We need more focus on fraud and abuse within our government. There is plenty of it! More taxes and raising the retirement age is NOT the answer! Government should take a close look at the wasted money every year on things like duplicate health care studies at the NIH, $650,000 sculptures at VA facilities that serve the blind, the money sent to foreign countries. This list is extensive and very few in Congress seem to care. I do! It's way past time to put the American people first and stop looking for more ways to tax us!
What government spending would you reduce in order to balance the budget?
We need to focus on wasteful spending. Nothing gets done! Federal contractors seem to take great pleasure in the so called "Christmas in September" where they go on a huge spending spree with left over taxpayer money to ensure they get the same amount or more from the next budget. It is estimated that 100 billion was spent in September on things like alcohol, lobster, Foosball tables, cars, snow mobiles, etc.! We need representatives who actually represent the average American taxpayer.

How would you promote healthcare coverage that is adequate, affordable and accessible for all?
This is complex and there are no easy answers. I do believe we need to look at non profit hospitals and healthcare facilities, including government funded insurance companies and ask why are these CEO's and other top officials making millions annually. How can they drive down consumer costs when they are opening clinics and urgent cares on every corner and buying up properties all over our towns? Greater tax cuts for employers offering coverage. Allow small businesses to join collectively to bargain for heath care coverage for their employees. More focus on preventative care. Remove state borders and open the market for more competitive pricing allowing people more choice for health care. We need to come together and have a real conversation on this.
NATIONAL SECURITY
The best way to maintain peace is through a strong military.

What should the United States do to help eradicate the threat of radical Islamic terrorism?
Nobody likes war, but I believe we need to continue the battle abroad to keep them from growing and cut off their avenues for spreading their propaganda that influences others to join. We need to improve the vetting process so we are not training terrorists on our own soil. We must continue to fund and support our military as the world has become a very dangerous place.

I am in favor of construction of a wall and other necessary infrastructure on our border that gives complete control over entering and exiting the United States.

We need to take care of our own who are suffering first. We should be focusing on helping our homeless, veterans, hungry children and families living in poverty, our mentally ill and opioid addicts. This should be our priority. Then we can take in more refugees fleeing war, gangs, communism and religious persecution.

I was raised Baptist and while I do not attend church regularly, I still believe in God and the power of prayer. Their are so many forces that have successfully removed God from our schools and public areaas and I believe this has contributed to a more violent society. Our country was founded on Christian principles and we need to stop the war on this. It's fine if one chooses not to believe, but they don't have the right to deny that right to believers. Love, kindness and respect are values we need more of.

I am a Nurse Practitioner and not a politician. Career politicians have forgotten us "little people". Our government is too big and we are being taxed to no end. I am a hard working taxpaying citizen who like many, are tired of the endless spending and taking by our goverment. They are steering us right into bankruptcy and it's way past time we put a stop to it. Wise words from Thomas Jefferson "I, however, place economy among the first and most important republican virtues, and public debt as the greatest of dangers to be feared. To preserve our independence, we must not let our rulers load us with perpetual debt...I am for a government rigorously frugal and simple." I am a staunch supporter of our second amendment.
