QUESTIONNAIRE

RIGHT TO LIFE

Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?

I believe the process of abortion is antiquated. There is no longer a need for abortion. Babies can be given to a mother that would want them. Pregnancy is preventable. It is no longer needed to protect lives. If you look at the statistics, abortion actually causes deaths more than it could ever save.

Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).

Strongly Agree

Taxpayers should not be forced to fund abortion

I support 'aid in dying' laws which legalize assisted suicide and euthanasia.

Strongly Disagree

Death will happen when God and the person is ready for it.

ECONOMY

What changes, if any, should be made to the tax code?

Our economy is in a bad state right now. Yet, the taxes are all the same. My stimulus checks went to pay all the high taxes. They should be reduced to match the income ratios.

What government spending would you reduce in order to balance the budget?

There is lots of wasteful spending. I would go line by line and remove it. Just like we did with Burton City Council and our Budget. As a team did we did an excellent job!

Taxpayer-funded public education should be guaranteed through college.

Disagree

There are already programs that people with low income can use to earn their way through college. If gov. pays everyone for college, it will create a whole new problem. Tuition rates would go up even higher and tax payers would have to pay more taxes in a struggling economy. It is better to make college more affordable and provide for training for jobs in skilled trade or apprenticeships. There is a shortage of qualified workers. Increased taxes would only make more inflation.

RELIGIOUS LIBERTY

Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.

Strongly Disagree

No one should be forced to to violate their religious or moral beliefs. People should respect other peoples beliefs. It is one of our rights as citizens under the Constitution. "Freedom of Religion.

Under what circumstances can government close churches?

Under no circumstances should a government be able to come in and close a church. That should be left up to the pastors and the church leadership. Of course, if they are breaking laws, then police have the right to Intervene and/or give them ample warning of the violations of the laws.

HEALTHCARE

What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D)Tax-payer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be de-funded.

As you may have noticed, when you have government run health care, it is not run as efficiently as a private run healthcare system. It causes increased costs to the system. If we chose only government run health care, then government and that system would set the price of the healthcare. They could raise it anytime they wanted to. They could increase their own pay. The people would have no choice. There would be no competition. So the care would go down just as it did with our veterans. It is not a good idea. The best idea is to keep the prices low so that the people can afford it. We should have Health care that we can put our money in. We should be able to choose whether or not to use it. People who don't use the healthcare, should get rewarded. They should be encouraged to be healthy and not use the healthcare system all the time. They should be encouraged to prevent health situations. And if they are not using the system and taking money out of the system they should be given lower rates.

Under what circumstances (if any) should a government, school, or employer be allowed to require vaccinations?

Under no circumstances should anyone be forced to have a vaccination. There are many people whose rights it goes against. Many religions believe that you are not to pollute your blood. They do not believe in vaccinations. Vaccinations are to remain optional. Michigan has a law already in place that makes all vaccinations optional. We need to respect those rights of the people who do not want vaccinations. Forcing a vaccination Of any kind completely violates our constitutional laws. If they cannot guarantee 100% the safety of the person getting the vaccination, which they can not, then they have no right to force them to get a vaccination and put their life at risk.

NATIONAL SECURITY

What should the United States do to help eradicate the threat of Islamic terrorism?

We just need to keep doing what our president Trump was doing. Make sure we patrol our borders and keep people who are on the terror list out of our country. Keep our eyes open. Do the proper vetting for people who are allowed over our borders.

I support the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement to pressure Israel to withdraw from occupied territories, remove the separation barrier in the West Bank, allow full equality for Arab-Palestinian citizens of Israel, and promote the rights of Palestinian refugees.

Neutral

I believe we need to let Israel run their own country.

IMMIGRATION

The U.S. should do more to physically secure the southern border.

Strongly Agree

We need to finish building the wall and continue patrolling the borders.

Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?

They should use the proper procedures to immigrate to the US. There is a reason for these procedures. They protect the people of the United States from terrorists sneaking into our country undetected . They also protect us from drug lords and the gang members who want to do dur citizens harm.

EDUCATION

I support school choice, including voucher programs, tax credits, charter schools, private schools, and home schools.

Agree

The people should have the right to choose where their children go to school and what kind of education they are getting.

VALUES

Judeo-Christian values established a framework of morality which is necessary for our system of limited government.

Agree

Our country was founded on the use of the 10 commandments.

I support adding gender identity as a specially protected class in non-discrimination laws.

Disagree

The non discrimination laws already include All people.

Marriage is a God-ordained, sacred and legal union of one man and one woman. No government has the authority to alter this definition

Agree

Government should not interfere with State Rights. The government has forgotten they work for the people. What they did was beyond their branches ability.. The courts created their own laws.. They are the judicial branch. Not the Legislative branch. The same was done with Abortion. And recently, they ruled that healthcare facilities are allowed to force vaccinate their workers. This is more overreach They should have been protecting our individual rights guaranteed by our Constitution

I agree with Critical Race Theory (CRT) which asserts that the institutions in the United States are fundamentally racist.

Disagree

Indoctrination should not be part of our education system.

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

I believe we need to treat others the way that we like to be treated. I believe that our body is God's temple. I believe that when we treat others poorly that it affects us as well. There is no place for negative emotions such as hatred or anger. People need to deal with these kinds of emotions properly. We need to have love, joy, peace, long suffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness and temperance. We need to put Jesus 1st Others 2nd and yourselves last. That is the way that we have joy. If we concentrate more on other people then we won't worry so much about ourselves. Others can watch out for us and we will watch out for them. We all take care of each other. I believe in being generous with my time and my gifts.

ELECTIONS AND VOTING

People should be able to vote without photo identification.

Strongly Disagree

We need identification for a lot of different things there is no reason why we cannot have identification for voting in all 50 States.

What laws would you propose to change present voting practices?

We need to make sure that the elections are secured from ballot harvesting and misuse of drop boxes. When the drop boxes were introduced they were temporary. How long will the temporary use of ballot dropboxes be used? We, the people, need to to be the ones to make sure temporary does not become permanent. I believe they are no longer needed. People used to have to show ID to vote to prove it was their ballot. How do we know that those ballots dropped into the drop boxes were not harvestied? They could be delivering 2 or 3 at a time for the 2 months they are given to vote. We need to vote in person. We should make voting days national holidays. Many people do not get to vote because they do not have the time from work to do so unless they vote absentee. It would also give people a chance to be able to work in the elections. We would no longer have a problem getting the volunteers for elections and the ballot counting machines would not be necessary.

EQUALITY

Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?

No. Racism is not a threat . There is no evidence to suggest that. It is only being used for political advancement.

Reparations should be given to people on the basis of race.

Choose not to answer

ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT

Which comes closest to your view? A) Stricter environmental laws and regulations cost too many jobs and hurt the economy. B) Stricter environmental laws and regulations are worth the cost.

A

I support the use of hydraulic fracking to extract oil and natural gas resources.

Neutral

There are environmentally safe ways to get American clean, pure oil. We do not need to buy dirty oil from other countries.

ABOUT YOU

What do you think is the general purpose of government?

The purpose of government is to serve the people.

When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?

CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY

Police officers should be personally immune from prosecution for conduct consistent with departmental policy (qualified immunity) while on duty.

Neutral

We should support our police but still hold them to high standards.

I support redirecting funds from police departments to mental health and community programs.

Strongly Disagree

I think we can get our money from other places. We don't need to take it from the police. There is plenty of wasteful spending that we can find. Police are already underfunded.

2ND AMENDMENT

What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?

The restrictions already in place are plenty for public safety from guns.

Victims of gun violence should be able to sue firearms dealers and manufacturers.
