OTHER INFORMATION

QUESTIONNAIRE

RIGHT TO LIFE

Human life begins at conception and deserves legal protection at every stage until natural death.

Strongly Agree

Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive taxpayer funds or grants from federal, state, or local governments.

Strongly Agree

I support the Born Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act, which requires health care providers to provide life-saving treatment for infants who survive an attempted abortion.

Strongly Agree

Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?

Life is a gift from God. I am Pro-Life and support the sanctity of life. I support the Heartbeat Protection Act of 2019 and the Born Alive Abortion Survivor's Protection Act and will be a vocal advocate of these bills.

ECONOMY

It is the government’s responsibility to ensure everyone has a livable income.

Strongly Disagree

Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.

Strongly Agree

How would you guarantee Social Security benefits for future generations?

All taxpayers are entitled to what they paid into the system. Period! Also, nobody receiving benefits today should take a reduction of any kind. That said, we have to address the solvency issue before it's a full blown crisis. By several estimates, Social Security will become insolvent soon. The career politicians have already proven they don't have the interest or expertise to address this issue. First, as I have done in business for over 20 years, I will utilize my business background to unravel the mess and develop an equitable approach to addressing the solvency issue. Second, I will identify the waste in the system by addressing bureaucratic bloat and system fraud. Before we start talking about cutting anything or delaying benefits, we must first look at the expense side of the equation. Third, we can reduce the costs and deliver the program more efficiently. Finally, we may need to raise the age of qualification to make the program more sustainable on a long term basis.

What government spending would you reduce in order to balance the budget?

I am a fiscal conservative. I will legislate like I run my business, with frugality. I propose a balanced budget. Our federal deficit and deficit spending are out-of-control, especially with the new stimulus bill. We need to radically reduce the size, scope and spending of government. We all have to take a concerted effort to fix the state of our government's finances. As individuals and families, we are expected to spend within our means. So should our government!

Under what circumstances should taxpayers help pay off existing student loans?

My wife and I had to pay for our own education, which included several student loans. My children have had to pay most of their own way for their education. It would not have been fair or right then for someone else to pay for my education, the benefits of which I received, and it is not fair today.

RELIGIOUS LIBERTY

Governments should not discriminate against individuals, organizations or small businesses because of their belief that marriage is only a union of one man and one woman.

Strongly Agree

Religious liberty is at risk in the United States and deserves the highest level of protection in the law.

Strongly Agree

I promise to protect the freedom of Christians to share the Gospel and to practice Biblical principles.

Yes

What does "separation of church and state" mean to you?

The phrase "separation of church and state" does not exist anywhere in the Constitution. It was an attempt at paraphrasing a statement by Thomas Jefferson in a letter to the Danbury Baptist Association. The Founding Fathers guaranteed religious freedom for all of us, not just Christians, by ensuring the prevention of a national church, as memorialized in the First Amendment. However, the First Amendment does not preclude or prevent Congress or any state from legislating based on the Judeo-Christian values and principals in which our Constitution and society are grounded.

HEALTHCARE

It is the government’s responsibility to ensure everyone has health insurance.

Strongly Disagree

I support the elimination of private healthcare insurance.

Strongly Disagree

How would you promote healthcare coverage that is adequate, affordable and accessible for all?

It is not the federal government's responsibility to provide health insurance for its citizens. Retirees have paid into Medicare and such care should be protected for them. I believe that health care insurance for the non-retiree private sector should almost exclusively be handled in the private and free market. Government can assist to provide a safety net for low or no income individuals through Medicaid and state provided assistance. Government can enact legislation to address pre-existing conditions, manage out-of-control premiums, reduce exorbitant drug prices and remove wasteful regulations and fraud. However, as we've now seen with the Obamacare debacle, government provided health insurance only makes the cost of health care coverage more expensive and health care less accessible. Further, Governments should not be providing free health care to illegal immigrants, as these costs are unnecessarily paid for by taxpayers.

NATIONAL SECURITY

The best way to maintain peace is through a strong military.

Strongly Agree

What should the United States do to help eradicate the threat of radical Islamic terrorism?

I am a strong proponent of the protection of our national sovereignty and the citizens of the United States. I support responsible and reasonable efforts, including proactive military efforts, whenever and wherever a legitimate threat is identified. I support President Trump's aggressive efforts to confront and stop the terrorist acts of Al Queda, Al-Shabab, Boko Haram, Hamas, and other terrorist organizations, as well as pressuring Iran on nuclear containment with tough sanctions. I support President's Trumps commitment to maintain a strong relationship with Israel and its defense. However, the best way we can be a strong nation is to be strong at home. We need to be independent from other countries in our production and storage of oil, pharmaceuticals, natural gas, electronics, intellectual property and other security items. As an EAGLE SCOUT, we need to "Be Prepared"!

IMMIGRATION

I am in favor of construction of a wall and other necessary infrastructure on our border that gives complete control over entering and exiting the United States.

Strongly Agree

Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) should be abolished.

