QUESTIONNAIRE
RIGHT TO LIFE
Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).
Strongly Agree
I support 'aid in dying' laws which legalize assisted suicide and euthanasia.
Strongly Disagree
Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?
I believe abortion should only be allowed in the case of rape (which I see incest as rape), or the mother's life is in danger. God has created us in our mother's womb and life begins at conception. I believe that if a couple do not desire a baby, they should take steps to prevent pregnancy at the outset - abstinence for singles is preferred above all else.
ECONOMY
Redistribution of income is needed to lessen the gap between the wealthy and working classes.
Strongly Disagree
I believe in equal opportunity, not equal outcomes. We live in the greatest nation in the history of man with the greatest economical philosophy - capitalism, aka self-responsibility. We can be as much or as little as we desire dependent upon our personal efforts.
The government should cut spending in order to reduce the national debt.
Strongly Agree
I am an accountant by training. Just as individuals, the government should never spend more than it takes in. I believe our government needs to budget based on the previous years tax revenues. A percentage should be used to pay down the debt, the rest for the needs of the nation.
What changes, if any, should be made to the tax code?
I believe in a flat tax. And, I believe all property taxes should be replaced with a value-added tax. We don't pay tax on water or food, and we should not pay tax to have shelter.
RELIGIOUS LIBERTY
Religious liberty is at risk in the United States and deserves the highest level of protection in the law.
Strongly Agree
I am a pastor by vocation and clearly see that the Church and Christianity, in particular, are under attack. The very faith that made this nation free and gave us success is now being criticized and denounced. Our Founders realized this would be the case. As a result, they instituted the protection of religion under the first amendment.
Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.
Strongly Disagree
In a free society, individuals and businesses should be free to provide services or deny them when their personal beliefs are infringed upon. When the Christian baker is asked to make a cake for a gay wedding, and the baker declines, the gay couple have other bakers whom they can go to. No one should be forced to go against their beliefs, especially those beliefs as detailed by God's Word, the Bible.
What should be the relationship between the church and the state?
The State is not to infringe upon the Church, but Christians and pastors should not be disqualified from serving in Government. There should be freedom of religion in our government, schools, and nation, but not a freedom from religion. God will bless the nation who seeks Him. Our Founders were clear in that belief and fact.
HEALTHCARE
Under what circumstances (if any) should a government, school, or employer be allowed to require vaccinations?
No government, school, or employer should ever mandate vaccinations. Every day, we let our freedoms be taken in response to the fear of the moment. This must stop.
What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D)Tax-payer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be de-funded.
I am with C. People have paid in to Medicaid and Medicare for years and it would be wrong to take that investment they made and do away with it. I do believe it would be great, over time, to move away from government care. Self-responsibility and planning ahead is the duty of every citizen. It remains imperative that we care for those who are unable to care for themselves - the sick and those handicapped.
NATIONAL SECURITY
With regard to America's foreign policy, which view most closely resembles yours: A) The United States should intervene whenever freedom is threatened. B) The United States should selectively help countries trying to grow democracy and fight tyranny. C) The United States has become too involved in others' policies and should remain focused on issues regarding our own sovereignty unless in imminent danger. D) The United States should stay out of foreign conflicts completely.
A - I believe we must defend freedom wherever it is threatened. Sadly, freedom is threatened within our nation currently. We must clean up our house and secure our liberties, or we will have no standing to help any other nation.
I support the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement to pressure Israel to withdraw from occupied territories, remove the separation barrier in the West Bank, allow full equality for Arab-Palestinian citizens of Israel, and promote the rights of Palestinian refugees.
Strongly Disagree
We must stand with Israel always.
The Chinese Communist Party poses serious military, cyber security, intellectual property, and global economic threats to the United States.
Strongly Agree
China is the greatest threat to our nation inside and outside.
What should the United States do to help eradicate the threat of Islamic terrorism?
We must deal with the terrorists where they are. We must also close the border to the United States where terrorists are crossing. It is going to be an arduous exercise, but we must track down those who have already come in who mean us harm.
IMMIGRATION
The U.S. should do more to physically secure the southern border.
Strongly Agree
We must build the wall. Technology is not sufficient. Technology shows us where people are coming in, but it does not apprehend nor deter them.
State and federal funds shall be denied to any public or private entity, such as a sanctuary city, that is not in compliance with immigration laws.
Strongly Agree
Sanctuary cities are illegal and should never receive a penny for their transgressions. We must be a nation of lawful citizens and lawful governments.
Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?
Those who come to this nation, should come because they want to be Americans. They must come the legal way. They must not come under some dual allegiance. They must learn our language and become acclimated to our way of life. We should screen who comes. The U.S. should not be the dumping ground for other nations to rid themselves of dependent or lawless individuals.
VALUES
Sexual orientation and gender identity should be protected classes in non-discrimination laws.
Strongly Disagree
In the beginning, God made them male and female. For this reason a man will leave his mother and cleave to his wife, and the two shall become one. There should be no catering to the belief that we can randomly change our gender. For those who say they follow the science but allow people to identify as a gender goes completely against the science and the DNA each body holds.
I agree with Critical Race Theory (CRT) which asserts that the institutions in the United States are fundamentally racist.
Strongly Disagree
We fought a war among ourselves to end slavery. We passed the 13th, 14th, and 15th Amendments to solidify the rights of every human being in this nation. History is being revised for liberal and destructive motivations. We must reject such, including CRT.
Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
I am a Bible-believing Christian and a Bible-preaching pastor. My spiritual beliefs are not based on a denomination nor on societal norms. I hold to one firm foundation - God's Holy Word, the Bible, personified in His Son Jesus Christ, the only way anyone can be saved, go to Heaven, or be right with God.
ELECTIONS AND VOTING
People should be able to vote without photo identification.
Strongly Disagree
We require photo id for every other facet of life to prevent fraud and to hold each person accountable. It is irrational to not require photo id for voting.
What laws would you propose to change present voting practices?
I believe in photo identification. I believe that mailer-ballots, absentee, and early voting must be strongly watched. I believe there should be random audits each election cycle to ensure all elections are carried out fairly and honestly. To go along with that, if an audit finds fraud, then the election should be overturned.
EQUALITY
Reparations should be given to people on the basis of race.
Strongly Disagree
Those who were slaves had a right to receive some form of reparation, but anyone beyond that, those who are offsprings of slaves should not. Each person is responsible to make the most of the opportunities this nation gives. People gave their lives to set others free. Many lost everything to set others free. Reparations for today can be defined as the peace and opportunity that every person has to move forward.
Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?
No. I do not believe racism is prevalent today. I do believe we use our race as an excuse for why we are where we are, instead of taking inventory of where we are, and why we are where we are. We must then make changes, get an education, hold a job, give our best at the job, seek reward on merit, marry, be faithful in marriage, raise our kids, and look to God and ourselves to make a better life. The Bible says in 2 Corinthians, that we are restrained by our affections. It is the mistakes that we make that hold us down primarily today, not race. Domestic security is threatened by those who continually stoke the fires of past sins and carry it over to todays excuses, breeding a new and unwarranted type of hatred.
ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT
I support the use of hydraulic fracking to extract oil and natural gas resources.
Strongly Agree
Each nation must use their strength for survival. America is strong in oil and gas. We are weak in rare earth minerals. China holds the monopoly on rare earth minerals. To go from what we have plenty of - oil and gas, and to promote what we lack, only makes us dependent upon our enemies. We must frack, drill, build pipelines, and be self-dependent. China needs oil, gas, and coal. We must use our strengths to compete and win in the world economy.
Which comes closest to your view? A) Stricter environmental laws and regulations cost too many jobs and hurt the economy. B) Stricter environmental laws and regulations are worth the cost.
A - The strict environmental laws and regulations are not necessary and is the government's thumb on the scale of our free economy. Capitalism ensures that the customer makes the decisions and will do business with the firms that are most responsible. Capitalism is its own regulator. Government needs to stay out of it. Our free market, unhindered by government, will be more efficient, more effective, and make better choices for all of us.
ABOUT YOU
When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?
Very Conservative
Please provide publicly available information, including interviews and media reports, validating your answer to the previous question (other than your website).
My Facebook page over the years, my sermons in the pulpit of Church at the Cross and on Youtube, endorsements I received for 2020 and interviews all validate the previous question.
Have you ever been convicted of a felony or been penalized in either civil or criminal court for sexual misconduct? If so, please explain.
No.
What else would you like voters to know about you, including your legislative priorities?
I am a pastor, a rancher, a patented inventor, and an award-winning published author. More than that, I am Christian who loves this nation and am willing to fight to preserve it. My legislative priorities are: Education - Ensure that parents have primary say on what their children are taught Reduce Crime - Crime rates are at record highs. We must properly fund the police, hold all accountable, and ensure that our court system is doing its job. Close the Border - Thousands illegally cross our border daily. Many are well-meaning, but some bring crime, Covid, and worse. We must close the border and screen who comes in for our safety. Defend Oil and Gas - Electric and Wind are great, but in the winter, they will not suffice alone. Nothing compares to the power, efficiency, and economy of oil and gas. Balance the Federal Budget - The Government's debt is unsustainable. Our nation grows weaker by the day because of it. We must balance the budget, set the annual budget based on annual tax revenues and nothing above that, and pay down our debt. Build Our National Defense - Russia upgraded 80% of their nuclear weapons. China's naval power has surpassed ours. Both have become overly aggressive and now act in concert. The only way to hold our enemies at bay is to remain strong militarily. Set Term Limits for government officials - The longer a politician serves, the less attentive they are to their constituents. Government officials must serve the people and not themselves. Eliminate Property Taxes - Mankind needs food, water, and shelter. Food and water are not taxed. Shelter should not be either. Each citizen should be able to own a home and pass it on to family.
CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY
Police officers should be personally immune from prosecution for conduct consistent with departmental policy (qualified immunity) while on duty.
Agree
I believe the key words are "consistent with departmental policy" and "qualified immunity". This is not to say that police officers are not to be held accountable for their actions, but they must not be afraid to enforce the law and bring order and peace.
I support redirecting funds from police departments to mental health and community programs.
Strongly Disagree
The problem on our streets is not mental health for the most part. The problem on our streets is clearly not because there aren't enough community programs. The problem on our streets is because everyone is doing what is right in their own eyes. At the heart of the matter is selfishness and lawlessness. If we do right, we have no fear of law enforcement. If we do wrong, we should fear them. Fear of repercussions is our only leverage. Lose that, there will be no place safe.
2ND AMENDMENT
What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?
I just believe the only gun restrictions necessary are for those who are felons, illegal aliens, and those who have had a history of violent domestic behavior.
Victims of gun violence should be able to sue firearms dealers and manufacturers.
Strongly Disagree
The gun is not to blame for the violence nor is the legal dealer or manufacturer. Self-responsibility. The one who kills or commits a crime with a weapon, gun or any other, is the only one who should be liable.
