QUESTIONNAIRE
RIGHT TO LIFE
Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?
Life of the Mother
Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).
Strongly Agree
I support 'aid in dying' laws which legalize assisted suicide and euthanasia.
Strongly Disagree
ECONOMY
What changes, if any, should be made to the tax code?
In the Kansas Senate, I've been a leading voice for lower income, sales and property taxes. We passed a bill requiring more disclosure from counties and cities when they try to raise property taxes. We would have passed more tax relief, but unfortunately, we have a liberal Democrat Governor because of Kris Kobach's loss in 2018. As Attorney General, I will never seek a tax increase to pay for more spending. I will use my office as a platform for lower taxes, as our state's tax rate is too high and property taxes are skyrocketing
What government spending would you reduce in order to balance the budget?
In the Kansas Legislature, I've advocated for spending efficiencies to balance our budget. As Attorney General, I will keep a careful eye on our budget and make sure we do not overspend in these tough economic times. I firmly believe you can be fiscally conservative and tough-on-crime and that's what I will do as Attorney General.
Taxpayer-funded public education should be guaranteed through college.
Strongly Disagree
I strongly oppose attempts by the left to make college education free.
RELIGIOUS LIBERTY
Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.
Strongly Disagree
As someone who has defended the rights of churches in a court of law, I will fight against efforts to force individuals and business to violate their beliefs. As Attorney General, I will keep my eye on the Biden Administration and oppose their efforts to use agencies like OSHA to try and force individuals and businesses to violate their personal and religious freedoms.
Under what circumstances can government close churches?
Never. As Attorney General, I will stand up for the First Amendment rights of churches to assemble. In the legislature, I fought against Governor Kelly's attempt to keep churches closed while she allowed abortion clinics to be open
HEALTHCARE
What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D)Tax-payer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be de-funded.
C. I think Medicaid and Medicare should remain available. I strongly oppose Medicaid expansion in Kansas, as it will radically increase spending over time.
Under what circumstances (if any) should a government, school, or employer be allowed to require vaccinations?
I strongly oppose COVID-19 vaccine mandates. In the Kansas Senate, I have been a leading voice against COVID-19 Mandates and as Attorney General I will fight against any attempt by Joe Biden to force someone to take a COVID-19 vaccine.
NATIONAL SECURITY
What should the United States do to help eradicate the threat of Islamic terrorism?
Sadly, Joe Biden has made our nation look weak after his incredible blunder in Afghanistan and his pathetic attempt to make the military more "woke." To fight and win against radical Islamic Terrorism, we need leadership that is strong, decisive and will not back down to threats and intimidation. Joe Biden has made our southern border a total disaster and could allow for radical terrorists to enter our nation. As Attorney General, I will use my power to file lawsuits against his administration and allow ICE and local sheriffs to better control the border to keep us safe.
I support the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement to pressure Israel to withdraw from occupied territories, remove the separation barrier in the West Bank, allow full equality for Arab-Palestinian citizens of Israel, and promote the rights of Palestinian refugees.
Strongly Disagree
I stand with Israel, one of our great allies in the world and against radical Islamic Terrorism.
IMMIGRATION
The U.S. should do more to physically secure the southern border.
Strongly Agree
I support efforts to physically secure our southern border. I oppose attempts by the Biden Administration to make it harder for ICE agents and law enforcement to apprehend illegal aliens.
Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?
I support legal immigration. Those who should be allowed into the US should be following the proper process for legal immigration and wait in line like everyone else. I strongly oppose amnesty that rewards illegal immigration.
EDUCATION
I support school choice, including voucher programs, tax credits, charter schools, private schools, and home schools.
Agree
In the last two years, more Americans are seeking additional educational options to ensure their children succeed. We especially need to consider the needs of students trapped in failing schools through no fault of their own of their own. As a Senator, I have taken positive steps to give parents additional options, including the expansion of tax credits for those who offer scholarships to private and religious schools and open enrollment within our public schools. We can and should do more.
VALUES
Judeo-Christian values established a framework of morality which is necessary for our system of limited government.
Strongly Agree
I support adding gender identity as a specially protected class in non-discrimination laws.
Strongly Disagree
Marriage is a God-ordained, sacred and legal union of one man and one woman. No government has the authority to alter this definition
Strongly Agree
I agree with Critical Race Theory (CRT) which asserts that the institutions in the United States are fundamentally racist.
Strongly Disagree
Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
I am a Catholic and hold a Judeo-Christian worldview. My faith is a fundamental part of how my family and I live our lives and helps shape our core beliefs in so many ways. It was part of what led me to originally seek office in 2018 and engage in public service, to help shape our country's future and protect the culture of life in Kansas. The pro-life issue was the primary motivating factor behind my decision to run for office. When my State Senator was the only Republican Senator to oppose the Value Them Both Amendment, I decided to challenge him in the primary. I defeated him and ultimately then helped lead the effort to pass this amendment as the Chair of the Senate Judiciary Committee. Since that time I have also traveled to church groups and other grassroots events across the state to help build support for passage of this amendment. I’m the only person in this race who took action to get Value Them Both on the ballot this August.
