QUESTIONNAIRE

RIGHT TO LIFE

Human life begins at conception and deserves legal protection at every stage until natural death.

Strongly Agree

Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive taxpayer funds or grants from federal, state, or local governments.

Strongly Agree

I support the Born Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act, which requires health care providers to provide life-saving treatment for infants who survive an attempted abortion.

Strongly Agree

Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?

The first right that is explicitly laid out in the Declaration is the right to life. This is the most fundamental right. There can be no discussion of any other right without correctly defining this one. Science is very straight forward in determining the issue of life. People can debate when an unborn child is viable outside the womb, they can debate when an already born person in a vegetative state is viable as well. What one cannot do is deny the humanity of either. When a woman becomes pregnant, she knows beyond any shadow of a doubt that if carried to term, she will give birth to a child. She won’t birth a cat! Those who advocate for abortion are advocating for the delegitimization of a human life, as are those who advocate for unchecked euthanasia. I fully support the right to life, and oppose legalized abortion, except in the cases of the life-of-the-mother, as state-sanctioned murder.

RELIGIOUS LIBERTY

Governments should not discriminate against individuals, organizations or small businesses because of their belief that marriage is only a union of one man and one woman.

Strongly Agree

Religious liberty is at risk in the United States and deserves the highest level of protection in the law.

Strongly Agree

I promise to protect the freedom of Christians to share the Gospel and to practice Biblical principles.

Yes

What does "separation of church and state" mean to you?

I think it is a made up political term, and certainly has no actual constitutional merit to it. I believe that there should be no overt expressions of one religion over another by Congress, which is what the 1st Amendment says, but there should also be no covert support of one religious practice over another (like friendly monetary considerations). However, a person's faith defines them, and cannot be divorced from who they are. I think that punishing people in elected office who are very vocal about their faith is wrong, and certainly a violation of the Constitution.

NATIONAL SECURITY

The best way to maintain peace is through a strong military.

Strongly Agree

What should the United States do to help eradicate the threat of radical Islamic terrorism?

Well, there is nothing that can be done to eradicate radical Islam itself sadly, as there will always be those who will espouse it, and will see any nations that can stop the expanse and control of Islam as their enemy. Wheat we can do as to the threat is maintain as strong military so we might respond abroad and vigilance on the home front to root out terrorism. I also commend strategic alliances, such as the one pursued by President Trump with Saudi Arabia, that will help isolate terrorist sympathizing nations, and keep them without necessary funding and capabilities of growing their networks. Any efforts we can make that stops the enemy before they can strike I support, although I do not support the Patriot Act, because of the abuses against American citizens that have take place with it.

HEALTHCARE

It is the government’s responsibility to ensure everyone has health insurance.

Strongly Disagree

I support the elimination of private healthcare insurance.

Strongly Disagree

How would you promote healthcare coverage that is adequate, affordable and accessible for all?

I will fight for common sense legislation that loosens the power of the free-market to address the needs of the consumer of healthcare, by starting the conversation with the healthcare needs of each individual. All of the following are bullet points that are elaborated on further on my website. Maintain a strong economy; allow opt-out of Medicare; allow private insurance to compete directly with Medicare; price transparency; tort Reform; allow people to deduct their major medical bills on their taxes; tax credits for those who cannot pay for major medical bills; no maximum on tax deductions for charitable giving to health care providers and hospitals.

ECONOMY

It is the government’s responsibility to ensure everyone has a livable income.

Strongly Disagree

Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.

Strongly Agree

How would you guarantee Social Security benefits for future generations?

The one thing that needs to be done is to take Social Security out of the hands of Congress. We are on a collision course very soon where disbursements are going to outpace money coming in. What I would like to see is for a radical transformation of Social Security where Congress oversees what's going on, but has no access to the funds. A private fund manager group, or Commission, could be used to invest the money as with any other public pension fund. This would help grow the money that is coming in, giving it a much longer lifespan, plus keep Congress from taking the cash that comes in to pay for other things. To secure the system we may need to borrow some money, but first, I would like to comb through the existing budget, and remove anything that is non-essential, and all funding that is currently budgeted for (though being paid for through borrowing), would be allocated to shore up SS. This would mean the cancellation of many granted projects.

