RIGHT TO LIFE

Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?

I believe in the God-given rights of man as stated in the Declaration of Independence, the right to Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness. Therefore, every individual has a right to life from the womb to the tomb.

Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).

If Roe v. Wade is overturned by the US Supreme Court, how far are you willing to go to roll back North Carolina's statutory abortion law that allows abortion up to 20 weeks?

When Roe v. Wade is overturned by the U.S. Supreme Court, we are prepared in North Carolina to end abortions indefinitely, while providing mothers and families with the care and resources needed to raise their children in a healthy environment.

I support 'aid in dying' laws which legalize assisted suicide and euthanasia.

The government should do more to close the gap between the working class and the wealthy.

I believe that a smaller government allows businesses and families to succeed by creating free-market competition to reduce prices and economic vitality which creates jobs to support the middle class.

We should lower taxes on working families and small businesses to enhance free-market competition to reduce prices and provide economic vitality which creates jobs to support the middle class.

Taxpayer-funded public education should be guaranteed through college.

The North Carolina Constitution provides for a sound basic education, thus providing a free (taxpayer-funded) education through High School. I believe that higher education is an opportunity that should be made affordable through reasonable tuition fees, which are kept low by the Government staying out of subsidizing higher education for the few at the cost of many.

Under no circumstances can government ever close churches. We live in a nation and state where all are free to worship.

What should be the relationship between the church and the state?

As a Christian conservative, I believe that the body of Christ plays an important role in all aspects of society, including government and politics. Whereas the separation of church and state was originally intended to keep government out of the business of the church, not to keep Christians out of government.


HEALTHCARE

What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D)Tax-payer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be de-funded.

I believe that health care should be accessible and affordable for all, which comes as a result of free-market capitalism. When the government subsidizes anything, competition is reduced and the cost increases for all.

Under what circumstances (if any) should a government, school, or employer be allowed to require vaccinations?

Vaccines should be available to all who desire them, not forced upon anyone by the government.


EDUCATION

States should allow parents to use the Opportunity Scholarship Program to fund private school for their children.

In what situations does a parent not have the right to know what their child is being taught in public school?

At the top of my legislative agenda is a Parents’ Bill of Rights, to include parents having access to the curriculum being taught in the classroom, a right to opt-out of guest lecturers or certain social topics, background information on who is teaching their child, sufficient accountability and transparency, and access to any information that is being collected on their child and where it’s being dispersed.

When should parents be restricted from speaking in school board meetings?

Parents should never be restricted from speaking in school board meetings.

I am a Christian conservative who believes in constitutional freedom and pro-family policy.


ELECTIONS AND VOTING

People should be able to vote without photo identification.

I’m proud to support Voter ID, along with the vast majority of North Carolinians. Recently, liberal activist judges have sought to overrule the will of the people and the constitution itself by eliminating the requirement for Voter ID. The N.C. Constitution is clear: “Voters offering to vote in person shall present photographic identification before voting.” (Article VI, Sec 2.4). We must not allow partisan activist judges to overturn the constitution and the will of the people.

What laws would you propose to change present voting practices?

I would strengthen voter integrity and eliminate fraud in our elections process by implementing constitutional Voter ID and ensuring that no ballots are accepted after Election Day.


EQUALITY

Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?

I believe that man should be judged not by the color of his skin, but by the content of his character. That's why, I support the notion that everyone be protected equally under the law. We all have a right to feel safe to live freely, and I believe that our current law provides for this security.


ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT

Which comes closest to your view? A) Stricter environmental laws and regulations cost too many jobs and hurt the economy. B) Stricter environmental laws and regulations are worth the cost.

I believe capitalism and free markets are the solution to a cost-effective sustainably energy future in North Carolina.

The purpose of government is expressed clearly in the preamble to the Constitution: ‘‘We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.’’

What else would you like voters to know about you, including your legislative priorities?

Since elected, I have stood up against the Joe Biden & Roy Cooper agenda and worked in opposition to their mask and vaccine mandates. I’ve also fought hard against critical race theory indoctrination in schools, I’ve stopped all efforts by the Left to defund the police, and I’ve continued to protect the lives of the unborn and defend our 2nd Amendment rights. This session, I sponsored legislation to repeal the racist “Jim Crow” pistol purchase permit requirements. With all due respect to all other candidates, you’ll be hard-pressed to find another candidate as strong on protecting our 2nd Amendment freedoms. I hope to have the opportunity to meet with each and every one of you, because I understand that representing your interests starts with listening to you, not the Raleigh establishment.
