OTHER INFORMATION

QUESTIONNAIRE*

*Additional information was received after the evaluation was assigned and was not considered in the Panel Evaluations, therefore it is for additional educational purposes only.
RIGHT TO LIFE

Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).

Strongly Disagree

I support 'aid in dying' laws which legalize assisted suicide and euthanasia.

Agree

Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?

Until fetal viability.

ECONOMY

Redistribution of income is needed to lessen the gap between the wealthy and working classes.

Strongly Agree

The government should cut spending in order to reduce the national debt.

Disagree

What changes, if any, should be made to the tax code?

Billionaires and corporations should pay their fair share.

RELIGIOUS LIBERTY

Religious liberty is at risk in the United States and deserves the highest level of protection in the law.

Agree

Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.

Agree

What should be the relationship between the church and the state?

Separate.

HEALTHCARE

Under what circumstances (if any) should a government, school, or employer be allowed to require vaccinations?

I do not support vaccine mandates.

What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D)Tax-payer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be de-funded.

A) Medicare for All

NATIONAL SECURITY

With regard to America's foreign policy, which view most closely resembles yours: A) The United States should intervene whenever freedom is threatened. B) The United States should selectively help countries trying to grow democracy and fight tyranny. C) The United States has become too involved in others' policies and should remain focused on issues regarding our own sovereignty unless in imminent danger. D) The United States should stay out of foreign conflicts completely.

C

I support the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement to pressure Israel to withdraw from occupied territories, remove the separation barrier in the West Bank, allow full equality for Arab-Palestinian citizens of Israel, and promote the rights of Palestinian refugees.

Choose not to answer

The Chinese Communist Party poses serious military, cyber security, intellectual property, and global economic threats to the United States.

Strongly Disagree

The multinational corporations buying up entire neighborhoods pose a greater threat to Americans' security and safety than China. Likewise for the pharmaceutical companies that have manufactured the opioid crisis ravaging our country — they are merchants of death.

What should the United States do to help eradicate the threat of Islamic terrorism?

Stop invading Muslim countries, stop funding extremist militias overseas, end sanctions that are killing civilians.

IMMIGRATION

The U.S. should do more to physically secure the southern border.

Disagree

More people overstay their visas than cross the border without documentation. Asylum seeking is an internationally protected right, and if the US stopped funding death squads, cartels, and coups overseas, fewer people would be compelled to flee their home countries.

State and federal funds shall be denied to any public or private entity, such as a sanctuary city, that is not in compliance with immigration laws.

Strongly Disagree

Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?

People escaping conflict zones, persecution, and natural disasters, among others.

VALUES

Sexual orientation and gender identity should be protected classes in non-discrimination laws.

Strongly Agree

I agree with Critical Race Theory (CRT) which asserts that the institutions in the United States are fundamentally racist.

Choose not to answer

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

I am a progressive Catholic.

ELECTIONS AND VOTING

People should be able to vote without photo identification.

Agree

What laws would you propose to change present voting practices?

Automatic voter registration nationwide and nationwide mail-in ballots.

EQUALITY

Reparations should be given to people on the basis of race.

Strongly Agree

Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?

Yes, particularly by shooters motivated by white supremacy.

ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT

I support the use of hydraulic fracking to extract oil and natural gas resources.

Strongly Disagree

Which comes closest to your view? A) Stricter environmental laws and regulations cost too many jobs and hurt the economy. B) Stricter environmental laws and regulations are worth the cost.

B

ABOUT YOU

When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?

Liberal

Please provide publicly available information, including interviews and media reports, validating your answer to the previous question (other than your website).

https://youtu.be/oVQULP8IEVU https://youtu.be/RW0MI5JXJwM

Have you ever been convicted of a felony or been penalized in either civil or criminal court for sexual misconduct? If so, please explain.

No.

What else would you like voters to know about you, including your legislative priorities?

I am not a career politician and will bring a fresh approach to Congress. I've appeared on both NPR and Fox News primetime, because I'm not afraid to talk to voters from across the political spectrum. I am a small business owner who believes that the government shouldn’t be bailing out Wall Street and multinational corporations during Covid while American small businesses go under. We shouldn’t have 40,000 veterans and 120,000 kids living on the streets. Working families shouldn’t struggle to pay their rent or mortgage. In the richest country on Earth, no one should be homeless, hungry, without healthcare, or in poverty. All of these problems are policy choices by the corporate elite. We have the money to solve them. You deserve a good-paying job and Social Security. You deserve healthcare without co-pays, deductibles, or premiums. You deserve safety, security, and a comfortable home. I’m the only candidate in this race fighting for the policies to make that happen, and I’m the only Democrat who does not take corporate or lobbyist money. I oppose Medicare privatization, which has been forced on millions of seniors without their consent. I answer to you, not corporations and lobbyists. Here are some of my policies: Getting money out of politics. Protecting and expanding Social Security. Improving Medicare and expanding it to every American. A national jobs program like during the Great Depression (as part of a Green New Deal). A housing guarantee. Supporting active service members and veterans. Free college and trade school. What this all adds up to is a secure job, healthcare, home, and retirement for all. How will we pay for it? By redirecting subsidies from the 1% to the 99%. My grandfather was a U.S. Army Colonel, and my father was a U.S. Foreign Service Officer. I hope to continue my family’s tradition of service as a member of Congress. In 2020, I got 35,000 votes. Now I’m here to finish the job. I hope to earn your vote, so I can fight for YOU in Congress.

CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY

Police officers should be personally immune from prosecution for conduct consistent with departmental policy (qualified immunity) while on duty.

Choose not to answer

Qualified immunity shields government officials from being held personally liable for constitutional violations. I oppose qualified immunity so defined.

I support redirecting funds from police departments to mental health and community programs.

Agree

2ND AMENDMENT

What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?

Raise the minimum purchase age to 21 years old, universal background checks, nationwide waiting periods for purchase of all firearms, free safety training and continuing education for all licensed firearm owners, ban high-capacity magazines.

Victims of gun violence should be able to sue firearms dealers and manufacturers.
