Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?
Abortion should never be permitted. As Christians, we must trust in God first. Life begins at conception, as God said to Jeremiah, “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, and before you were born I consecrated you…” (Jeremiah 1:5). God has a plan for every person born, and Salyer feels driven to take a real stand against those who would murder innocent babies. Each pregnancy creates a new human body with its own unique DNA and heartbeat, which is a stark contrast to the narrative, “It’s a woman’s body and her choice.” Third Trimester abortions must never be permitted, and any facility or doctor performing abortions under current law must have the ability to admit the patient. Abby Johnson* was so impressed with Salyer’s stance against abortion that she is actively supporting the Adam Salyer campaign. (*Abby Johnson former Director of a Planned Parenthood clinic who’s life story is outlined in the movie “Unplanned”, guest speaker at this year's Republican National Convention.

What does "separation of church and state" mean to you?
According to the Cornell Law School, "The Free Exercise Clause prohibits the Government, in most instances, from interfering with a person's practice of their religion." Salyer takes this to mean that the government (and the media for that matter) must stop interpreting church doctrine to redefine it to fit the popular opinions of the day. For example, redefining sin as being judgemental, or discriminatory. They are not mutually exclusive. A Christian must recognize sin without judging another because nobody is without sin. Not one person. Sins committed in your thoughts are still considered a sin in God's perfect judgement because you committed them in your heart.

How would you promote healthcare coverage that is adequate, affordable and accessible for all?
Salyer recognizes that Obamacare provided insurance, but did not provide actual healthcare. In fact, it failed driving insurance rates and medical costs higher. With trying times we will have to address healthcare for all. We have to be strategic in our approach to find an effective healthcare solution that is fiscally responsible, reduces insurance costs, and improves real healthcare over just providing health insurance with expensive co-pay and other limitations.

What government spending would you reduce in order to balance the budget?
Illegal immigrants have been awarded healthcare using tax-payers dollars. We could re-allocate this $10 billion to feed and educate the poor. Defund clinics like Planned Parenthood, that focus on abortion under the disguise of providing women's reproductive health care, and instead provide more funding to adoption services. Adoption costs are out of control and must be reigned in so that average couples don't have to pay $20,000 or more to adopt a child, or $40,000 to adopt a baby.
IMMIGRATION
I am in favor of construction of a wall and other necessary infrastructure on our border that gives complete control over entering and exiting the United States.

Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?
Salyer fully supports legal immigration according to current laws. The problem is not immigration, it's illegal immigration that must be addressed. The Foreign Clearance Guide provides the requirements for entering nations around the world. The vast majority of nations require the following: proof of identification, no felony convictions, an updated immunization records/no evidence of a contagious disease, and a verifiable purpose for entering. Salyer believes this includes having the means to support themselves without welfare. The US can do no less than this in order to protect our citizens. Membership to our country must have rewards, so giving those rewards and benefits to those who have no vested interest in becoming a member must stop immediately. A robust migrant worker program is crucial for our economy, but the specifics of this program need to be addressed.
CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY

What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?
Our Constitutional rights to own guns "...shall not be infringed." Salyer is against the proposed "Red Flag" laws (like H.R. 838), which assumes guilt first and one must prove innocence at great cost through the courts after their weapons are confiscated. Dramatically increasing the punishments for gun-related crimes is a good first step. We must better understand the challenges with mental health without impacting the rights of law-abiding citizens who vent their frustrations online.

In priority order, what three areas of legislation do you propose to author or sponsor if elected?
1)Safety for the Citizens against angry mobs stopping traffic or rioting. Relax laws that target law-abiding citizens trying to escape angry mobs 2)Instead of Defunding the Police, Salyer would increase funding to implement better de-escalation techniques for police, while giving them more training on take-down techniques that do not permanently harm violent suspects resisting arrest. Push Constitutional Carry to combat Defund the Police Efforts. 3) Stop the favoritism of liberal over conservative speech on social media platforms. This violates our right to free speech. Additionally, prevent retaliation from employers or potential employers who search personal social media accounts for opinions posted on personal time that do not align with the company's position on controversial issues. No more politically correct fact-checkers! 4) Establish protection for students who want to pray in school.
Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?
Racism is being made into a domestic security threat by fringe groups that are no longer peacefully protesting but have crossed the line from protest to rioting. The violence must stop. The peaceful and meaningful protests that had wide-spread support from law-abiding citizens for the unwarranted death at police hands was hijacked by unethical and criminal elements who are more focused on destruction than building a path forward away from racism. We need to stop focusing on labels like “African American” or “Mexican-American” and just be Americans. And stop being politically correct and become more historically correct!

The Center for Immigration Study, identifies there are 4.9 million uninsured illegal immigrants in the U.S.with incomes low enough to qualify for Obamacare, which could cost $22.6 BILLION annually if they all enrolled. The total cost assuming a more realistic enrollment rate is still $10.4 billion per year. Salyer wants to provide support to US citizens first before attempting to solve the larger issues for foreign nationals. He would rather prioritize our efforts to ensure every US citizen is properly fed, clothed, and living in a safe home getting a quality education for themselves and their children before turning our attention to others.
What education or experience qualifies you to hold the office for which you seek election?
Salyer graduated from Incarnate Word in Government with a focus in International Relations. His experience as a city councilman is at the forefront. He was instrumental in bringing businesses to Universal City to expand entry-level and supervisory jobs in the retail industry, creating sustainable streams of income for the city as well as jobs. Salyer also believes that small business owners need support and training to be successful and to create a sustainable business plan. The majority of businesses fail within the first three years. By providing small business owners with this training and incentives they stand a stronger chance of being successful, creating jobs, economic stability, and a sustainable source of revenue for local governments. This would make government less reliant on property taxes, lowering tax rates for all homeowners.

Is there anything else you would like voters to know about you?
Salyer understands that the best way to improve our economy is to stop the business-killing restrictions in the name of a virus that has had no impact on 99.5% of the population in Bexar County. We can fully open businesses without causing harm to those who are at high risk. Salyer also believes that we must open schools in person to improve the social skills needed to interact with respect to others. Our education system must be reformed to allow parents to control the curriculum from beginning to graduation, especially where sexual education is concerned. We also must provide better funding to education so that teachers do not have to spend personal funds to have the tools they need to reach all students. A return to teaching a child critical thinking skills and problem-solving over test-taking, and that the funds should follow a child regardless of which school they attend.

Salyer believes that Jesus, the Son of God is his Savior. He believes in God the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, and attends a non-denominational church that is firmly rooted in the scripture. He begins every campaign meeting and event with a prayer. He believes firmly in traditional family values. Salyer also believes that our Almighty and All-Powerful Creator has provided humanity with the Scriptures to identify His view on issues, and that being a Perfect God, His Word does not need or warrant "interpretation" to change to today's popular beliefs. God does not make mistakes. Period.
