Abortion should be an available option for victims of rape, incest or those impregnated through manipulation because of cognitive impairment or developmental disability. There also needs to be a process to protect babies when drug users and those that become repeatedly pregnant abuse the systems.

To paraphrase two of our Founding Fathers: Thomas Jefferson and James Madison believed that without separating church from state, there could be no real religious freedom. Religious leaders should not make and enforce laws and governments should not restrict free worship.

How would you promote healthcare coverage that is adequate, affordable and accessible for all?
"Healthcare coverage" is not synonymous with "medical healthcare coverage." Having insurance may increase the quantity of care you get, but it does not guarantee the high-quality care you may need. Private NOT government-run healthcare insurance is the only option that provides the highest levels of coverage. A "one-size-fits-all" government health care system can not address the individual needs of our population. Surrendering healthcare to bureaucrats is not a viable solution; it has proven a disaster already. Tort reform legislation is needed to limit liabilities for doctors and medical facilities and enable private market insurance companies to offer provide coverage at affordable rates. Indigent individuals will continue to get health protection through local and state programs.

I am currently a member of the King of Glory Lutheran Church in Tempe where my children were confirmed. As Christians, we are obliged to be calm, kind, forgiving and nonjudgmental.

My basic position is smaller government, lower taxes, more freedom and a balanced budget. Described by a liberal friend of mine as platitudes, I believe they are the foundations of freedom. Socialism destroys freedom and freedom is what has made and kept America strong. The 1st and 2nd Amendments are under attack and must be protected. At the same time not all Democratic ideas are all wrong and not all Republican ideas are all correct. We have remained strong by reaching common agreement on important issues.

I retired as a Senior Special Agent for the United States Customs Service following a 35 year law enforcement career. He then established a small private investigations company, also offering process server and security guard services. Active in the community, I ahve served as president of Kiwanis Club of Tempe-Sunrise and the volunteer, non-profit Walker Fire Protection Association near Prescott, AZ. A wage earner all of my life, Although I lost Millie to illness after 56 years of marriage, our home is still family-central for our adult children, grandchildren and all others considered "adopted family."
