Chemical abortion drugs should meet essential safety standards (such as in-person consultation with a medical doctor) and require reporting to gather evidence on reactions and outcomes.

Strongly Agree

Strongly Agree

I support 'aid in dying' laws which legalize assisted suicide and euthanasia.

Strongly Disagree

Strongly Disagree

Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive taxpayer funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).

Strongly Agree

Taxpayers should not be forced to fund organizations that administer services related to abortion. As a member of the NC House, I voted to provide funding for maternity clinics that support pregnant mothers.

ECONOMY

Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.

Strongly Agree

As a member of the NC House, I have voted to lower taxes and simplify the tax code, allowing hard-working people to keep more of the money they earn. This approach has helped NC become rated the "Best State for Business" according to CNBC. I have also cosponsored legislation to prevent the government from taking private property without just compensation.

What is your position on the minimum wage?

The government should allow wages to be driven by private enterprise and productivity. When our economy grows, more jobs will be created and wages will increase naturally in the free market.

Should environmental and social issues, like ESG (environmental, social, and governance) ratings, be used as criteria in deciding where to invest public monies?

No

As a member of the NC House, I worked to enact a law that prevents government agencies from making investment and employment decisions based on ESG. If elected Labor Commission, I will oppose any efforts from the federal government to promote ESG through the labor market.

RELIGIOUS LIBERTY

Under what circumstances can government close churches?

None. There is no circumstance in which the government should close churches. Religious freedom is a right that is protected by the US Constitution. As a member of the NC House, I voted to restrict executive orders to 30 days, at which point those orders must be submitted to the Council of State for approval. If elected to serve on the Council of State, I would vote to oppose any executive order that would close churches.

Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.

Strongly Disagree

This is a matter that should be left to the private sector and the free market.

HEALTHCARE

What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D) Taxpayer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be defunded.

C - The government should provide a safety to those who are truly in need but health insurance should be predominantly driven by the free market.

Under what circumstances (if any) should a government, school, or employer be allowed to require vaccinations?

I believe vaccinations should be a personal decision that is made between a person and their health care provider.

NATIONAL SECURITY

The Chinese Communist Party poses serious military, cyber security, intellectual property, and global economic threats to the United States.

Strongly Agree

As a member of the NC House, I sponsored legislation that would ban China from acquiring land in NC. This is important to protect our agriculture industry, our military bases, and our national security.

Is the United States' relationship with Israel important, and if so why?

Yes. Israel is a friend and ally that supports democracy and individual freedom. It is in our national security interest to support them, especially as they are grappling with attacks from a terrorist organization. I have visited Israel and I have seen first-hand how much they support our country and view us as an ally on the world stage.

EDUCATION

The state should fund education by allowing dollars to follow the child through programs which protect parents' freedom to choose their child's school – public, private, or homeschool.

Strongly Agree

As a member of the NC House, I have sponsored and voted for legislation that has expanded school choice. This includes preserving the right to homeschool; establishing and expanding the Opportunity Scholarship program; creating an ESA program; and enhancing the ability of charter schools to operate.

No healthcare diagnosis or treatment, whether mental, reproductive, or otherwise, should be given to a child without first receiving written consent from the parent unless an emergency situation arises risking immediate death.

Strongly Agree

It is common sense that a parent should be involved in a decision of this nature. Parents, not the government, should be the primary caretaker for their children.

Children are the most vulnerable members of society and must be protected from abuse, including gender ideology, grooming, and bodily mutilation.

Strongly Agree

As a member of the NC House, I voted to ban minors from having gender transition procedures. This bill is now law, as the NC General Assembly successfully overrode the governor's veto. We also took steps to protect children in grades K-4 from instruction that is not age appropriate.

EQUALITY

Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?

No, we are not a racist country. We should oppose all forms of racism when it arises, but our nation is not plagued with systemic racism.

I agree with Critical Race Theory (CRT) which asserts that the institutions in the United States are fundamentally racist.

Strongly Disagree

ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT

Which comes closest to your view? (Select all that apply) A) Stricter environmental laws and regulations cost too many jobs and hurt the economy. B) Stricter environmental laws and regulations are worth the cost. C) Stricter environmental laws undermine U.S. energy independence and deter development of reliable electricity sources. D) Climate change is real and requires urgent policy action.
