QUESTIONNAIRE

RIGHT TO LIFE

Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?

I believe in life begins at conception. There is no circumstance where I am in favor of abortion. I believe in taking care of our mothers, and children including our foster care system and adoption.

Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).

Strongly Agree

If Roe v. Wade is overturned by the US Supreme Court, how far are you willing to go to roll back North Carolina's statutory abortion law that allows abortion up to 20 weeks?

I believe life begins at conception.

I support 'aid in dying' laws which legalize assisted suicide and euthanasia.

Strongly Disagree

Would you support a limitation on chemical abortion that protects women from taking abortion pills without the care and supervision of a qualified physician?

Yes

ECONOMY

The government should do more to close the gap between the working class and the wealthy.

Strongly Disagree

I do not believe the government should be involved in the personal financial affairs of its citizens. When you work hard for your money you should be able to keep it.

What changes, if any, should be made to the tax code?

We should be paying less taxes.

Taxpayer-funded public education should be guaranteed through college.

Did not answer

RELIGIOUS LIBERTY

Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.

Strongly Disagree

Business owners should be able to run their businesses with any morals or religious beliefs they choose. Asking a business owner to go against his or her own beliefs is not what this country was founded on.

Under what circumstances can government close churches?

The government should not ever close churches.

What should be the relationship between the church and the state?

Did not answer

HEALTHCARE

What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D)Tax-payer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be de-funded.

Did not answer

Under what circumstances (if any) should a government, school, or employer be allowed to require vaccinations?

Did not answer

EDUCATION

States should allow parents to use the Opportunity Scholarship Program to fund private school for their children.

Strongly Agree

In what situations does a parent not have the right to know what their child is being taught in public school?

A parent should ALWAYS have the right to know what their child is being taught in public school. We should never allow teachers, administrators, etc. to hide what they are teaching their students.

When should parents be restricted from speaking in school board meetings?

Parents should always be allowed to speak at school board meetings.

VALUES

Judeo-Christian values established a framework of morality which is necessary for our system of limited government.

Strongly Agree

I support adding gender identity as a specially protected class in non-discrimination laws.

Did not answer

I agree with Critical Race Theory (CRT) which asserts that the institutions in the United States are fundamentally racist.

Strongly Disagree

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

I am a born- again believer in Jesus Christ. I owe everything to Him. I serve Jesus first and prayerfully consider every vote and decision I make. I am a pro-life conservative.

ELECTIONS AND VOTING

People should be able to vote without photo identification.

Strongly Agree

I have voted for and worked to create legislation that would require voter ID. You have to have an ID to go to the Dr, board a plane, pay bills, etc. Why wouldn't you use one to vote.

What laws would you propose to change present voting practices?

We passed legislation previously that would require an ID to vote, and would also allow for those without an ID free access to get a state issued ID. I believe this is crucial in making our elections secure and insuring their integrity.

EQUALITY

Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?

Racism in any form is unacceptable

ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT

Which comes closest to your view? A) Stricter environmental laws and regulations cost too many jobs and hurt the economy. B) Stricter environmental laws and regulations are worth the cost.

A

ABOUT YOU

What do you think is the general purpose of government?

To protect the constitution of the United States of America and to ensure that the Bill of Rights is upheld.

When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?

Very Conservative

Please provide publicly available information, including interviews and media reports, validating your answer to the previous question (other than your website).

Did not answer

Have you ever been convicted of a felony or been penalized in either civil or criminal court for sexual misconduct? If so, please explain.

No

What else would you like voters to know about you, including your legislative priorities?

When you elect me to serve as your Senator, you are getting a man of integrity, who will fight to protect your family, your rights and your freedom. I have been in Raleigh since 2012, serving three terms in the NC House and two in the NC Senate. Since going to Raleigh I have introduced and voted for legislation that keeps more of your money in your pockets, cuts government spending and red tape and fights protects the values you hold dear. My voting record proves I am pro-business, pro-jobs and pro-life. Throughout the recent pandemic I worked tirelessly to help his constituents to file for unemployment when necessary, and supported the efforts to open our economy back up. As a small business owner, I felt the strain the decisions of our Governor have put on our businesses, our families and our economy. I was there in Raleigh voting to expand our Rainy-Day fund so that we were better prepared for a crisis such as now. My fiscally sound decision making has put us in a better position than if we had spent the money as the Democrats had wanted. We ask that this November you remember who is fighting for you, and send me back to Raleigh.

CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY

Police officers should be personally immune from prosecution for conduct consistent with departmental policy (qualified immunity) while on duty.

Did not answer

I support redirecting funds from police departments to mental health and community programs.

Strongly Disagree

Yes we need more mental health initiatives but not at the cost of cutting police budgets.

2ND AMENDMENT

What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?

I am pro-second amendment

Victims of gun violence should be able to sue firearms dealers and manufacturers.

Strongly Disagree

It is not the gun's fault, it is the criminal.

OTHER IMPORTANT ISSUES

Would you support legislation that prohibits biological boys from competing on girls sports teams?

Yes