What government spending would you reduce in order to balance the budget?

I would have to look more closely at the budget, but I feel any and all spending items that are not absolutely essential, such as Social Security, our military, or our Veteran's benefits are open to being cut. Frankly, there is much federal spending that shouldn't even be done.

Under what circumstances should taxpayers help pay off existing student loans?

Under no circumstances whatsoever. I say this as someone who has student loans myself.

IMMIGRATION

I am in favor of construction of a wall and other necessary infrastructure on our border that gives complete control over entering and exiting the United States.

Strongly Agree

Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) should be abolished.

Strongly Disagree

State and federal funds should be denied to any public or private entity, including but not limited to sanctuary cities, that are not in compliance with immigration laws.

Strongly Agree

Employers should be required to use E-verify to confirm the eligibility of their employees to work in the United States.

Strongly Agree

Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?

I think anyone should be allowed to immigrate to this country, unless they pose a threat to this nation. However, I do agree with President Trump that things like the lottery system need to be stopped. We should not be taking large portions of immigrants from countries whos people have no skills and will be essentially wards of the United States for a while. I don't want to say that no one from these countries should be allowed in, because I understand the blessing it is to be a citizen of the greatest nation the world has ever seen. I don't want to deprive someone of that dream simply because they can't necessarily immediately provide some skill that we need.

EDUCATION

Taxpayer-funded public education should be guaranteed through college.

Strongly Disagree

CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY

Mandatory minimum sentencing should be required and enforced for violent crimes.

Strongly Agree

2ND AMENDMENT

What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?

I do not believe there should be any restrictions on the right to keep and bear arms.

OTHER IMPORTANT ISSUES

I support BDS (boycott, divestment, and sanction) against Israel if they refuse to allow the creation of a Palestinian state.

Strongly Disagree

I support the legalization of recreational marijuana.

Agree

Reparations should be given to people on the basis of race.

Strongly Disagree

The Electoral College should be abolished.

Strongly Disagree

In priority order, what three areas of legislation do you propose to author or sponsor if elected?

Healthcare legislation Lobbying Reform legislation Immigration legislation

Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?

I think racism, as it exists in groups such as neo-Nazi, paramilitary groups is a real terrorist threat, but it is not nearly as immediate, or concerning as the threat of radical Islam. All the data supports that contention.

ABOUT YOU

When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and immigration, which of the following best describes you overall?

Very Conservative

Please provide publicly available information validating your answer to the previous question.

Not sure what you are looking for here. You can find my writings on lots of topics in the archives of the Arizona Daily Star (Tucson.com). Have you ever been convicted of a felony or been penalized for sexual misconduct? If so, please explain.

No. I have never been convicted of any crime. I have never been penalized for sexual misconduct.

Is there anything else you would like voters to know about you?

I am running to show that you don't need to be a member of the well-pedigreed and well-connected to run a successful campaign. We need public servants again. People who will genuinely put the interest of those they represent above that of their own private interest. I have dedicated myself to community service work in the Tucson-metro area since I was a child. I currently volunteer at the prison, and have for over 20 years. Representative leaders have a sacred duty to serve, and be the voice for others. I have a lifetime of putting people's needs ahead of my own, and will look to do it on a national level for the members of my community.

VALUES

Judeo-Christian values established a framework of morality which is necessary for our system of limited government.

Strongly Agree

I support adding sexual orientation, gender identity and gender expression as protected classes in non-discrimination laws.

Strongly Disagree

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

I am a born again Christian, who gave my life to Christ when I was 17. The Bible is the lens through which I view all things. As to specific public policy, I believe and adhere to natural rights philosophy.
