QUESTIONNAIRE
RIGHT TO LIFE
Human life begins at conception and deserves legal protection at every stage until natural death.
Strongly Agree
Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive taxpayer funds or grants from federal, state, or local governments.
Strongly Agree
I support the Born Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act, which requires health care providers to provide life-saving treatment for infants who survive an attempted abortion.
Strongly Agree
Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?
My initial reaction is to say "none", but I then recall a personal circumstance where a high-risk pregnancy threatened the life of the mother, who was a loved one. Ultimately, prayers were answered and both mother and child came through, but it would have been hard to face the loss of someone dear versus taking the life of an innocent. So, while I would not necessarily condone sacrificing the child to save the mother, I could understand someone making that tough decision.
ECONOMY
It is the government’s responsibility to ensure everyone has a livable income.
Disagree
Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.
Agree
How would you guarantee Social Security benefits for future generations?
I have reviewed several concepts and proposals, but have not landed on one that I feel is fully workable. A privatization model is appealing, but ensuring or compelling participation is difficult to manage. Ideally, the government would not be responsible, but like most entitlement programs; once they start it is very hard to break the cycle, especially since many depend on the Social Security safety-net.
What government spending would you reduce in order to balance the budget?
As demonstrated in the lead-up to the impeachment proceedings, the Federal bureaucracy has grown way too big and with way too much influence. With that said, a sizable slashing of personnel would greatly reduce spending as-well-as the elimination of some entire agencies.
Under what circumstances should taxpayers help pay off existing student loans?
Under no circumstances should taxpayers pay-off existing student loans.
RELIGIOUS LIBERTY
Governments should not discriminate against individuals, organizations or small businesses because of their belief that marriage is only a union of one man and one woman.
Agree
Religious liberty is at risk in the United States and deserves the highest level of protection in the law.
Strongly Agree
I promise to protect the freedom of Christians to share the Gospel and to practice Biblical principles.
Yes
What does "separation of church and state" mean to you?
Separation of church and state as a phrase does not actually ever appear in the Constitution, but rather the Constitution states "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof. . . ." So, I take the meaning as stated in the Constitution.
HEALTHCARE
It is the government’s responsibility to ensure everyone has health insurance.
Disagree
I support the elimination of private healthcare insurance.
Disagree
How would you promote healthcare coverage that is adequate, affordable and accessible for all?
I would like to promote a return to a time when churches and religious institutions had more direct control in the administering of health care. While many current health systems maintain a religious affiliation, they are run as corporate entities. Along the same lines, allow primary doctors flexibility to negotiate rate directly with patients. Health insurance should be modeled more like car insurance; especially for preventative care. For example, I don't make an claim for a vehicle oil change.
NATIONAL SECURITY
The best way to maintain peace is through a strong military.
Agree
What should the United States do to help eradicate the threat of radical Islamic terrorism?
I am not certain it is possible to eradicate the threat, but it is possible to mitigate the threat through the prudent use of intelligence and military assets. By prudent, I mean limited and focused in scope and not used for regime change or nation building. The protracted engagements in Afghanistan and Iraq have cost us too much in both lives and money.
IMMIGRATION
I am in favor of construction of a wall and other necessary infrastructure on our border that gives complete control over entering and exiting the United States.
Strongly Agree
Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) should be abolished.
Disagree
State and federal funds should be denied to any public or private entity, including but not limited to sanctuary cities, that are not in compliance with immigration laws.
Strongly Agree
Employers should be required to use E-verify to confirm the eligibility of their employees to work in the United States.
Agree
Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?
Vetted persons with no known criminal background should be allowed to immigrate including those seeking asylum. Weight should be given based on skills and merits of the individuals. I do not support the lottery system. The annual quotas should be based on sustainable and manageable numbers of individuals. My grandparents on my mother's side were immigrants from Mexico and the process they went through was long, thorough and extensive. But, it made them appreciate the privilege of coming to the United States.
EDUCATION
Taxpayer-funded public education should be guaranteed through college.
Strongly Disagree
VALUES
Judeo-Christian values established a framework of morality which is necessary for our system of limited government.
Strongly Agree
I support adding sexual orientation, gender identity and gender expression as protected classes in non-discrimination laws.
Disagree
Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
Having spent much time with my Grandfather who was a Minister with the Disciples of Christ, I accepted Christ as my savior at the age of thirteen. But, began to backslide in my twenties and thirties and while I still believed in God, I led a very worldly life. Blessedly, in my forties I had a revival experience that brought me back home in a spiritual sense and Christ is an integral part of life on a daily basis. I am sinner saved by grace. This personal revival is part of this candidacy, as I believe almost all our national problems would be solved if, we as a country would come back to God. We are in a spiritual battle just as much as anything.

I'm an average American trying to encourage other average Americans to get politically involved. CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY
Mandatory minimum sentencing should be required and enforced for violent crimes.
Disagree
2ND AMENDMENT
What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?
No further restrictions are necessary beyond those already established for convicted felons. Additionally,in my opinion, only felons convicted of violent crimes should lose the right to posses a firearm.

Strongly Disagree