ELECTIONS AND VOTING
People should be able to vote without photo identification.
Strongly Disagree
I strongly support our state's Voter ID laws.
What laws would you propose to change present voting practices?
In the Kansas Senate, I've voted to strengthen election security and prohibit private donations like "Zuckerbucks" to election offices. As Attorney General, I will aggressively investigate and prosecute voter fraud.
EQUALITY
Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?
I'm proud of Kansas's history as a free state and I vehemently oppose racism. Violent crime has increased in Kansas over the last few years because of woke, leftist politics that promotes disrespect of law enforcement and empowers criminals. I strongly reject attempts by the far-left to smear conservatives as "racist" for supporting policies like requiring voter ID at the polls.
Reparations should be given to people on the basis of race.
Strongly Disagree
ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT
Which comes closest to your view? A) Stricter environmental laws and regulations cost too many jobs and hurt the economy. B) Stricter environmental laws and regulations are worth the cost.
A. The Biden Administration has been a disaster for our state by imposing stricter environmental laws and regulations that are based on a radical left-wing agenda and not what’s best for Kansas. The Clean Water Act, the Endangered Species Act, the Federal Insecticide, Fungicide and Rodenticide Act, the Food Safety Modernization Act, and the Federal Land Policy and Management Act are all laws that federal bureaucrats can interpret in a manner that creates significant ramifications on Kansas farmers and ranchers. As Attorney General, I will take Biden to court when his administration uses federal overreach to harass our agriculture economy. Joe Biden's decision to cancel the Keystone Pipeline to appease radical leftists was completely irresponsible and now Kansans are paying a serious price at the pump. As Attorney General, I will stand with Kansans and small businesses, not the radical environmental and woke corporations who profit off "green energy."
I support the use of hydraulic fracking to extract oil and natural gas resources.
Strongly Agree
ABOUT YOU
What do you think is the general purpose of government?
To protect our citizens and stand up for our constitutional rights. As Attorney General, I will do that every day and protect your right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.
When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?
Very Conservative
I consider myself to be a fiscally and socially conservative Republican who will put America first.

Have you ever been convicted of a felony or been penalized in either civil or criminal court for sexual misconduct? If so, please explain.
No
What else would you like voters to know about you, including your legislative priorities?
Unlike my opponents, I have beaten tough Democrats in general elections, and I will do it again in this race. Some people talk about standing up for conservative policy, but then they get elected and get nothing accomplished in office, I've gotten results. I shepherded to passage the Value Them Both Amendment, which protects existing, common-sense restrictions on abortion; stopped Governor Kelly’s unqualified judicial nominee; re-wrote Kansas’ emergency statutes to stop Governor Kelly’s mask mandate and stop private businesses from being shut down; passed novel legislation to require federal COVID funds be put in the hands of small businesses impacted by COVID shutdowns rather than grow government and fixed the loophole which allowed some sexual predators to prey on minor children. As Attorney General, I will continue to lead on conservative policy and defending our constitutional freedoms. I will defend the Value Them Both Amendment when it passes, as the far left and ACLU will challenge it in court. I will have a task force that is dedicated to fighting the federal overreach of the Biden Administration and its attempts to impose a far-left agenda on our state through bureaucratic powers. I will take on violent crime in our state by standing and working with law enforcement to make sure dangerous criminals are behind bars and woke politics doesn't allow them to be back on the streets.
CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY
Police officers should be personally immune from prosecution for conduct consistent with departmental policy (qualified immunity) while on duty.
Strongly Agree
I support redirecting funds from police departments to mental health and community programs.
Strongly Disagree
As Attorney General, if any local governments try to defund the police, I will expose and speak out against it. It is simply unacceptable to try and defund our police while crime rises in our state. I will have the back of law enforcement and stand up to the woke politicians who are weak on crime.
2ND AMENDMENT
What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?
I support the 2nd amendment and oppose any attempts by the left to weaken our rights to own and carry firearms. We need conservative leaders who will be proactive in the fight against the left to protect our gun rights. And I’m leading an important fight right now, woke corporations and left-wing groups are trying to bully and discriminate against legal gun and ammunition sellers here in Kansas. Second Amendment groups have lost their ability to process payments, perform basic banking functions, and more. This is an attack on our Second Amendment rights — and I’m taking action to stop it. In the Kansas Senate, I’ve introduced the FIND Act, which would hold woke companies that discriminate against gun and ammunition sellers accountable. It would bar them from receiving certain government contracts, and it would send a message that we will always defend the Second Amendment here in Kansas. The State of Texas has passed similar legislation and our state should take every step possible to protect our rights. Kansans have made it clear time and time again that they strongly support the Second Amendment, and all of our Constitutional rights — and woke companies that attack those rights should not be rewarded with taxpayer funded business.
Victims of gun violence should be able to sue firearms dealers and manufacturers.
Strongly Disagree
