OTHER INFORMATION

QUESTIONNAIRE

RIGHT TO LIFE

Human life begins at conception and deserves legal protection at every stage until natural death.

Strongly Agree

Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive taxpayer funds or grants from federal, state, or local governments.

Strongly Agree

I support the Born Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act, which requires health care providers to provide life-saving treatment for infants who survive an attempted abortion.

Strongly Agree

Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?

None.

ECONOMY

It is the government’s responsibility to ensure everyone has a livable income.

Disagree

Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.

Strongly Agree

How would you guarantee Social Security benefits for future generations?

Stop spending the SS tax that is being collected for purposes other than the purpose of providing benefits for Social Security recipients, who have earned this right by paying their fair share throughout their lives as an employee. We also need to look at other options that have been discussed but never enacted, (because of the overspending that has occurred throughout the years) that allow individuals to invest as they deem appropriate for them and their families.

What government spending would you reduce in order to balance the budget?

We need to look at what we've been spending with other countries and determine how we are benefiting from that spending. We need to prioritize spending in our Country and our needs, i.e. infrastructure, healthcare, education, job creation. This should be done prior to spending out of our country.

Under what circumstances should taxpayers help pay off existing student loans?

None.

RELIGIOUS LIBERTY

Governments should not discriminate against individuals, organizations or small businesses because of their belief that marriage is only a union of one man and one woman.

Strongly Agree

Religious liberty is at risk in the United States and deserves the highest level of protection in the law.

Strongly Agree

I promise to protect the freedom of Christians to share the Gospel and to practice Biblical principles.

Yes

What does "separation of church and state" mean to you?

Separation of church and state means the state should not impose any restrictions on the church and their ability to worship freely.Governments exist to secure for the individual that which came from the Hand of God.

HEALTHCARE

It is the government’s responsibility to ensure everyone has health insurance.

Disagree

I support the elimination of private healthcare insurance.

Neutral

How would you promote healthcare coverage that is adequate, affordable and accessible for all?

1. All of want and desire medical care that is affordable and accessible. We have a system that attempts to do that now and I know that most of us do not see it as affordable or accessible. 2. Medicare for All is another Democrat partisan proposal that will change our healthcare system for us, our children and our grandchildren. We do not need socialized medical care in our country. 3. We need to work at taking profits out as the number one priority for medical care providers and balance the profits and care to be a priority for all medical care providers for all Americans, utilizing the existing medical care system. Medicare as is currently exists is not meeting the needs for the needs right now. “You are my brother’s keeper” We can work to provide a system all can have the medical care we need, even Congressional representatives.

NATIONAL SECURITY

The best way to maintain peace is through a strong military.

Strongly Agree

What should the United States do to help eradicate the threat of radical Islamic terrorism?

Strengthen our Military, place sanctions on those countries who support radical Islamic terrorism.

IMMIGRATION

I am in favor of construction of a wall and other necessary infrastructure on our border that gives complete control over entering and exiting the United States.

Strongly Agree

Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) should be abolished.

Disagree

State and federal funds should be denied to any public or private entity, including but not limited to sanctuary cities, that are not in compliance with immigration laws.

Strongly Agree

Employers should be required to use E-verify to confirm the eligibility of their employees to work in the United States.

Strongly Agree

Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?

1. At the risk of stating the obvious, immigration is deeply emotional for all sides and I’m saddened by the way in which this issue has so divided our community for years. I’ve listened to many people on both sides of the immigration debate and it’s clear that there are no easy answers or quick fixes. 2. We need to uphold the law and at the same time our current laws make it nearly impossible for many law abiding, honest people to legally enter the US. We need creative solutions that are fair and reasonable and don’t force these honest people to break the law to come here. 3. We don’t have these solutions on the table yet because our current politicians seem more interested in blaming the other side than in resolving the problem. We need real people in office who are not trapped in the “we’re right and they’re wrong” partisan mentality and really focus on listening to the concerns on both sides. We need to look at all ways to protect our border and more importantly, our country.

EDUCATION

Taxpayer-funded public education should be guaranteed through college.

Strongly Disagree

VALUES

Judeo-Christian values established a framework of morality which is necessary for our system of limited government.

Strongly Agree

I support adding sexual orientation, gender identity and gender expression as protected classes in non-discrimination laws.

Strongly Disagree

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

I am a Christian Catholic, born and raised. My beliefs are that this country was founded with the Thesis Statement of the most important document of the most powerful nation that ever existed – The Declaration of Independence –which uses the most important word – Creator- that all human beings are made in the image and likeness of God. The rights of every human being are grounded in God. Government did not give the right to life, government cannot take it away. Government did not give the right to liberty, government cannot take it away. Government did not give the right to pursue happiness, government cannot take it away. Rights come from the hand of the Creator, God, not the hand of Government.

ABOUT YOU

When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and immigration, which of the following best describes you overall?

Conservative

Please provide publicly available information validating your answer to the previous question.

Proceedings from Pojoaque School Board and Santa Fe County Commission meetings are available through an IPRA request.

Have you ever been convicted of a felony or been penalized for sexual misconduct? If so, please explain.

No.

Is there anything else you would like voters to know about you?

We have to enact just laws in our country. Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. reminded the people of the U.S. of their Judeo-Christian values. In his famous 1963 letter from Birmingham Jail, he relied upon the Christian natural law tradition. He wrote: “One may well ask, How can you advocate breaking some laws and obeying others? The answer is found in the fact that there are two types of laws: there are just and there and unjust laws. I agree with St. Augustine that ‘An unjust law is no law at all.” He continued, “what is the difference between the two? How does one determine when a law is just or unjust? A just law is a man-made code that squares with the moral law or the law of God. An unjust law is a code that is out of harmony with the moral law. In the terms of St. Thomas Aquinas, an unjust law is a human law that is not rooted in eternal and natural law.” I believe we fully render to Caesar what is Caesar’s. But under no circumstance will we render to Caesar what is God's.

CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY

Mandatory minimum sentencing should be required and enforced for violent crimes.

Agree

2ND AMENDMENT

What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?

None.I believe we have adequate protections for people to lawfully own guns.

OTHER IMPORTANT ISSUES

I support BDS (boycott, divestment, and sanction) against Israel if they refuse to allow the creation of a Palestinian state.

Disagree

I support the legalization of recreational marijuana.

Disagree

Reparations should be given to people on the basis of race.

Strongly Disagree

The Electoral College should be abolished.

Strongly Disagree

In priority order, what three areas of legislation do you propose to author or sponsor if elected?

1. Establish a Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo Land Grant-Merced Claims Commission. 2. Expand funding for Substance Abuse Prevention/Treatment Best Practices Programs to address the opioid pandemic/epidemic we have experienced for generations in NM and specifically this District. 3.Require any new federal facility/office slated to be built in CD3 to be powered by wood chips from nearby forest restoration thinning projects on federal lands, creating value added products from small diameter timber.

Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?

No. Racism in my opinion, has been a tool used to divide our country and create divisions amongst the varying races in our country. We can have diversity without division, unity without uniformity, and this is done by respecting our brothers and sisters, as we are all God's children.
