OTHER INFORMATION

QUESTIONNAIRE

RIGHT TO LIFE

Human life begins at conception and deserves legal protection at every stage until natural death.

Strongly Agree

Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive taxpayer funds or grants from federal, state, or local governments.

Strongly Agree

Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?

When an actual medical doctor, NOT a therapist, says that the life of the mother or the child will be forfeited, then I think it will be up to the parents to make that decision at that point. If it is known that one or the other will die, that is the only time, and even then, the parents will have to make that decision not the government.

ECONOMY

It is the government’s responsibility to ensure everyone has a livable income.

Disagree

Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.

Strongly Agree

What government spending would you reduce in order to balance the budget?

Luckily, in Texas it is mandated that we have a balanced budget. However, I do believe that just cleaning up some of the bureaucracy within our state house would work wonders.

RELIGIOUS LIBERTY

Governments should not discriminate against individuals, organizations or small businesses because of their belief that marriage is only a union of one man and one woman.

Strongly Agree

Governments should define marriage as between one man and one woman; no other definition of marriage should be legalized or supported with taxpayer or public funds.

Strongly Agree

Religious liberty is at risk in the United States and deserves the highest level of protection in the law.

Strongly Agree

I promise to protect the freedom of Christians to share the Gospel and to practice Biblical principles.

Yes

What does "separation of church and state" mean to you?

The government has no place in the church, period. However, government is made of people, and people's character is made up by their beliefs. Therefore, if one's religion is self, then they will govern by putting themselves first. If someone's religion is based on morality and virtue, then they will govern with morality and virtue. We should most definitely keep government out of the church, but it is impossible to keep one's faith out of government.

HEALTHCARE

It is the government’s responsibility to ensure everyone has health insurance.

Disagree

How would you promote healthcare coverage that is adequate, affordable and accessible for all?

First and foremost, one cannot legislate efficient health care. I believe it is something that needs to be changed culturally in the way people think and act with their bodies. Andrew Carnegie stated that a wise man surrounds himself with people who are smarter than he is. This is what I would do to try and move Texas from a sick-care system to a health care system. And to do something to pull back the curtain of mystery on medical pricing and pharmaceutical companies to make health care more affordable to all.

NATIONAL SECURITY

The best way to maintain peace is through a strong military.

Agree

IMMIGRATION

I am in favor of construction of a wall and other necessary infrastructure on our border that gives complete control over entering and exiting the United States.

Agree

State and federal funds should be denied to any public or private entity, including but not limited to sanctuary cities, that are not in compliance with immigration laws.

Strongly Agree

Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?

I am running for a state office and can only do so much about a federal border, however we do need federal immigration reform. That being said, in the short term until we get a congress willing to tackle that problem, we must adhere to the laws that are in place. Those with a true desire to assimilate into the U.S. way of life and accept her laws and do so legally should be allowed to immigrate into our beloved country. Those who try to subvert the law at the border have shown their character and will try to subvert the laws later to fit their ideas and needs, which is not something needed in our country.

EDUCATION

Taxpayer-funded public education should be guaranteed through college.

Disagree

VALUES

Judeo-Christian values established a framework of morality which is necessary for our system of limited government.

Strongly Agree

I support adding sexual orientation, gender identity and gender expression as protected classes in non-discrimination laws.

Disagree

Promotion of the LGBT agenda in public schools, including teaching of “sexual orientation” and “gender identity”, is completely inappropriate and should be opposed at the state and local level.

Strongly Agree

I support allowing public high school students to participate in athletic competition based on the gender with which they identify instead of biological sex.

Strongly Disagree

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

I believe that all men were created equal and loved by God Almighty and that He set forth the precepts that, if lived by, would bring man together in harmony. However, since man cannot live up to all those precepts and has a sinful heart, He chose to make a pathway of redemption for man by sending His son to die as a sacrifice for all that will accept His act of grace. Then, once that acceptance has been made and man realizes that the Son of God died for him, he must then choose to live for God by living by the values and integrity that was put forth by Christ in His Word to all believers. I believe that Texas was built upon the family values and integrity and personal responsibility that was lived out as an example by Christ. The more we emulate His life and govern by His statutes, the better all lives here will be.

ABOUT YOU

When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and immigration, which of the following best describes you overall?

Conservative

Please provide publicly available information validating your answer to the previous question.

There are years of articles and sermons at the church website and our youtube channel. ssfb.net will take you to the links to much of what I have taught over the past 20 years.

What education or experience qualifies you to hold the office for which you seek election?

I have held leadership positions in Fortune 500 companies and have represented said companies all over the world. I have also been a youth pastor and senior pastor for over twenty years. I state all this to point out that I have been actively working in people's lives and reconciling human problems and conditions for many years, and believe that with my studies and experience I can bring to the office of state senator attributes of integrity and sound moral conviction for 'We the People' and the law by which this great state was founded.

Have you ever been convicted of a felony or been penalized for sexual misconduct? If so, please explain.

No

Is there anything else you would like voters to know about you?

As Texas Goes, So Goes the Nation. Texas, I believe, sits on a precipice. She can fall to the wave of immorality and lack of integrity that is sweeping our nation, or people can stand up and act like adults and govern with civility and godliness. Lasting decisions are those that are not done through emotions but sitting down and intelligently conversing and coming to the mature decision that reaches to the true issue being discussed. I believe that I can help fulfill that role if elected into office.

JUDICIAL PHILOSOPHY

I support the use of Sharia law as a basis for legislation and judicial decisions in the United States.

Strongly Disagree

CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY

Mandatory minimum sentencing should be required and enforced for violent crimes.

Disagree

2ND AMENDMENT

Should teachers be allowed to carry guns at school?

Yes

What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?

The only restrictions that should be in place are those that keep firearms out of the hands of those who have been convicted of: committing violent acts against others, making criminal threats of violence, gun-related crimes, or adjudicated as mentally unstable - all of which respecting the right to due process. If someone has knowingly broken the law, such as murder, knowing that the consequences would be to lose their firearms then that was a choice that they made.

OTHER IMPORTANT ISSUES

People should be able to vote without photo identification.

Strongly Disagree

I support the legalization of recreational marijuana.

Agree

The Electoral College should be abolished.

Strongly Disagree

In priority order, what three areas of legislation do you propose to author or sponsor if elected?

1. Focus on Adoption and stop any tax money going to abortion 2. Religious Freedom 3. Education- making ways where all people can choose where to send their children, rather than just the elite. It is difficult to get our young people from less affluent households to critically think through the issues if all they know is a government indoctrination

Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?

I do not believe it is. The very ones who continue to try and use racism are the ones whom I believe are the biggest domestic threat. If people would quit bringing up race in our political conversations, those who actually subscribe to that way of thinking would be a minority that would dwindle on the vine. Sure racism exists, however it is because there are those who keep stoking that fire to stay in office and promote a racist agenda.
