OTHER INFORMATION

QUESTIONNAIRE

RIGHT TO LIFE

Human life begins at conception and deserves legal protection at every stage until natural death.

Strongly Agree

Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive taxpayer funds or grants from federal, state, or local governments.

Strongly Agree

I support the Born Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act, which requires health care providers to provide life-saving treatment for infants who survive an attempted abortion.

Strongly Agree

Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?

I would support any legislation that reduces the number of abortions in our country. I also would strongly support any legislation to eliminate or block any federal funding for abortions. I am 100% pro-life.

ECONOMY

It is the government’s responsibility to ensure everyone has a livable income.

Strongly Disagree

Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.

Strongly Agree

How would you guarantee Social Security benefits for future generations?

We need to require that the Federal government restore all the money that was "borrowed" out of the SS Trust fund, and ban it from touching it again other than for SS benefits.

What government spending would you reduce in order to balance the budget?

Eliminate all redundancies in federal government agencies and offices. Through natural attrition reduce workforce. Shift any work done at the Federal level that should be handled by States, where citizens needs are better understood. Repeal & replace ACA using free market solutions to reduce costs. Refinance US debt for long-term with current low rates.

Under what circumstances should taxpayers help pay off existing student loans?

I do not support any debt forgiveness on the back of our taxpayers, unless the individual is working in a taxpayer provided public service capacity such as the military, first responders, and teachers as part of their compensation package for long-term retention.

RELIGIOUS LIBERTY

Governments should not discriminate against individuals, organizations or small businesses because of their belief that marriage is only a union of one man and one woman.

Strongly Agree

Religious liberty is at risk in the United States and deserves the highest level of protection in the law.

Strongly Agree

I promise to protect the freedom of Christians to share the Gospel and to practice Biblical principles.

Yes

What does "separation of church and state" mean to you?

Government should not dictate how individuals should believe and how they worship. This does not mean that all public institutions should ban any form of religious expression; on the contrary, religious expression is an important element of culture and should be protected as part of the 1st Amendment.

HEALTHCARE

It is the government’s responsibility to ensure everyone has health insurance.

Strongly Disagree

I support the elimination of private healthcare insurance.

Strongly Disagree

How would you promote healthcare coverage that is adequate, affordable and accessible for all?

Repeal and replace ACA, and introduce free market solutions that can greatly benefit everyone by lowering costs. These include interstate competition for healthcare insurance, transparency of reasonable and customary costs, enhancement of health savings plans, and tort reform.

NATIONAL SECURITY

The best way to maintain peace is through a strong military.

Strongly Agree

What should the United States do to help eradicate the threat of radical Islamic terrorism?

We need to secure our borders both physically & through stronger immigration laws. We should provide for a continuing superior military including the Reserves & National Guard to protect our homeland. I support encouraging economic investment in our Muslim allies to help deter radicals from taking advantage of poverty to recruit members & spread their hate. This can be through corporate or private investment, not taxpayer dollars. If the necessity arises to act outside our borders, we should first use whatever technology is available to send a clear message. Only in an extreme case should we resort to "boots on the ground" to risk American lives on foreign soil. In such an instance the mission must be clear, defined & have a goal of victory & completion. We should support our local law enforcement by providing the tools needed to protect our citizens with open communication between different agencies to be able to investigate suspected terrorist activity.

IMMIGRATION

I am in favor of construction of a wall and other necessary infrastructure on our border that gives complete control over entering and exiting the United States.

Strongly Agree

Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) should be abolished.

Strongly Disagree

State and federal funds should be denied to any public or private entity, including but not limited to sanctuary cities, that are not in compliance with immigration laws.

Strongly Agree

Employers should be required to use E-verify to confirm the eligibility of their employees to work in the United States.

Strongly Agree

Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?

America is a country of immigrants. The Rule of Law dictates who can enter our country, and anyone desiring to visit or live in our country should be allowed as long as they apply through the proper channels, follow the guidelines and adhere to all laws.

EDUCATION

Taxpayer-funded public education should be guaranteed through college.

Strongly Disagree

VALUES

Judeo-Christian values established a framework of morality which is necessary for our system of limited government.

Strongly Agree

I support adding sexual orientation, gender identity and gender expression as protected classes in non-discrimination laws.

Strongly Disagree

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

I am a lifelong Christian and strongly support the Biblical Worldview as outlined in the US Constitution based on the Judeo-Christian ethic. My ancestors were persecuted and died for freedom of religion, and I believe that my life should emulate their sacrifice.

ABOUT YOU

When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and immigration, which of the following best describes you overall?

Very Conservative

Please provide publicly available information validating your answer to the previous question.

https://www.kathylanding.com/meet-kathy https://www.kathylanding.com/important-issues https://www.kathylanding.com/videos

Have you ever been convicted of a felony or been penalized for sexual misconduct? If so, please explain.

No.

Is there anything else you would like voters to know about you?

We need adults in Congress to solve problems without any hidden agenda and help President Trump clean out the swamp. My life experiences combined with 35 years of financial planning have prepared me to serve the American people and represent the 1st District of SC in a way that can accomplish much and make them proud.

CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY

Mandatory minimum sentencing should be required and enforced for violent crimes.

Strongly Agree

2ND AMENDMENT

What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?

I totally support the US Constitution and the 2nd Amendment is very clear on this subject.

OTHER IMPORTANT ISSUES

I support BDS (boycott, divestment, and sanction) against Israel if they refuse to allow the creation of a Palestinian state.

Strongly Disagree

I support the legalization of recreational marijuana.

Strongly Disagree

Reparations should be given to people on the basis of race.

Strongly Disagree

The Electoral College should be abolished.

Strongly Disagree

In priority order, what three areas of legislation do you propose to author or sponsor if elected?

1. Propose a bill for term limits for members of Congress 2. Propose a bill requiring passing a full, balanced budget every year, followed by an Amendment to the Constitution requiring a balanced Federal budget. This should include a contingency or "rainy day" fund for unexpected emergencies including pandemics. 3. Propose a bill that all legislation be straightforward, address the issue needing to be solved, and short enough in length to be thoroughly vetted by the American people and legislators before being voted upon. Call this a "Transparency bill."

Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?

I do not condone any form of racism, period. Racism is a threat to domestic security, and claiming racism is often used as a threat as well. If we use the 14th Amendment as our guideline, we will know racism when we see it and be able to expose it and hopefully someday eradicate it.
