QUESTIONNAIRE

RIGHT TO LIFE

Human life begins at conception and deserves legal protection at every stage until natural death.

Agree

Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive taxpayer funds or grants from federal, state, or local governments.

Strongly Agree

I support the Born Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act, which requires health care providers to provide life-saving treatment for infants who survive an attempted abortion.

Strongly Agree

Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?

Only if affects the Women’s health also in the case of rape.

RELIGIOUS LIBERTY

Governments should not discriminate against individuals, organizations or small businesses because of their belief that marriage is only a union of one man and one woman.

Agree

Governments should define marriage as between one man and one woman; no other definition of marriage should be legalized or supported with taxpayer or public funds.

Neutral

Religious liberty is at risk in the United States and deserves the highest level of protection in the law.

Strongly Agree

I promise to protect the freedom of Christians to share the Gospel and to practice Biblical principles.

Yes

What does "separation of church and state" mean to you?

The State will not control religious freedom

NATIONAL SECURITY

The best way to maintain peace is through a strong military.

Strongly Agree

HEALTHCARE

It is the government’s responsibility to ensure everyone has health insurance.

Disagree

How would you promote healthcare coverage that is adequate, affordable and accessible for all?

Give tax incentives to companies to insure their employees. Allow people to buy the insurance as needed. Such men don’t have the same body but issues as women. Provide catastrophic health insurance options.

ECONOMY

It is the government’s responsibility to ensure everyone has a livable income.

Disagree

Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.

Strongly Agree

What government spending would you reduce in order to balance the budget?

I would cut ridiculous grants such as research on a shrimp running on a treadmill. I would also cut the bureaucratic red tape the issues for funding need to go through to get properly funded which adds hundreds of thousands if not millions to the price tag. One example is Miami Dade County has researched public mass transit for 30 years with studies costing into the millions of dollars completely wasted. It will cost close to $40 million to study the same mass transit plan

IMMIGRATION

I am in favor of construction of a wall and other necessary infrastructure on our border that gives complete control over entering and exiting the United States.

Strongly Agree

State and federal funds should be denied to any public or private entity, including but not limited to sanctuary cities, that are not in compliance with immigration laws.

Agree

Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?

Political Asylum is an important reason. As a child of parents who fled Cuba, I understand seeking the right to have ones own political views. Those that have been properly vetted

EDUCATION

Taxpayer-funded public education should be guaranteed through college.

Disagree

CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY

Mandatory minimum sentencing should be required and enforced for violent crimes.

Disagree

2ND AMENDMENT

Should teachers be allowed to carry guns at school?

No

What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?

Gun Ownership is a Constitutional Right and should be protected. Background checks are important so is metal healthcare.

OTHER IMPORTANT ISSUES

People should be able to vote without photo identification.

Strongly Disagree

I support the legalization of recreational marijuana.

Disagree

The Electoral College should be abolished.

Strongly Disagree

In priority order, what three areas of legislation do you propose to author or sponsor if elected?

1. Reduction of Homeowners Insurance for Florida’s Elderly 2. Reimbursement of interest to local governments accumulated during disaster relief or clean up 3. People with disabilities and or their family. Affordable housing such as Section 8. Therapy is very expensive

Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?

I think that the term Racism has been introduced into every aspect of life. It is over used and claimed as an issue when one cannot agree with another’s opinions.

JUDICIAL PHILOSOPHY

I support the use of Sharia law as a basis for legislation and judicial decisions in the United States.

Strongly Disagree

ABOUT YOU

When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and immigration, which of the following best describes you overall?

Somewhat Conservative

Please provide publicly available information validating your answer to the previous question.

I believe that Governent has a responsibility to make sure all children have the opportunity to receive a proper K-12 education as well as help with vocational education. A small government is a good government. Remove all wasteful spending but properly fund social services until a person can get on their feet. Creating jobs and encouraging people to work rather than be dependent on government social services. We need a strong military and support for our service men and women as well as their families who sacrifice as well.

What education or experience qualifies you to hold the office for which you seek election?

As a firefighter for over 32 years and as an elected official, I understand the issues of local government. Dealing with both issues as an employee and employer, I can deal with the problems encountered at the local level. I’m a graduate of the Good Government Initiative and the Florida League of Cities Elected Officials training programs.

Have you ever been convicted of a felony or been penalized for sexual misconduct? If so, please explain.

No

Is there anything else you would like voters to know about you?

As a true public servant, I was taught by my mother that serving others is serving God. I come from a family of seven firefighters and five nurses. We also have a pharmacist and a Dietary manager who work in hospitals as well. I have been married to my high school sweetheart for 27 years and together a total of 33 years, she is a NICU nurse. We have three children, a 22 year old son who works and is senior at FIU, a 20 year old son who is also a firefighter and our 18 year old daughter who will be going to nursing school. All graduated with hundreds of volunteer hours.

VALUES

Judeo-Christian values established a framework of morality which is necessary for our system of limited government.

Strongly Agree

I support adding sexual orientation, gender identity and gender expression as protected classes in non-discrimination laws.

Agree

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

I’m a practicing catholic and attended catholic school for K-12.
