QUESTIONNAIRE
RIGHT TO LIFE
Human life begins at conception and deserves legal protection at every stage until natural death.
Strongly Agree
Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive taxpayer funds or grants from federal, state, or local governments.
Strongly Agree
Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?
None.
ECONOMY
It is the government’s responsibility to ensure everyone has a livable income.
Strongly Disagree
Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.
Strongly Agree
What government spending would you reduce in order to balance the budget?
I believe that where fraud, waste and abuse are possible, they are probable. I believe that in virtually every facet of government, it is appropriate that serious efforts be made to eliminate inefficiencies and abuse which would help facilitate the reduction of spending.
RELIGIOUS LIBERTY
Governments should not discriminate against individuals, organizations or small businesses because of their belief that marriage is only a union of one man and one woman.
Strongly Agree
Governments should define marriage as between one man and one woman; no other definition of marriage should be legalized or supported with taxpayer or public funds.
Strongly Agree
Religious liberty is at risk in the United States and deserves the highest level of protection in the law.
Strongly Agree
I promise to protect the freedom of Christians to share the Gospel and to practice Biblical principles.
Yes
What does "separation of church and state" mean to you?
Thomas Jefferson, was the Founding Father who coined the phrase. He was also the Governor of Virginia who literally authorized State funds in order to provide Bibles to the Indian Nations. Clearly, the current promotion of the concept of the Separation of Church and State doesn’t mesh with his original views. I believe what he meant and what I believe to be true is that there should not exist an official state religion that is enforceable by the government. That is not to say that we should have policies devoid of any religious ideas. To suggest that ignores the basic truth that Leftism is itself a religion. When people on the Left suggest that we should have “Separation of Church and State” let us be clear that what they really want is a replacement of Judeo-Christian values with secular values.
HEALTHCARE
It is the government’s responsibility to ensure everyone has health insurance.
Strongly Disagree
How would you promote healthcare coverage that is adequate, affordable and accessible for all?
I believe that government should be limited to those powers expressly enumerated in the Constitution of the United States and in the Constitution of Texas. In other words, limited government and freedom is the best way to achieve the goal of a healthy nation.
NATIONAL SECURITY
The best way to maintain peace is through a strong military.
Strongly Agree
IMMIGRATION
I am in favor of construction of a wall and other necessary infrastructure on our border that gives complete control over entering and exiting the United States.
Strongly Agree
State and federal funds should be denied to any public or private entity, including but not limited to sanctuary cities, that are not in compliance with immigration laws.
Strongly Agree
Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?
Only those individuals that want to become Americans who want to embrace our national ethic of pro-freedom, pro-free market and individual responsibility and who are willing to complete the immigration process according to the law.
EDUCATION
Taxpayer-funded public education should be guaranteed through college.
Strongly Disagree
VALUES
Judeo-Christian values established a framework of morality which is necessary for our system of limited government.
Strongly Agree
I support adding sexual orientation, gender identity and gender expression as protected classes in non-discrimination laws.
Strongly Disagree
Promotion of the LGBT agenda in public schools, including teaching of “sexual orientation” and “gender identity”, is completely inappropriate and should be opposed at the state and local level.
Strongly Agree
I support allowing public high school students to participate in athletic competition based on the gender with which they identify instead of biological sex.
Strongly Disagree
Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
I am a man of faith. My relationship with my Savior is central to who I am. I am so very thankful we live in a nation founded on Judeo-Christian values. My core principles are derived from the Bible and include the sanctity of life and the protection of our God-given liberties. They are non-negotiable.
ABOUT YOU
When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and immigration, which of the following best describes you overall?
Very Conservative
Please provide publicly available information validating your answer to the previous question.
I have been publicly endorsed by men and women who know me personally, know my heart, know what I stand for and maybe more importantly what I won’t stand for. This list includes Senator Ted Cruz, Dr. James Dobson, Commissioner Sid Miller, my pastor Hector Castillo not to mention hundreds of friends and relatives. I have served on the Boards of such organizations as Prager University, Live Action and Online For Life (Human Coalition). I was also the Executive Director of the Thirteen Foundation for over six years.
What education or experience qualifies you to hold the office for which you seek election?
I don’t need or desire anything from any one in Austin. I am running so that there will be at least one man who is looking out for ordinary Texans as opposed to trying to enrich themselves or their friends on the public dole. I have a proven ability to stand up and speak when necessary for what is right even if I am alone in doing so. My background and professional experience includes evaluating organizations with regard to their business operations and effectiveness. I believe where waste, fraud and abuse can occur, they are likely to exist. I believe that before Texans are asked to pay more in taxes to the government, that government ought to be forced to become more efficient with current resources. I pledge to always advocate for exactly that.
Have you ever been convicted of a felony or been penalized for sexual misconduct? If so, please explain.
No.
Is there anything else you would like voters to know about you?
I am not a politician and never intend to be confused with a politician. I am far from perfect. But, I know who I am and what I stand for. I also know what I will not stand for. I am a man of faith, a strong conservative and a Republican, in that order. I share those rural values with my fellow Texans in this District and would be honored to earn your support. I am owned, bought and paid for by no one other than by my Saviour and the Constitution.
JUDICIAL PHILOSOPHY
I support the use of Sharia law as a basis for legislation and judicial decisions in the United States.
Strongly Disagree
CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY
Mandatory minimum sentencing should be required and enforced for violent crimes.
Strongly Agree
2ND AMENDMENT
Should teachers be allowed to carry guns at school?
Yes
What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?
I believe the laws that are currently on the books are, if anything, already too restrictive. I am specifically, although not only, interested in the removal of laws restricting firearms suppressors. I am also in favor of Constitutional Carry legislation.
OTHER IMPORTANT ISSUES
People should be able to vote without photo identification.
Strongly Disagree
I support the legalization of recreational marijuana.
Strongly Disagree
The Electoral College should be abolished.
Strongly Disagree
In priority order, what three areas of legislation do you propose to author or sponsor if elected?
I believe that stopping bad legislation is at least as important as proposing and passing new legislation. I will be happy, if all I ever do is stop bad legislation. I am, however, an advocate for and will endeavor to pass legislation that is pro-life, pro-liberty, pro-second amendment and that reduces the overall tax burden of Texans (with specific attention to lowering skyrocketing property taxes).
Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?
I believe that we should be focused on ideology rather than the color of one’s skin. I believe many on the Left have defined themselves by their promotion of the idea that everything should be viewed through the lens of race. This is the polar-opposite of what Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King promoted.
