QUESTIONNAIRE
RIGHT TO LIFE
Under what circumstances should an elective abortion be allowed?
An elective abortion should NEVER be allowed.
Chemical abortion drugs should meet essential safety standards (such as in-person consultation with a medical doctor) and require reporting to gather evidence on reactions and outcomes.
Strongly Agree
I oppose chemical abortions.
Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive taxpayer funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).
Strongly Agree
I have championed and voted for legislation to defund Planned Parenthood my entire time in the Missouri Senate. Just this past session, we finally passed a bill to defund Planned Parenthood. You can watch the news coverage laying out how myself and other members of the Freedom Caucus were the forces behind getting this bill passed and defunding abortion providers here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jp6ldpluWec&t=107s
I support 'aid in dying' laws which legalize assisted suicide and euthanasia.
Strongly Disagree
RELIGIOUS LIBERTY
Under what circumstances can government close churches?
None whatsoever. The government should NEVER be able to close churches. I always opposed the COVID lockdowns. I am adamantly opposed to mask/vaccine mandates. Our rights come from God, not the government.
Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.
Strongly Disagree
NATIONAL SECURITY
The Chinese Communist Party poses serious military, cyber security, intellectual property, and global economic threats to the United States.
Strongly Agree
I have sponsored legislation to BAN all foreign countries from buying land in Missouri. I have also filed a constitutional amendment to take back all the land currently in foreign hands. My amendment to ban all foreign countries from owning land passed the Missouri Senate this year.
Is the United States' relationship with Israel important, and if so why?
Yes, it is very important. Israel is our greatest ally, and we must stand with them. I sponsored SCR 25 this year in the Missouri Senate. SCR 25 commends Israel for its cordial and mutually beneficial relationship with Missouri and the United States, supports Israel's right to exist, and recognizes Jerusalem as the eternal capital of Israel.
HEALTHCARE
What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D) Taxpayer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be defunded.
C. Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but should NOT be expanded beyond what they are now. An independent audit of the Missouri Medicaid program recently exposed over $1 billion of annual waste. I will cut waste and run these programs efficiently.
Under what circumstances (if any) should a government, school, or employer be allowed to require vaccinations?
Vaccine mandates should not be allowed; Missouri's religious exemption laws need to be strengthened.
ECONOMY
Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.
Strongly Agree
What is your position on the minimum wage?
The government should not force business to increase the minimum wage; it should be regulated by the free market.
Should environmental and social issues, like ESG (environmental, social, and governance) ratings, be used as criteria in deciding where to invest public monies?
No
I have filed legislation for the past several years to go after these woke, liberal ESG scores.
IMMIGRATION
The U.S. should do more to physically secure the southern border.
Strongly Agree
My first day as governor, I will declare an invasion under Article IV Section 6 of the Missouri Constitution. This will allow me to mobilize the Highway Patrol, National Guard, and every Sheriff in this state; and we're going to DETAIN and DEPORT every single one of the 77,000 illegals already in Missouri. Biden has allowed an invasion at the border; we cannot rely on the federal government to protect us. The states must get tough on illegal immigration.
EDUCATION
The state should fund education by allowing dollars to follow the child through programs which protect parents' freedom to choose their child's school – public, private, or homeschool.
Strongly Agree
CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY
I support redirecting funds from police departments to community programs.
Strongly Disagree
Defunding the police is leftist garbage and it will not fly when I am governor. Liberal cities, like Kansas City and Saint Louis, get a lot of money from the state government in Jefferson City. If Kansas City or Saint Louis tries to defund their police, those cities won't get another dime from Jefferson City. I am willing to use the power of the pen and the power of the purse to keep these liberal cities in line.
2ND AMENDMENT
What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?
"Shall not be infringed!" I do not support any restrictions on the 2nd Amendment. Period. I have been a champion for the 2nd Amendment during my time in the Senate, and as governor, I will ensure that Missouri is the best place for gun owners in the country.
Should teachers be allowed to carry guns at school?
Yes
ABOUT YOU
Have you ever been penalized for sexual misconduct in either civil or criminal court? If so, please explain.
No
Have you ever been convicted of a felony? If so, please explain.
No
What do you think is the general purpose of government?
The proper role of government is to protect your rights. That's it.
When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?
Very Conservative
The American Conservative Union, also known as CPAC, ranks me as the #1 most conservative senator currently serving in the Missouri Senate. Not only am I proud to be very conservative, but my actions back up my words. I was a founding member of the Missouri Senate Conservative Caucus and a founding member of the Missouri Freedom Caucus.
VALUES
Children are the most vulnerable members of society and must be protected from abuse, including gender ideology, grooming, and bodily mutilation.
Strongly Agree
I co-sponsored the SAFE Act in Missouri, which BANNED sex change surgeries and hormones on children under the age of 18. I am proud to stand against the groomers and pedophiles who want to indoctrinate our children with their woke gender ideology.
Parents should have the right to make decisions for their minor children.
Strongly Agree
I am a strong believer in parental rights; however, a parent does not have the right to abuse their child with gender transition chemicals and procedures.
Taxpayer funds should be used to provide gender transition services.
Strongly Disagree
Marriage is a God-ordained, sacred and legal union of one man and one woman. No government has the authority to alter this definition.
Strongly Agree
As a Christian, I believe what the Bible says. The Bible is clear that marriage is between one man and one woman.
Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
I am a Bible-believing Christian. Jesus Christ is my Lord and Savior. I do my best to live by His Word.
ELECTIONS AND VOTING
People should be able to vote without photo identification.
Strongly Disagree
States should join the National Popular Vote Interstate Compact which makes the Electoral College irrelevant.
Strongly Disagree
EQUALITY
Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?
No; America is not a racist country.
I agree with Critical Race Theory (CRT) which asserts that the institutions in the United States are fundamentally racist.
Strongly Disagree
Biological males should not be allowed to participate in women's sports or occupy biological women's spaces whether it be bathrooms, locker rooms, sorority houses, women's shelters, or prison.
Strongly Agree
I co-sponsored the Save Women's Sport Act, which banned biological males from competing in girl's sports. As the father of a daughter, I understand just how important it is to protect female spaces.
ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT
Which comes closest to your view? (Select all that apply) A) Stricter environmental laws and regulations cost too many jobs and hurt the economy. B) Stricter environmental laws and regulations are worth the cost. C) Stricter environmental laws undermine U.S. energy independence and deter development of reliable electricity sources. D) Climate change is real and requires urgent policy action.
A & C: Climate change is a hoax.
What do you believe is the most reliable energy source that will supply the growing demand for electricity?
Nuclear energy
