QUESTIONNAIRE
RIGHT TO LIFE
Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not be a resource for instruction or services in the school.
Neutral
Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?
Did not answer
ECONOMY
It is the government’s responsibility to ensure everyone has a livable income.
Neutral
What is your position on government funding of public education from Pre-K through college?
In order to have a thriving economy, we need public education to be funded by the government. Public Universities need to lower costs so that people do not have to go into lifelong debt to attend.
RELIGIOUS LIBERTY
Governments should define marriage as between one man and one woman; no other definition of marriage should be legalized or supported with taxpayer or public funds.
Strongly Disagree
The Ten Commandments should not be displayed in public school buildings or court houses.
Agree
People of various religions and no religion attend public schools and work in or are required to be in court houses. No single religion should be allowed to be portrayed as the "right" one in public buildings or using public money
At school, students should be able to speak freely and civilly about matters of conscience and faith, including Christianity.
Agree
As long as respect for others is shown, healthy classroom debates are a cornerstone of a good classroom experience. As a social studies teacher, I had to teach the tenets of several major religions in world history classes and we always kept it respectful but students were allowed to speak their minds.
NATIONAL SECURITY
The best way to maintain peace is through a strong military.
Disagree
EDUCATION
Every state should mandate K-12 standardized tests and the use of teaching software which aligns with Common Core standards.
Strongly Disagree
Standardized tests are not used in the nations with the best educational systems in the world. Because of them, education suffers in the US. Common Core is not perfect and states should be allowed to design their own curriculum.
Parents are the ultimate authority in their child’s education and should be able to freely pursue whatever educational options they deem best for their child.
Neutral
Before students are taught courses such as Comprehensive Sex Ed (CSE) or Social Emotional Learning (SEL), they must opt-in with written parental permission.
Disagree
It should be opt out not opt in. These are parts of teaching the Whole Child and should be the norm.
I support the teaching of curricula (such as the 1619 Project, No Place for Hate, Second Step, etc.) that emphasizes slavery and racism as the foundation of American history.
Agree
These are PART of the history of the US and should not be ignored.
VALUES
Judeo-Christian values established a framework of morality that is necessary for our system of limited government.
