QUESTIONNAIRE
RIGHT TO LIFE
Human life begins at conception and deserves legal protection at every stage until natural death.
Strongly Agree
Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive taxpayer funds or grants from federal, state, or local governments.
Strongly Agree
Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?
To save the Mother's life
ECONOMY
It is the government’s responsibility to be sure everyone has a livable income.
Disagree
Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.
Strongly Agree
Congress should pass a balanced budget amendment to the Constitution.
Strongly Agree
What is the best way to bring down unemployment?
Making different types of educational facilities available to the people. Expanding our vocational technical schools in order to give an individual the opportunity to train into a new field of expertise. The key is to provide different avenues that an individual can take.
What role should government play in boosting the economy?
Government should provide a level playing field for companies to conduct business in our State. The ITEP (Industrial Tax Exemption Program) should have performance levels that companies have to attain to keep their exemptions. Government should provide proper funding levels for education. I believe an educated workforce will attract companies to conduct business in our State.
RELIGIOUS LIBERTY
Governments should not discriminate against individuals, organizations or small businesses because of their belief that marriage is only a union of one man and one woman.
Strongly Agree
Governments should define marriage as between one man and one woman; no other definition of marriage should be legalized or supported with taxpayer or public funds.
Strongly Agree
Religious liberty is at risk in the United States and deserves the highest level of protection in the law.
Strongly Agree
HEALTHCARE
It is the government’s responsibility to be sure everyone has health insurance.
Disagree
How would you promote healthcare coverage that is adequate, affordable and accessible for all?
I would support legislation that would encourage more companies to do business in Louisiana. I would also want the legislature to hold the Commissioner of Insurance and the agency to develop higher requirements on insurance carriers before they approve any increase in the cost of insurance.
NATIONAL SECURITY
I am in favor of construction of a wall and other necessary infrastructure on our border that gives complete control over entering and exiting the United States.
Neutral
I support the use of Sharia law as a basis for legislation and judicial decisions in the United States.
Strongly Disagree
The best way to maintain peace is through a strong military.
Agree
State and federal funds should be denied to any public or private entity, including but not limited to sanctuary cities, that are not in compliance with immigration laws.
Strongly Agree
EDUCATION
Tuition-free public education should be guaranteed through college.
Agree
VALUES
Judeo-Christian values established a framework of morality which permitted our system of limited government.
Agree
Parents should be the primary authority in decisions affecting their minor children.
Strongly Agree
The LGBTQ+ political agenda poses a threat to First Amendment freedoms of speech, expression and religious exercise.
Disagree
I support expanding protections in employment and accommodations based on sexual orientation, gender identity or gender expression.
Disagree
If children are given instruction in sex education in public schools, it should not express a preference for abstinence but should be comprehensive, offering discussions on various types of sexual orientations and behaviors plus all types of contraceptives.
Agree
What in the nature of mankind caused America’s Founders to carefully define, separate, and limit powers in the Constitution?
They wanted to insure that the separation of powers was well protected so that no particular branch of government would be able to take control of the Country. The separation of powers has provided a well balanced government for the people.
Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
I have been a Catholic for my entire life. I do believe in the Lord. Also, I have high Family values which results in a close Family. We have respect for people that have high Family values. High moral characteristics are important to me. Having the experience of LOSING my oldest Daughter at the age of 52 (passed away July 15, 2019) has tested my religious beliefs to the max. Without our strong religious background, a difficult time in my life would be devastating. The Lord has brought my entire Family even CLOSER TOGETHER. The LOVE for each other is unbelievable today.
ABOUT YOU
I voted in these elections:
2012 Primary, 2012 General Election, 2014 Primary, 2014 General Election, 2016 Primary, 2016 General Election, 2018 Primary, 2018 General Election
When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and immigration, which of the following best describes you overall?
Conservative
Please provide publicly available information validating your answer to the previous question.
I feel that my voting record speaks for itself. I registered myself as a Democrat at the age of 18. The "D" behind my name does not affect me when it comes time to vote on legislation that favors the other political party. I consider myself as a conservative person. I do cross party lines on some issues, because I look at how legislation affects people and businesses. Then, I make the decisions based on what can improve the people's quality of life and I look at improving the business climate where it is applicable.
What education or experience qualifies you to hold the office for which you seek election?
It first starts with my parents efforts to instill in me the true meaning of having Family values and having the right attitude towards other people and work. My 4 years in the U.S. Air Force were extremely productive. From receiving great technical and discipline training while serving my Country and being in the Viet Nam War, these experiences have given me a greater appreciation for our Country and the Constitution. I worked for 8 years as a radio technician for the local telephone company. I was self employed in the telecommunications business for over 25 years. The past 25 years, I have been in the radio broadcasting industry as an owner of 3 radio stations that serve their respective communities. We have worked with local governments, businesses and the people. I am currently serving as the State Representative for District 54. As a senior member of several committees (Natural Resources, Transportation, Agriculture and Veterans Affairs Vice-Chairman), I am prepared to serve.

Is there anything else you would like voters to know about you?
I have dedicated nearly 12 years of my life to Public Service as a State Representative. I am committed and ready to serve our people and businesses of the District. My Family knows how much time is required to properly serve the people as a Representative and now as a SENATOR. I am prepared and ready to serve you.
CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY
I support the death penalty.
Agree
Mandatory minimum sentencing should be required and enforced for violent crimes.
Strongly Agree
2ND AMENDMENT
More restrictive gun control is needed to protect public safety.
Disagree
OTHER IMPORTANT ISSUES
