come by, and is required in so many other parts of daily life that I find it insulting when some insist that requiring a photo ID is discriminating against the poor or against a minority community.

What laws would you propose to change present voting practices?

Most people I have talked to seem to believe that voting should be only one day, in person unless confined due to illness or infirmity, and with photo ID. I would also like to remove the machines from the process. It should be on paper, counted by hand, with results called in that night.

EQUALITY

Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?

I do not think racism is a threat anymore. The groups that advocate for violence instead of conversations are a threat.

Reparations should be given to people on the basis of race.

Strongly Disagree

Many different races and nationalities have at one time or another been slaves to another race or nationality. Many have fought on behalf of slaves, to free them. It would be ridiculous to assume an individual living today to be guilty or innocent of something done by someone else decades, centuries, or millennia before they were born.

ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT

Which comes closest to your view? A) Stricter environmental laws and regulations cost too many jobs and hurt the economy. B) Stricter environmental laws and regulations are worth the cost.

Stricter environmental laws and regulations cost too many jobs and hurt the economy.

I support the use of hydraulic fracking to extract oil and natural gas resources.

Neutral

I support using methods to extract oil and natural gas resources without government control here in the United States.

ABOUT YOU

What do you think is the general purpose of government?

The purpose of the government is to operate under the will of the people. The Legislature is supposed to propose laws that their constituents want proposed. The courts are supposed to determine the Constitutionality of the laws proposed. The Governor is supposed to govern the Legislature.

When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?

Choose not to answer

I choose not to answer, because the next question wants proof of my answer. How do I prove that? If you ask my friends and family, they'll probably tell you that I am a conservative, maybe even a Constitutional Conservative, which is not listed here.

Please provide publicly available information, including interviews and media reports, validating your answer to the previous question (other than your website).

I chose not to answer the previous question, because I have no idea how to prove which one of those labels best describes me.

Have you ever been convicted of a felony or been penalized in either civil or criminal court for sexual misconduct? If so, please explain.

No

What else would you like voters to know about you, including your legislative priorities?

My legislative priorities are to listen to the people. After our local Representative has voted, I hear many people questioning why he voted that way, and that they did not agree with how he voted. They do not feel like he is representing them. I believe the people lack representation. They deserve better than they have. That is why I am running.

CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY

Police officers should be personally immune from prosecution for conduct consistent with departmental policy (qualified immunity) while on duty.

Strongly Disagree

If police officers are going to be treated as having more authority than the average citizen, they should be held to a higher standard.

I support redirecting funds from police departments to mental health and community programs.

Neutral

This question is vague and requires clarification.

2ND AMENDMENT

What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?

I do not believe any restrictions are needed. The bad guys are always able to get guns anyway, no matter what restrictions there are.

Victims of gun violence should be able to sue firearms dealers and manufacturers.

Strongly Disagree

Manufacturers and sellers cannot control what someone does with anything once that person has purchased an item and taken possession of it.
