QUESTIONNAIRE
RIGHT TO LIFE
Human life begins at conception and deserves legal protection at every stage until natural death.
Strongly Agree
Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive taxpayer funds or grants from federal, state, or local governments.
Strongly Agree
I support the Born Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act, which requires health care providers to provide life-saving treatment for infants who survive an attempted abortion.
Strongly Agree
Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?
If the mother's life is in danger, but all actions should be taken to attempt to save both.
ECONOMY
It is the government’s responsibility to ensure everyone has a livable income.
Strongly Disagree
Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.
Strongly Agree
How would you guarantee Social Security benefits for future generations?
Increase Social Security’s retirement age and index it to life expectancy so that Social Security’s benefits would automatically adjust to reflect individuals’ longer life spans and additional work capacity.12 undefinedundefined This would save $32 billion over 10 years and reduce Social Security’s 75-year shortfall by 29 percent. Shift toward a flat antipoverty benefit so that the program could better align its resources with individuals’ needs and help to prevent more elderly people from living in poverty.13 undefinedundefined This would save $645 billion over 10 years and reduce Social Security’s 75-year shortfall by 84 percent. Modernize the program’s spousal benefit to account for the fact that most women earn Social Security benefits based on their own work history. This would save $2 billion over 10 years and reduce Social Security’s 75-year shortfall by 3 percent. Use the chained consumer price index (CPI) for Social Security’s benefit calculations to provide a better adjustm
What government spending would you reduce in order to balance the budget?
Other than protecting Social Security and Medicare for seniors, we need to start looking at slashing entitlement spending as a first step.
Under what circumstances should taxpayers help pay off existing student loans?
None. Never.
RELIGIOUS LIBERTY
Governments should not discriminate against individuals, organizations or small businesses because of their belief that marriage is only a union of one man and one woman.
Strongly Agree
Religious liberty is at risk in the United States and deserves the highest level of protection in the law.
Strongly Agree
I promise to protect the freedom of Christians to share the Gospel and to practice Biblical principles.
Yes
What does "separation of church and state" mean to you?
It means EXACTLY what the First Amendment states: "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof." It is Freedom OF religion NOT freedom from religion.
HEALTHCARE
It is the government’s responsibility to ensure everyone has health insurance.
Disagree
I support the elimination of private healthcare insurance.
Strongly Disagree
How would you promote healthcare coverage that is adequate, affordable and accessible for all?
Patient-centered and market-based. By replacing the Obamacare spending with a block grant to the states and restoring state authority over some critical regulatory matters, states will have new tools to ameliorate much of the market dislocation that has plagued Obamacare and to lower costs, increase choices, and improve access. There are several likely actions the states will take in response. First, states will likely reassess the essential-benefit, medical-loss-ratio, risk-rating, and the single-risk-pool requirements. Careful not to recreate Obamacare’s overreach, the states will likely take a fresh approach to these rules to strike the right balance. If done correctly, states could reduce premiums while still ensuring access. Second, free from Obamacare’s flawed subsidy scheme, states would be able to implement their own assistance programs. States can structure their programs in ways that avoid the mistakes of Obamacare, including the problem of individuals with costly conditions.
NATIONAL SECURITY
The best way to maintain peace is through a strong military.
Strongly Agree
What should the United States do to help eradicate the threat of radical Islamic terrorism?
Seek out and destroy it where ever it rears it's ugly head.
IMMIGRATION
I am in favor of construction of a wall and other necessary infrastructure on our border that gives complete control over entering and exiting the United States.
Strongly Agree
Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) should be abolished.
Strongly Disagree
State and federal funds should be denied to any public or private entity, including but not limited to sanctuary cities, that are not in compliance with immigration laws.
Strongly Agree
Employers should be required to use E-verify to confirm the eligibility of their employees to work in the United States.
Strongly Agree
Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?
Anyone who follows current procedures and immigration laws and who love the United States and pledge to actively work to make this a stronger country.
EDUCATION
Taxpayer-funded public education should be guaranteed through college.
Strongly Disagree
VALUES
Judeo-Christian values established a framework of morality which is necessary for our system of limited government.
Strongly Agree
I support adding sexual orientation, gender identity and gender expression as protected classes in non-discrimination laws.
Strongly Disagree
Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
Born again Christian.
ABOUT YOU
When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and immigration, which of the following best describes you overall?
Very Conservative
Please provide publicly available information validating your answer to the previous question.
Consistent involvement with Michigan Heartbeat Coalition. Consistent public stance on all issues foreign and domestic and publicly active in ongoing efforts to protect our Constitutional freedoms.
Have you ever been convicted of a felony or been penalized for sexual misconduct? If so, please explain.
No.
Is there anything else you would like voters to know about you?
Having spent most of my life in Michigan and a great deal of that time in what is Michigan's 8th Congressional district, I understand and share the sentiment and values of those who live in the District, who deserve trusted leadership in elected office with a main objective to truly represent the people. As a Constitutional Patriot I believe that our elected officials must remember that their job centers around God, the Constitution and the people! They must be accessible and be accountable. That's why I drafted my Contract With Michigan. In Washington DC, I will deliver results for the people of Michigan's 8th District, not excuses and definitely not politics-as-usual.
CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY
Mandatory minimum sentencing should be required and enforced for violent crimes.
Strongly Agree
2ND AMENDMENT
What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?
None. In fact, I'm going to work to repeal many of the infringements already on the books. Furthermore, I'm am 100% opposed to RED FLAG LAWS!
OTHER IMPORTANT ISSUES
I support BDS (boycott, divestment, and sanction) against Israel if they refuse to allow the creation of a Palestinian state.
Disagree
I support the legalization of recreational marijuana.
Neutral
Reparations should be given to people on the basis of race.
Strongly Disagree
The Electoral College should be abolished.
Strongly Disagree
In priority order, what three areas of legislation do you propose to author or sponsor if elected?
Economy: 1. Amend the “Buy American Act of 1933” to reflect and codify Executive Orders 13881, 13858 and 13788 – “Buy American / Hire American”. 2. Work to open and expand new foreign markets for Michigan manufacturing and agricultural exports. 3. Simplify the Federal Corporate and Personal tax codes. 4. Insure that Congress work to cut wasteful spending and search for ways to continue to cut taxes on individuals and businesses. Any proposal to raise or add new taxes will be dead on arrival on my desk! Healthcare: we can lower costs, increase personal choice and better access while preserving protections for pre-existing conditions. Border Security: 1. Abolish Catch and Release 2. Approve Adequate Funding for the Border Wall 3. Increase the number of Border Patrol Agents 4. Totally Abolish Chain Migration
Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?
No. If it wasn't for the continued efforts of Leftists to create rifts in our society, it is likely racism would be virtually non-existent.
