OTHER INFORMATION

QUESTIONNAIRE

RIGHT TO LIFE

Human life begins at conception and deserves legal protection at every stage until natural death.

Strongly Agree

Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive taxpayer funds or grants from federal, state, or local governments.

Strongly Agree

I support the Born Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act, which requires health care providers to provide life-saving treatment for infants who survive an attempted abortion.

Strongly Agree

Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?

While I can sympathize with those who have made the decision to abort, in order to save the life of the mother, I personally think abortion is wrong in every instance. I believe that life is in God's hands. He gives and He takes away.

ECONOMY

It is the government’s responsibility to ensure everyone has a livable income.

Strongly Disagree

Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.

Strongly Agree

How would you guarantee Social Security benefits for future generations?

I think that every single person, above a certain (agreed upon) age, should get EVERY DIME of money that they were promised. It is not the people's fault that politicians stole the money from the "lock box". Then, after that is taken care of, for all those under the "agreed upon" age, they should be allowed to invest their money privately (if they so choose). I for one, don't see how we can keep Social Security going if we can't trust the government not to steal the money...again.

What government spending would you reduce in order to balance the budget?

All spending. Government is bloated. We need a strong defense budget, and our national infrastructure is desperate need of improvement...but every other agency and expenditure is infinitely "cuttable". Especially those institutions that are filled with unelected/unaccountable bureaucrats.

Under what circumstances should taxpayers help pay off existing student loans?

Tax payers should not be penalized for other taxpayers choices. That being said, the reason prices of college tuition have skyrocketed over the past few years, is because the government took over the "student loan industry". When that happened, the free market (to regulate prices) stopped working. If you get the government out of college education, the prices will come down, and then our future generations can afford college again!

RELIGIOUS LIBERTY

Governments should not discriminate against individuals, organizations or small businesses because of their belief that marriage is only a union of one man and one woman.

Strongly Agree

Religious liberty is at risk in the United States and deserves the highest level of protection in the law.

Strongly Agree

I promise to protect the freedom of Christians to share the Gospel and to practice Biblical principles.

Yes

What does "separation of church and state" mean to you?

"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof..." It seems to me that Thomas Jefferson's meaning was a simple one...the government shall NOT establish a mandatory religion or prohibit people from worshiping freely. It means what it says and we shouldn't bow to the whims of the few who want to take that clause and use it to keep God out of every aspect of our daily lives, our schools, and our culture.

HEALTHCARE

It is the government’s responsibility to ensure everyone has health insurance.

Strongly Disagree

I support the elimination of private healthcare insurance.

Strongly Disagree

How would you promote healthcare coverage that is adequate, affordable and accessible for all?

Government needs to be out of healthcare. You don't want politicians and government bureaucrats deciding who and how your family gets covered. We need to ask doctors, insurance professionals, and other health care providers for solutions. Then, the only role the government should have is to keep the playing field "fair". That way, doctors and patients could solve this locally. Everything the government touches gets more expensive and more cumbersome...get the government (and politicians) out of healthcare.

NATIONAL SECURITY

The best way to maintain peace is through a strong military.

Strongly Agree

What should the United States do to help eradicate the threat of radical Islamic terrorism?

Radical Islam has been at war with Christianity for over a thousand years. They hate us because we are the West, they hate us because we are (or at least have been) predominantly Christian, and they hate us because we are "non-believers" (infidels). As long as we are infidels...as long as we proclaim Christianity, as long as we are the West...they will hate us. We need to give our military and intelligence institutions all the tools they need to keep track of the terrorists so that we can be protected from their hate...but, they will always hate us...no matter what we do. Always.

IMMIGRATION

I am in favor of construction of a wall and other necessary infrastructure on our border that gives complete control over entering and exiting the United States.

Strongly Agree

Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) should be abolished.

Strongly Disagree

State and federal funds should be denied to any public or private entity, including but not limited to sanctuary cities, that are not in compliance with immigration laws.

Strongly Agree

Employers should be required to use E-verify to confirm the eligibility of their employees to work in the United States.

Strongly Agree

Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?

Anyone that we "choose" and has been thoroughly vetted. We are and should be a compassionate country...we should let in as many "vetted" peoples as possible if they need protection or can help our country in any way. But, we cannot have open borders. We have to protect our home.

EDUCATION

Taxpayer-funded public education should be guaranteed through college.

Strongly Disagree

VALUES

Judeo-Christian values established a framework of morality which is necessary for our system of limited government.

Strongly Agree

I support adding sexual orientation, gender identity and gender expression as protected classes in non-discrimination laws.

iVoterGuide Notes:

From the candidate: "I do NOT want employers FORCED into having to hire people that they fundamentally disagree with, but I also do not want any American to be discriminated against when it comes to access to goods and services. I wish the question were more specific."

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

I am a conservative Christian. I have been in full-time ministry for almost 25 years. During that time, I have fought for Truth, called out lies, and done my best to "love my neighbor" in ways that wins hearts and minds. Jesus never backed down from Truth, He always stood firm...He showed us how to win the battle. He ran into the darkness with His great light...and won. Washington DC has grown dark...it could use a lot of that light.

ABOUT YOU

When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and immigration, which of the following best describes you overall?

Very Conservative

Please provide publicly available information validating your answer to the previous question.

I was raised in a conservative town, by conservative parents. I went to a conservative university (Texas A&M). I have served in conservative christian churches and led conservative christian ministries.

Have you ever been convicted of a felony or been penalized for sexual misconduct? If so, please explain.

No.

Is there anything else you would like voters to know about you?

I'm not a politician :) I'm just a regular guy who loves north Texas and who hates what he sees in Washington DC. I think it's time we elect representatives who actually represent us...and I don't, currently, feel represented. Do you? I kept waiting for our Party to nominate someone I truly believed in...who I could wholeheartedly support. I kept waiting and waiting. We have politicians who have been there for decades who seem happy to just "be there" and vote. We need leaders today who will, daily, push back on the Left, advance the cause of conservatism, and fight for traditional values. Voting "correctly" is not enough any more. We need people in the fight. It's a battle for the heart and soul of our country, and we need representatives who feel that angst, and that urgency to defeat the Left...not just vote against them. I feel that urgency, and I've fought for these values, here locally, for 20 plus years. Come join me in the fight.

CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY

Mandatory minimum sentencing should be required and enforced for violent crimes.

Strongly Agree

2ND AMENDMENT

What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?

Guns are not the problem. Evil men will commit evil acts. Cain killed Abel with a rock. The 9/11 terrorists used box cutters and airplanes. In 2016, a man in France rented a cargo truck and ran it through a crowd of people...killing 86 and wounding over 400 others. If you take God out of our country, out of our schools, out of our governments...then don't be surprised when people act god-less. Evil men will commit evil acts.

OTHER IMPORTANT ISSUES

I support BDS (boycott, divestment, and sanction) against Israel if they refuse to allow the creation of a Palestinian state.

Strongly Disagree

I support the legalization of recreational marijuana.

Disagree

Reparations should be given to people on the basis of race.

Strongly Disagree

The Electoral College should be abolished.

Strongly Disagree

In priority order, what three areas of legislation do you propose to author or sponsor if elected?

Anything that promotes protecting Life. Anything that shrinks the federal government. Balanced Budget. Freedom of Speech protection.

Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?

Racism is evil, and where it exists, it's an abomination. If we have people in our own country who hate other people because of the color of their skin, then that is obviously a threat to domestic security. With that kind of hate inside, our nation would crumble from within.