Strongly Disagree

State and federal funds should be denied to any public or private entity, including but not limited to sanctuary cities, that are not in compliance with immigration laws.

Strongly Agree

Employers should be required to use E-verify to confirm the eligibility of their employees to work in the United States.

Strongly Agree

Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?

The United States has a long and proud history of legal immigration. The United States is and has been one of the most accepting countries of legal immigrants in the world's history. It's a legacy that has defined us, grounded on the notion of people desiring to escape oppressive governments to experience true liberty and freedom. We, as a nation, continue that tradition and accept anyone who comes here through the legal process. However, I reject the false democrat narrative that if you are against open borders, you are a racist. To be a United States citizen is a privilege, not a right. I reject the notion of open borders. Especially with the state of our economy, we need to first protect jobs for American citizens, including temporarily halting H1B and other work visas for the safety and financial well-being of our citizens.

EDUCATION

Taxpayer-funded public education should be guaranteed through college.

Strongly Disagree

VALUES

Judeo-Christian values established a framework of morality which is necessary for our system of limited government.

Strongly Agree

I support adding sexual orientation, gender identity and gender expression as protected classes in non-discrimination laws.

Strongly Disagree

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

I am a devout Christian and come from a family with Christian values. I have a deep, personal relationship with Christ in not only my worship on Sunday but in my everyday life. I believe that the foundations of our country were principally grounded in Judeo-Christian values and that our "natural rights" are conveyed on us solely by God and protected by the Constitution. Protecting religious liberty in the face of progressive socialism is one of the key issues of our time, and I will be a very public and vocal leader on this front. I served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints for two years in Puerto Rico where I had the tremendous opportunity to serve others and share my beliefs of Christ and his Gospel.

ABOUT YOU

When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and immigration, which of the following best describes you overall?

Very Conservative

Please provide publicly available information validating your answer to the previous question.

I have always voted for and supported the conservative candidate. Not only have I shown it in my voting, but I have also spoken, acted and lived in a conservative manner. My individual, family and business and actions reflect my traditional values. I have always tried to live my life in an honest manner, not in a "do as I say, not as I do" hypocritical manner.

Have you ever been convicted of a felony or been penalized for sexual misconduct? If so, please explain.

No

Is there anything else you would like voters to know about you?

I never had any ambition to go into politics. I am a father, husband and business owner. We need to elect people who have real world experience and not those who live in the DC bubble playing the same old Washington games. We need politicians who recognize that it is government's job to protect the rights and privileges of the citizens. We need representatives that will fight for and represent the people. The American people are tired of career politicians, and I support term limits. It's no coincidence that the first non-politician we elected President has had a dramatic impact on changing the way DC works. We need to replace the career politicians that led us to this state of dysfunction and polarization. We have to secure our border, protect life, protect our constitutional rights and restore fiscal sanity to our federal budgets. We have to remove establishment politicians! I am

CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY

Mandatory minimum sentencing should be required and enforced for violent crimes.

Strongly Agree

2ND AMENDMENT

What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?

I support our Second Amendment rights. Period! I do not agree with the so-called "Red Flag" laws, as they violate a person's Fourth Amendment Rights. I will vocally and legislatively oppose any efforts to limit 2A rights.

OTHER IMPORTANT ISSUES

I support BDS (boycott, divestment, and sanction) against Israel if they refuse to allow the creation of a Palestinian state.

Strongly Disagree

I support the legalization of recreational marijuana.

Strongly Disagree

Reparations should be given to people on the basis of race.

Strongly Disagree

The Electoral College should be abolished.

Strongly Disagree

In priority order, what three areas of legislation do you propose to author or sponsor if elected?

Because of the detriments of COVID-19, our economy will be the most important issue for our country in the upcoming months. I will propose legislation that will, for a short term basis to stimulate the economy, eliminate payroll taxes, decrease short-term capital gains taxes, and eliminate taxes and penalties on withdrawals from tax-deferred retirement plans if the funds are used for business purpose. I will also propose legislation to eliminate job killing regulations on truck drivers, construction workers and other industries and eliminate government bureaucracy on the manufacture and sale of life-saving drugs and vaccines. I will also immediately introduce legislation to make the manufacturing and storage of pharmaceuticals, electronics, and other items for the security of our nation be done here by US companies. I will also introduce legislation to provide much needed infrastructure to rural Arizona. I will also fight against all forms of socialism!

Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?

True racism, not the common baseless and meaningless term thrown around by the media and liberal operatives, is devastating and wrong in all forms. When it manifests itself as legitimate domestic terrorism, it is a true threat to our national security. I believe that the United States is the single most egalitarian society in history and that most rational, critically-thinking people reject the divisive efforts of the progressive left and media to divide us racially. Identity politics used by the media and any politician is a deliberate scourge designed to exploit us for politically expediency along racial lines. It's up to all of us to reject these tactics and instead focus on productive ways to encourage civil, productive debate about difficult societal issues, particularly when we don't necessarily agree.
