QUESTIONNAIRE

RIGHT TO LIFE

Under what circumstances should an elective abortion be allowed?

In medical situations that can cause harm or death to the mother and/or fetus. In cases of rape and incest, abortion should be permitted. I believe a woman has a right to determine if she wants to continue a pregnancy.

Chemical abortion drugs should meet essential safety standards (such as in-person consultation with a medical doctor) and require reporting to gather evidence on reactions and outcomes.

Strongly Agree

Medication abortion has been shown to be safe and effective but should be done with the supervision of a medical doctor.

Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive taxpayer funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).

Strongly Disagree

No abortions have been performed in Missouri since the trigger ban legislation took effect. Denying funds to a provider like Planned Parenthood, denies access to healthcare for poor women who rely on Medicaid for healthcare. Women's health care is provided through wellness screenings (i.e. breast exams, pap smears) and other routine medical procedures for women are performed at Planned Parenthood.

I support 'aid in dying' laws which legalize assisted suicide and euthanasia.

Neutral

ECONOMY

Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.

Strongly Agree

What is your position on the minimum wage?

Currently, Missouri minimum wage is $12.30 per hour. The federal minimum wage remains at $7.25 per hour. Both are inefficient as living wages. I support Proposition A, which raises the minimum wage to $15 and guarantees paid sick leave to workers.

Should environmental and social issues, like ESG (environmental, social, and governance) ratings, be used as criteria in deciding where to invest public monies?

Yes

I believe the boards and trustees that manage pension funds should be allowed to invest and manage the funds as what is in the best interest of the fund. ESG funds could be in various investment portfolios offered by money managers. Each pension plan/system is unique in its own structure. No two retirement plans are the same and there is no "one size fits all" when it comes to investment strategies.

RELIGIOUS LIBERTY

Under what circumstances can government close churches?

I do not believe a government can constitutionally close a church as Americans are guaranteed religious freedom in the First Amendment.

Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.

Strongly Agree

If you are providing a public service/accommodation, you should do so for all.

HEALTHCARE

What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D) Taxpayer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be defunded.

B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options.

Under what circumstances (if any) should a government, school, or employer be allowed to require vaccinations?

Vaccine mandates raised civil liberties concerns, but that does not mean that all vaccine mandates are impermissible. People have a right to make their own health care decisions, but there are circumstances in which vaccine mandates may be necessary

NATIONAL SECURITY

The Chinese Communist Party poses serious military, cyber security, intellectual property, and global economic threats to the United States.

Strongly Agree

Is the United States' relationship with Israel important, and if so why?

Yes. Israel is a democracy. Many Jews live in Israel and the U.S. The U.S. was the first country to recognize Israel as a state and has been a strategic global economic partner. Israel has been a military ally and is strategic to the U.S. in the Middle East.

IMMIGRATION

The U.S. should do more to physically secure the southern border.

Strongly Agree

I agree there is a problem at the southern U.S. border, but I am concerned that the real problem is at the southern Mexican border as many of the immigrants are citizens from Central and South American countries and passing through Mexico.

EDUCATION

The state should fund education by allowing dollars to follow the child through programs which protect parents' freedom to choose their child's school – public, private, or homeschool.

Strongly Disagree

I believe school vouchers will harm traditional public schools. I do not believe that having a voucher will ensure a child can attend a private school. School vouchers take money away from your child's school.

VALUES

Children are the most vulnerable members of society and must be protected from abuse, including gender ideology, grooming, and bodily mutilation.

Neutral

I chose neutral because I do not like how this question is worded. I am particularly concerned with the inclusion of gender ideology as abuse. I am concerned with the grooming and bodily mutilation question. If you are asking if I believe in protecting transgender children... the answer is yes.

Parents should have the right to make decisions for their minor children.

Strongly Agree

Taxpayer funds should be used to provide gender transition services.

Neutral

Marriage is a God-ordained, sacred and legal union of one man and one woman. No government has the authority to alter this definition.
