QUESTIONNAIRE
RIGHT TO LIFE
Human life begins at conception and deserves legal protection at every stage until natural death.
Agree
Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive taxpayer funds or grants from federal, state, or local governments.
Agree
I support the Born Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act, which requires health care providers to provide life-saving treatment for infants who survive an attempted abortion.
Agree
Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?
Rape, incest, and the health of the mother.
ECONOMY
It is the government’s responsibility to ensure everyone has a livable income.
No Answer
Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.
Agree
How would you guarantee Social Security benefits for future generations?
Promises made are promises kept. We need to do everything in our power to protect social security for future generations.
What government spending would you reduce in order to balance the budget?
There is waste, fraud, and abuse across the spectrum that can be cut over time to balance the budget. It's time to shine a light on every corner of government and challenge the bureaucracy to find places to cut costs. The Federal government is bloated and it's time to bring fiscal responsibility to Congress.
Under what circumstances should taxpayers help pay off existing student loans?
Student loans are accepted to by both parties into the agreement. Student's agreed to accept these loans and they are accountable for them. I do not support high interest loans being used and I believe that universities and secondary education institutions should make it their goal to cut costs to keep tuition flat.
RELIGIOUS LIBERTY
Governments should not discriminate against individuals, organizations or small businesses because of their belief that marriage is only a union of one man and one woman.
No Answer
Religious liberty is at risk in the United States and deserves the highest level of protection in the law.
Agree
I promise to protect the freedom of Christians to share the Gospel and to practice Biblical principles.
Yes
What does "separation of church and state" mean to you?
Faith plays an important role in many lives and that is the guiding light for many of us, including me. However, separation of church and state is a founding principal in our constitution. The government should only ensure that people have the right to exercise their religion freely. My faith is what guides me, but it should not be the governments job to dictate morality.
HEALTHCARE
It is the government’s responsibility to ensure everyone has health insurance.
Disagree
I support the elimination of private healthcare insurance.
Disagree
How would you promote healthcare coverage that is adequate, affordable and accessible for all?
A socialist takeover of our healthcare system is not the answer. A free market, patient focused, and efficient healthcare solution is needed. I believe we open up the market to allow insurance companies to compete across state lines, allow generic prescriptions get to market faster, and increase transparency in medical billing are good first steps. Lowering drug and healthcare related costs are key to lowering premiums and increasing access to more Americans, also making quality care more affordable for employers.
NATIONAL SECURITY
The best way to maintain peace is through a strong military.
Agree
What should the United States do to help eradicate the threat of radical Islamic terrorism?
A strong military is key to maintaining our position in the world. Radical terrorism in any form is not acceptable and we must continue to take action to eradicate their sources of resources, recruits, and their hold over certain rogue governments.
IMMIGRATION
I am in favor of construction of a wall and other necessary infrastructure on our border that gives complete control over entering and exiting the United States.
Agree
Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) should be abolished.
Disagree
State and federal funds should be denied to any public or private entity, including but not limited to sanctuary cities, that are not in compliance with immigration laws.
Neutral
Employers should be required to use E-verify to confirm the eligibility of their employees to work in the United States.
Neutral
Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?
The United States is founded on immigration. I am a second generation American, my grandparents on both sides of my family are immigrants from Holland. The United States is the one place in the world where anyone can move to and become Americans! Through my family's farm I have seen immigrants build their lives, and ensure a better life for their children. The American dream is alive and well, and those who wish to participate and be productive and embrace America culture should be welcome. However, we need to know who is coming in. I support securing our southern border, but put a door with a door bell. People do not leave their front doors open and unlocked, neither should the United States. However, securing the border and immigration are two different issues. We need a streamlined immigration system that tells us who is coming in, their intentions in the United States, and whether they will be a benefit to our society.
EDUCATION
Taxpayer-funded public education should be guaranteed through college.
Disagree
VALUES
Judeo-Christian values established a framework of morality which is necessary for our system of limited government.
Neutral
I support adding sexual orientation, gender identity and gender expression as protected classes in non-discrimination laws.
Agree
Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
I was raised in a tight knit christian family. My family and I have always tried to put God at the center of everything we do. I know if I put God first, then everything else will fall into place. Growing up, life took place around our kitchen table. My five older brother and I all had our assigned seat, and every evening my family would eat and discuss our day. I was raised in the Methodist Church in Clovis, NM, and I now attend Citizen Church in Albuquerque.
ABOUT YOU
When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and immigration, which of the following best describes you overall?
Conservative
Please provide publicly available information validating your answer to the previous question.
I am lifelong Republican and have worked for Conservative members of the United States Senate. As mentioned before, I grew up in rural New Mexico and on my family's dairy, we learned the value of hard work, the earned dollar, and how to be fiscally responsible. I was raised with the mentality that when you work for it and you earn it, you appreciate it, but when its given one takes it for granted. We have to as Americans take responsibly for our own actions, because when we are responsible for ourselves we do not need government in our lives.
Have you ever been convicted of a felony or been penalized for sexual misconduct? If so, please explain.
No
Is there anything else you would like voters to know about you?
I am political outsider running to take on the DC establishment that has left too many New Mexicans behind. I look at every issue with care and want to hear from everyone, then take the best action possible for the First Congressional District of New Mexico.
CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY
Mandatory minimum sentencing should be required and enforced for violent crimes.
Neutral
2ND AMENDMENT
What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?
The Second Amendment is clear, shall not be infringed. Current laws are sufficient and should be enforced.
OTHER IMPORTANT ISSUES
I support BDS (boycott, divestment, and sanction) against Israel if they refuse to allow the creation of a Palestinian state.
Disagree
I support the legalization of recreational marijuana.
No Answer
Reparations should be given to people on the basis of race.
Disagree
The Electoral College should be abolished.
Disagree
In priority order, what three areas of legislation do you propose to author or sponsor if elected?
Did not answer
Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?
There is no place for racism in the America that I love.
