QUESTIONNAIRE
RIGHT TO LIFE
Human life begins at conception and deserves legal protection at every stage until natural death.
Agree
Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive taxpayer funds or grants from federal, state, or local governments.
Neutral
I support the Born Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act, which requires health care providers to provide life-saving treatment for infants who survive an attempted abortion.
Strongly Agree
Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?
When determined as necessary by the parents and their doctor, I see this as a moral and ethical decision for the parents and their health care provider not the government.
RELIGIOUS LIBERTY
Governments should not discriminate against individuals, organizations or small businesses because of their belief that marriage is only a union of one man and one woman.
Agree
Governments should define marriage as between one man and one woman; no other definition of marriage should be legalized or supported with taxpayer or public funds.
Disagree
Religious liberty is at risk in the United States and deserves the highest level of protection in the law.
Strongly Agree
I promise to protect the freedom of Christians to share the Gospel and to practice Biblical principles.
Yes
What does "separation of church and state" mean to you?
Every person in office will rely on the values they grew up with when forming opinions or plans for their respective office. However, we must all work diligently to ensure the government does not place a preference on any religion or set of religious ideals. To do so would allow all religions and religious ideals and would result in utter chaos.
NATIONAL SECURITY
The best way to maintain peace is through a strong military.
Agree
HEALTHCARE
It is the government’s responsibility to ensure everyone has health insurance.
Disagree
How would you promote healthcare coverage that is adequate, affordable and accessible for all?
Extending Medicare to cover low income families and providing legislation requiring health insurance providers to cover an individual from head to toe including dental and vision coverage under their primary plan.
ECONOMY
It is the government’s responsibility to ensure everyone has a livable income.
Disagree
Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.
Strongly Agree
What government spending would you reduce in order to balance the budget?
Elected official salaries and non-essential services
IMMIGRATION
I am in favor of construction of a wall and other necessary infrastructure on our border that gives complete control over entering and exiting the United States.
Agree
State and federal funds should be denied to any public or private entity, including but not limited to sanctuary cities, that are not in compliance with immigration laws.
Agree
Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?
Anyone and everyone who has no criminal history. We are a nation of immigrants and I don't see that ever changing. However I believe that if a person supports the individual looking for a better life they must support legal immigration over illegal immigration.
EDUCATION
Taxpayer-funded public education should be guaranteed through college.
Disagree
CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY
Mandatory minimum sentencing should be required and enforced for violent crimes.
Agree
2ND AMENDMENT
Should teachers be allowed to carry guns at school?
Yes
What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?
I believe the second amendment to the US constitution is very clear however I do support denying gun ownership to the medically diagnosed mentally unstable and criminals. Any proposed legislation would have to show it will deny gun ownership to criminals and the medically diagnosed mentally unstable, not law abiding citizens, before I would support it.
OTHER IMPORTANT ISSUES
People should be able to vote without photo identification.
Disagree
I support the legalization of recreational marijuana.
Neutral
The Electoral College should be abolished.
Strongly Disagree
In priority order, what three areas of legislation do you propose to author or sponsor if elected?
1) Checks and balances to the emergency powers of the state governors and local officials 2) Term limits to the US Congress 3) Control of state government spending
Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?
Racism is definitely a threat, not only to our security but to our American ideal of equality for all and the American dream. To place any race over another is to me the very definition of un-American.
JUDICIAL PHILOSOPHY
I support the use of Sharia law as a basis for legislation and judicial decisions in the United States.
Strongly Disagree
ABOUT YOU
When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and immigration, which of the following best describes you overall?
Conservative
Please provide publicly available information validating your answer to the previous question.
I am running for office under the Republican ticket
What education or experience qualifies you to hold the office for which you seek election?
I have a Masters in Business and 23 years leadership training and experience in the US Air Force.
Have you ever been convicted of a felony or been penalized for sexual misconduct? If so, please explain.
Absolutely not. I spent 10 years in the military as a Victims Advocate for the base Sexual Assault Coordinator assisting those impacted by sexual assault and teaching sexual assault awareness and bystander intervention classes to all base personnel
Is there anything else you would like voters to know about you?
Like most people I know, I have grown increasingly frustrated with our government and elected officials over the last several election cycles. One of the many lessons I learned while in the military is that it does no good to simply complain, no matter how loud you get or how right you think you are. If you want something to change you must get involved, this is why I have decided to run for the State Senate position and am looking forward to representing all the men and women of Legislative District 2.
VALUES
Judeo-Christian values established a framework of morality which is necessary for our system of limited government.
Neutral
I support adding sexual orientation, gender identity and gender expression as protected classes in non-discrimination laws.
Neutral
Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
As a veteran I have traveled extensively around the world. I have seen religion used for the betterment of a community and its destruction. I consider myself to be spiritual but not religious and the government should not infringe on any persons belief nor should it support one over another as long as they are not infringing on other peoples rights as defined under the constitution and applicable laws.
