QUESTIONNAIRE
RIGHT TO LIFE
Human life begins at conception and deserves legal protection at every stage until natural death.
Strongly Agree
Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive taxpayer funds or grants from federal, state, or local governments.
Strongly Agree
Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?
None
iVoterGuide Notes:
Candidate contacted iVoterGuide after the voter guide was published, and said that he intended to answer "Life of the Mother."
ECONOMY
It is the government’s responsibility to be sure everyone has a livable income.
Strongly Disagree
Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.
Strongly Agree
Congress should pass a balanced budget amendment to the Constitution.
Strongly Agree
What is the best way to bring down unemployment?
A vibrant economy that does not penalize success. Low taxes that allow for the movement of resources among free people. A deregulated economy that embraces innovation and the entrepreneurial spirit.
What role should government play in boosting the economy?
Getting out of the way. Protecting US businesses from hostility via foreign trading partners---fair trade is free trade. Making the government as small and non-intrusive as possible. Not penalizing success.
RELIGIOUS LIBERTY
Governments should not discriminate against individuals, organizations or small businesses because of their belief that marriage is only a union of one man and one woman.
Strongly Agree
Governments should define marriage as between one man and one woman; no other definition of marriage should be legalized or supported with taxpayer or public funds.
Strongly Agree
Religious liberty is at risk in the United States and deserves the highest level of protection in the law.
Strongly Agree
HEALTHCARE
It is the government’s responsibility to be sure everyone has health insurance.
Strongly Disagree
How would you promote healthcare coverage that is adequate, affordable and accessible for all?
The free market. Nearly everything the US government touches breaks. Incessant tinkering with the health care situation in our country has taken us to this brink of collapse. We need healthcare plans that are tailored to individual needs and we need competition that cuts across state lines and provides choice to consumers.
NATIONAL SECURITY
I am in favor of construction of a wall and other necessary infrastructure on our border that gives complete control over entering and exiting the United States.
Strongly Agree
I support the use of Sharia law as a basis for legislation and judicial decisions in the United States.
Strongly Disagree
The best way to maintain peace is through a strong military.
Strongly Agree
State and federal funds should be denied to any public or private entity, including but not limited to sanctuary cities, that are not in compliance with immigration laws.
Strongly Agree
EDUCATION
Tuition-free public education should be guaranteed through college.
Strongly Disagree
VALUES
Judeo-Christian values established a framework of morality which permitted our system of limited government.
Strongly Agree
Parents should be the primary authority in decisions affecting their minor children.
Strongly Agree
The LGBTQ+ political agenda poses a threat to First Amendment freedoms of speech, expression and religious exercise.
Strongly Agree
I support expanding protections in employment and accommodations based on sexual orientation, gender identity or gender expression.
Strongly Disagree
If children are given instruction in sex education in public schools, it should not express a preference for abstinence but should be comprehensive, offering discussions on various types of sexual orientations and behaviors plus all types of contraceptives.
Strongly Disagree
What in the nature of mankind caused America’s Founders to carefully define, separate, and limit powers in the Constitution?
The history of tyranny and oppression by un-elected rulers and kings and the suppression of denial of God-given rights. Our Founders understood that government left unrestrained would grow to something onerous. They placed restraints and constraints on the power of governments and intentionally framed our government so that government would be subservient to the people.
Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
I am a born again, water-baptized, Spirit-filled Evangelical Christian. I was saved at the age of 9. I believe my (and the) only path to Heaven is through the Cross of Calvary and by acceptance of the sacrifice of the Lord Jesus Christ. I believe He was born of a virgin. I believe He lived a sinless life. I believe He is the Son of God. I believe His sacrifice was and is sufficient and final. As a Christian, I also believe it is my obligation to tell others about Him and to make disciples at His direction. As an American, I firmly believe in religious freedom for all, even and especially for those with whom I disagree. We must all be free in the United States to pursue our own paths; I believe if people pursue truth, they find the Truth which is Jesus Christ.
ABOUT YOU
I voted in these elections:
2012 Primary, 2012 General Election, 2014 Primary, 2014 General Election, 2016 Primary, 2016 General Election, 2018 General Election
When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and immigration, which of the following best describes you overall?
Very Conservative
Please provide publicly available information validating your answer to the previous question.
Beyond Facebook there is no publicly available information on my range of views. I have never been in office, therefore, my views on issues are confined to my private conversations and my public persona on Facebook. My campaign material uses the following words to describe me: "Christian, Conservative, Republican." I am a Christian and am thankful Jesus saved my soul. I am a conservative because my father taught me to think for myself and I believe in conservative principles as espoused by Ronald Reagan, William F. Buckley, Thomas Sowell and others. I am a Republican because the GOP is the only home for a pro-life, pro-Constitution conservative and Christian.
What education or experience qualifies you to hold the office for which you seek election?
Education: I hold a Ph.D in Human Resource Education and Workforce Development. We need an energized technical training paradigm in Louisiana and I have a strong understanding of training the workforce. Students need to have pathways for both technical training and collegiate-education. I think my education and work background suits me for helping in this effort. Louisiana will not grow if we don't enhance our work force. Experience: I was a commissioned officer in the US Air Force for 20 years. I led large and small organizations. I understand hard work and I understand making hard decisions. Louisiana needs people who are willing to make hard decisions.
E-mail address and phone number for voters to reach you:

Is there anything else you would like voters to know about you?
I am involved in this campaign for two reasons (1) I love Louisiana; and (2) Our people deserve better than being in a State that is continually last in every major ranking. We need new ideas and a conservative, free market pathway to success. I will work hard every day. I will be easy to find. I will be on duty as a legislator. I will reflect the values of the people of the 30th District.
CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY
I support the death penalty.
Strongly Agree
Mandatory minimum sentencing should be required and enforced for violent crimes.
Neutral
2ND AMENDMENT
More restrictive gun control is needed to protect public safety.
Strongly Disagree
OTHER IMPORTANT ISSUES
People should be able to vote without photo identification.
Strongly Disagree
Gambling should be limited to existing forms and should not be de-regulated or expanded.
