QUESTIONNAIRE

RIGHT TO LIFE

Human life begins at conception and deserves legal protection at every stage until natural death.

Strongly Agree

Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive taxpayer funds or grants from federal, state, or local governments.

Strongly Agree

I support the Born Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act, which requires health care providers to provide life-saving treatment for infants who survive an attempted abortion.

Strongly Agree

Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?

I do not believe that there are any circumstances wherein abortion should be allowed.

RELIGIOUS LIBERTY

Governments should not discriminate against individuals, organizations or small businesses because of their belief that marriage is only a union of one man and one woman.

Strongly Agree

Religious liberty is at risk in the United States and deserves the highest level of protection in the law.

Strongly Agree

I promise to protect the freedom of Christians to share the Gospel and to practice Biblical principles.

Yes

What does "separation of church and state" mean to you?

Church and state/government are separate and have two distinct roles in our society. The government's role is to legislate and enforce the law. In my mind, the church provides a more heavenly ideal, a moral compass, perhaps, so that we can strive to be better than we may be. The church should never be forced to adjust its beliefs or ideals to conform to the government's needs.

NATIONAL SECURITY

The best way to maintain peace is through a strong military.

Strongly Agree

What should the United States do to help eradicate the threat of radical Islamic terrorism?

The United States needs to maintain a strong military presence both domestically and abroad. We must not be afraid to flex our military muscle and make the tough decisions to take the fight directly to terrorist organizations on their own home turf.

HEALTHCARE

It is the government’s responsibility to ensure everyone has health insurance.

Agree

I support the elimination of private healthcare insurance.

Strongly Disagree

How would you promote healthcare coverage that is adequate, affordable and accessible for all?

In order for healthcare coverage to be adequate, affordable, and accessible for all, I think the federal government needs to be involved in the process. I believe that simple economics -- supply and demand -- can be used to promote better and more affordable coverage. We cannot have states and localities attempting to circumvent healthcare. I believe that our elected leaders should get a taste of the healthcare coverage that average Americans possess with no special treatment or added benefits.

ECONOMY

It is the government’s responsibility to ensure everyone has a livable income.

Strongly Disagree

Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.

Strongly Agree

How would you guarantee Social Security benefits for future generations?

We need to balance the budget and our representatives needs to stop supporting pet projects that benefit few people. We need a leaner and meaner government that is more efficient and economical in its processes.

What government spending would you reduce in order to balance the budget?

Pet projects and social entitlements. We need to stop funding things like abortion and birth control. We need to decrease the size of our government.

Under what circumstances should taxpayers help pay off existing student loans?

The simple answer is none. I do not know where you could ever think to draw the line. It is not fair or beneficial to provide benefits to some, likely recent graduates, without affording the same to others who have religiously paid (or even paid off) their student loans.

IMMIGRATION

I am in favor of construction of a wall and other necessary infrastructure on our border that gives complete control over entering and exiting the United States.

Strongly Agree

Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) should be abolished.

Strongly Disagree

State and federal funds should be denied to any public or private entity, including but not limited to sanctuary cities, that are not in compliance with immigration laws.

Strongly Agree

Employers should be required to use E-verify to confirm the eligibility of their employees to work in the United States.

Strongly Agree

Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?

The United States is and has always been a country that is open to legal immigration. That should never change. Together, we can create a better nation with a bright future. However, immigration must occur legally. Everyone seeking to participate in the great benefits of our Country needs to follow the legal process to do so.

EDUCATION

Taxpayer-funded public education should be guaranteed through college.

Disagree

CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY

Mandatory minimum sentencing should be required and enforced for violent crimes.

Strongly Agree

2ND AMENDMENT

What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?

I fully support the 2nd Amendment and the right to bear arms. However, I do not believe that criminals should have access to weapons of any sort. If you are a law abiding citizen, I believe you have the inherent right to own a gun and defend your person and property.

OTHER IMPORTANT ISSUES

I support BDS (boycott, divestment, and sanction) against Israel if they refuse to allow the creation of a Palestinian state.

Strongly Disagree

I support the legalization of recreational marijuana.

Neutral

Reparations should be given to people on the basis of race.

Strongly Disagree

The Electoral College should be abolished.

Strongly Disagree

In priority order, what three areas of legislation do you propose to author or sponsor if elected?

Reduced prescription drug prices. Better infrastructure. Generally, legislation that ensures that our American citizens are treated respectfully and with deference to their citizenship; we need to stop rewarding illegal immigrants with the rights and benefits that this great Country provides.

Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?

Racism should not be a threat to our domestic security; however, it has proven to be a divisive talking point that gains media attention and public outcry. If we could find a way to end political rhetoric and bravado, I tend to believe that we would learn that we are all very similar to one another and the color of our skin or religious backgrounds really does not matter.

ABOUT YOU

When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and immigration, which of the following best describes you overall?

Somewhat Conservative

Please provide publicly available information validating your answer to the previous question.

I believe my voting history and public stances on applicable issues are consistent with my statement.

Have you ever been convicted of a felony or been penalized for sexual misconduct? If so, please explain.

No.

Is there anything else you would like voters to know about you?

I want to be approachable. I want to hear from those that live in TX/18 and beyond. I feel strongly that my representative hasn’t been doing my bidding and I want to make a change and listen to those that might vote for me. Reach out, on my social media and let us engage with one another. Together, we can make a difference.

VALUES

Judeo-Christian values established a framework of morality which is necessary for our system of limited government.

Strongly Agree

I support adding sexual orientation, gender identity and gender expression as protected classes in non-discrimination laws.

Strongly Agree

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

I was raised in a religious family and strongly believe in God. I think faith is a necessary element of our being and I try to lead a life that is in God's image. I am frequently guided by a moral compass and I think the "Golden Rule" should be implemented more frequently than it is. I believe in equality and compassion for all.
