The Social Security system has long been used as a piggy bank by our previous congressional representatives throughout the United States for their own pork barrel projects. Restricting Social Security benefits to those US citizens who have actually paid into the system would add to the health and assurance of current payments to those who are qualified to draw upon those benefits and future longevity of our system.
What government spending would you reduce in order to balance the budget?
The federal budget could be viewed in three categories: the first is mandatory spending second is discretionary spending and third is interest on federal debt. The focus for any Congressional representative is to examine and review how the federal departments which make up mandatory and discretionary spending are using your tax dollars to fund operational costs. Cost overruns, legacy expenses and private sector programs currently federally funded would be excellent candidate for reform
Under what circumstances should taxpayers help pay off existing student loans?
Student loans are incurred by the student and the family and it should not be expected of the federal government (aka, tax payers) to pay off the debt of student loans. Personal responsibility and financial accountability are the duties of every American. For some, it’s a hard life lesson but it is not a lesson to be learned by those who acted in good faith and fair dealing; financially responsible citizens to be burdened with the debt of those who did not act financially responsible

What does "separation of church and state" mean to you?
Let’s be clear: the phrase, “separation of church and state,” is not in the Constitution as many people incorrectly believe it to be. The federal government’s role is to protect religious practices and not coercing it. The federal government cannot mandate a specific religion nor can they prohibit one religion over another. Please review the First Amendment for exact wording—it’s quite clear.

How would you promote healthcare coverage that is adequate, affordable and accessible for all?
The health care issue as we all know is a very complicated matter but to simplify healthcare would start with being able to buy health care coverage across state lines as we do with any type of insurance. The fact that the healthcare industry has such a strong hold on our congressional representatives so as to create a monopoly within each state should be addressed and corrected. Free market dynamics and fair industry competition will dictate a more equitable resolution to the overpriced healthcare our country currently suffers under.

Realistically I do not know if it is possible to affectively eradicate extremism of any kind however we need to do our best to support the federal agencies that are working hard to keep the United States safe against any threat against the people of the United States

I am in favor of construction of a wall and other necessary infrastructure on our border that gives complete control over entering and exiting the United States.

Only those who follow the rules that are currently in place for immigration to the United States should be allowed into the United States. Re-examination of the H1B visa holder program is a good source for examination for potential abuse of the immigration process. Undocumented immigrants or those who have crossed the US border illegally should not be given the opportunity to apply for citizenship nor should they be allowed to stay here in the United States. E-verify rules should apply to everyone seeking employment and or local, state and federal assistance.

My message is to the Democrat voters of the Ohio Congressional 9th District: Democrat voters, your party leadership has abandon your Democrat values and has adopted a Leftist Political philosophy which is unsustainable. Send a clear message to your Democrat Leadership by no longer supporting them with your votes or your donations until they return to the values and political positions YOU identify with as a true Democrat. Why should I as a Republican, be concerned with what happens to the Democrat party? Because when the Democrat party is strong the Republican party must be stronger and when that occurs, all United States citizens will benefit. For those who consider yourselves as moderate Democrats or even conservative Democrats your voice is no longer listened to by your current leadership. Abandon them as they have you. What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?
Current restrictions on gun ownership should be rigorously enforced. New legislation may not necessarily be needed but what is needed is the enforcement of the laws we currently Have in place. Gun ownership should be restricted to US citizens only and to those US citizens who have never been convicted of a felony charge or have not been a ward of the court for metal illness. Rules are in place already for these points but better enforcement is needed

1) Term limits for all congressional members restricted to no more than 12 consecutive years for Senate and House of Representatives. 2) Mandate that all members of Congress, both Senate and House of Representatives have the same level of Health Care coverage as offered to GS-Series federal employees today and Have all members of Congress be paid on either the GS scale or the ES scale (executive service) scale. 3) The review and re-examination of H1B visa practices and abuses.
Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?
Racism is more about the direction of our moral compass as a nation; the moral health of the United States than it is a domestic threat. People often say, “it’s the economy, stupid,” when prioritizing our national issues. I suggest that the emphasis should be, “its the Moral of our nation, stupid,” that guides how rich we are as a nation. Get that right and racism disappears because we self govern based on the morals and values — not secular laws.
