How would you promote healthcare coverage that is adequate, affordable and accessible for all?
The government needs to take a community health approach to fixing health care coverage issues. Many people use Hospitals and EMS for their primary medical care. Expanding clinics, community health paramedic programs and increasing health education will decrease the toll on our healthcare system. These programs should be funded by public and private partnerships. Everyone has access to healthcare for critical needs, giving access to clinics, tele-health, and pre hospital care will prevent many patients from needing hospitalization.

Raised as a Catholic I have always had a strong Christian upbringing and support network. Growing up, both of my parents were very active in our church, which translated into being active myself. My wife was raised Baptist, her dad was the music minister at her church. Both her parents raised their kids deep in faith as well. Growing up I remember my dad driving us way out of the way of church to take elderly widows to church. When I met my wife I found out that her dad started a widow program at their church. Christian values are paramount, not just how we were raised, but in how we are now raising our own boys. Today we are both very active members, volunteers, and small group leaders at New Hope Church. Both our children are being raised as believers and see how active we are in our faith life. Our Family Small Business is based on christian beliefs, we will always maintain those values.

I have never been afraid to stand up for what is right. You can go through my social media accounts to see that I am not afraid to stand up for the little guy, or what is right.
What education or experience qualifies you to hold the office for which you seek election?
As a Senior Captain in the Houston Fire Department, I have experienced first hand many of the issues that our community is facing. From homelessness to flooding, my unique experience of protecting the public, and my ability to work with all groups to accomplish the goal qualifies me to be a successful State Representative.

Is there anything else you would like voters to know about you?
Since we have a young family, protecting our area’s children and their futures is high priority. Whether it is protecting our region from the next flood or hurricane, helping our kids’ schools perform highly, or being a fierce advocate for our aviation and space industry, I look forward to working hard for our region. I strongly believe our area needs an advocate with more energy and more local involvement. To properly represent our area, an elected official must be a real part of our community. I look forward to working with our business community, teachers, police, fire, and neighborhood leaders to help advocate for what District 129 truly needs.

What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?
The only restriction to gun ownership should be the successful passing a background check. Restricting gun owners only hurts those who follow the law. I have had my CHL since I turned 21, as a firefighter I have seen numerous incidents where the only thing that stopped a bad person with a gun was a good person with a gun. I am an active member of my churches security team, I am certified in active shooter response, gun ownership is the core of public safety.

In priority order, what three areas of legislation do you propose to author or sponsor if elected?
My first priority will be to assist several neighborhoods in modifying existing language that effects only their community. The incumbent has refused to work with them on their issue. Homelessness has become an issue in my community. Local officials are failing to address this issue, this must now be handled in Austin. Texas needs right to repair legislation passed. Individuals should be able to legally fix their own goods and property.
Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?
Yes, racism is a threat to domestic security. I would include many the recent attacks in churches and against Jewish groups as racism. I am glad to see that the President added attacks against jews to the current title six protections.
