QUESTIONNAIRE
RIGHT TO LIFE
Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?
I will always stand for life and my strong pro-life voting record reflects that, which is why groups like the North Carolina Right to Life have endorsed me in every election I have sought, including in 2016, 2018, 2020 and hopefully again in 2022.
Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).
Strongly Agree
If Roe v. Wade is overturned by the US Supreme Court, how far are you willing to go to roll back North Carolina's statutory abortion law that allows abortion up to 20 weeks?
I'm willing to sponsor legislation and ultimately vote for it.
I support 'aid in dying' laws which legalize assisted suicide and euthanasia.
Strongly Disagree
Would you support a limitation on chemical abortion that protects women from taking abortion pills without the care and supervision of a qualified physician?
Yes
ECONOMY
The government should do more to close the gap between the working class and the wealthy.
Disagree
Government is not the end all be all. I believe the free market must run its course and that the government should allow individuals to pursue their own destiny.
What changes, if any, should be made to the tax code?
Tax rates should be cut and government must accordingly create fiscally responsible budgets. I believe lower taxes lead to job growth and prosperity.
Taxpayer-funded public education should be guaranteed through college.
Agree
I'm a proud product of all facets of North Carolina's public schools (K-12, community college and the UNC system). These are schools that receive taxpayer funding. However, I believe individuals seeking higher education should anticipate to pay for whatever their share is and not expect the government to forgive student loan debt.
RELIGIOUS LIBERTY
Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.
Strongly Disagree
Under what circumstances can government close churches?
Never. That's a violation of the First Amendment.
What should be the relationship between the church and the state?
Churches should be heavily involved in what our government and be actively involved in the political process. Our elected officials make many decisions related to issues of morality and life. It's up to our churches and their membership to hold elected officials accountable.
HEALTHCARE
What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D)Tax-payer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be de-funded.
C would be the best selection for me; however, these programs are designed to help those individuals who absolutely cannot afford insurance. Expanding Medicaid coverage to those who do have the means to pay for their own insurance should not happen.
Under what circumstances (if any) should a government, school, or employer be allowed to require vaccinations?
Vaccines are a personal decision that should be made between a doctor and a patient and not by the government.
EDUCATION
States should allow parents to use the Opportunity Scholarship Program to fund private school for their children.
Agree
In what situations does a parent not have the right to know what their child is being taught in public school?
Parents should have every right to know what their child is being taught in school.
When should parents be restricted from speaking in school board meetings?
Parents should not be restricted. That would be a violation of the First Amendment.
VALUES
Judeo-Christian values established a framework of morality which is necessary for our system of limited government.
Strongly Agree
I support adding gender identity as a specially protected class in non-discrimination laws.
Strongly Disagree
I agree with Critical Race Theory (CRT) which asserts that the institutions in the United States are fundamentally racist.
Strongly Disagree
Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
I'm a Christian.
ELECTIONS AND VOTING
People should be able to vote without photo identification.
Strongly Disagree
What laws would you propose to change present voting practices?
All voters should be required to show valid photo identification before casting a ballot, early voting should be limited to no more than one week, absentee ballots should only be an allowable practice for our military and those who are bedridden.
EQUALITY
Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?
No, because the bigger threat to our domestic security is our open borders.
ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT
Which comes closest to your view? A) Stricter environmental laws and regulations cost too many jobs and hurt the economy. B) Stricter environmental laws and regulations are worth the cost.
A.
ABOUT YOU
What do you think is the general purpose of government?

Have you ever been convicted of a felony or been penalized in either civil or criminal court for sexual misconduct? If so, please explain.
No.
What else would you like voters to know about you, including your legislative priorities?
As your State Representative, I'm committed to lowering taxes, protecting life, upholding our Second Amendment, and supporting our law enforcement. I have a clear voting record to back that up. It would be honor to continue serving the people of the 91st District.
CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY
Police officers should be personally immune from prosecution for conduct consistent with departmental policy (qualified immunity) while on duty.
Agree
I support redirecting funds from police departments to mental health and community programs.
Strongly Disagree
2ND AMENDMENT
What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?
The Second Amendment is very clear that the right to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed.
Victims of gun violence should be able to sue firearms dealers and manufacturers.
Strongly Disagree
