QUESTIONNAIRE
RIGHT TO LIFE
Human life begins at conception and deserves legal protection at every stage until natural death.
Strongly Agree
Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive taxpayer funds or grants from federal, state, or local governments.
Strongly Agree
Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?
I can't think of any instance where adoration would be appropriate.
ECONOMY
It is the government’s responsibility to be sure everyone has a livable income.
Strongly Disagree
Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.
Strongly Agree
Congress should pass a balanced budget amendment to the Constitution.
Agree
What is the best way to bring down unemployment?
Reduce government burden on individuals and businesses which will spur economic growth and create new jobs.
What role should government play in boosting the economy?
Reduce taxation and regulations with the objective to allow free market to work and bring allow businesses to grow and expand.
RELIGIOUS LIBERTY
Governments should not discriminate against individuals, organizations or small businesses because of their belief that marriage is only a union of one man and one woman.
Strongly Agree
Governments should define marriage as between one man and one woman; no other definition of marriage should be legalized or supported with taxpayer or public funds.
Strongly Agree
Religious liberty is at risk in the United States and deserves the highest level of protection in the law.
Strongly Agree
HEALTHCARE
It is the government’s responsibility to be sure everyone has health insurance.
Strongly Disagree
How would you promote healthcare coverage that is adequate, affordable and accessible for all?
I would advocate to eliminate the artificial lines drawn by state and create regional markets. A strong, business friendly marketplace is important. I believe health coverage is most affordable when provided by employers. If people are self employed, they may look at options like Association Health Plans, faith based programs and state based reinsurance programs. As Commissioner I believe that promoting businesses working together with the insurance industry as well as the healthcare industry on policies is the best way to meet the needs of our citizens.
NATIONAL SECURITY
I am in favor of construction of a wall and other necessary infrastructure on our border that gives complete control over entering and exiting the United States.
Agree
I support the use of Sharia law as a basis for legislation and judicial decisions in the United States.
Strongly Disagree
The best way to maintain peace is through a strong military.
Strongly Agree
State and federal funds should be denied to any public or private entity, including but not limited to sanctuary cities, that are not in compliance with immigration laws.
Agree
EDUCATION
Tuition-free public education should be guaranteed through college.

VALUES
Judeo-Christian values established a framework of morality which permitted our system of limited government.
Strongly Agree
Parents should be the primary authority in decisions affecting their minor children.
Strongly Agree
The LGBTQ+ political agenda poses a threat to First Amendment freedoms of speech, expression and religious exercise.
Agree
I support expanding protections in employment and accommodations based on sexual orientation, gender identity or gender expression.
Strongly Disagree
If children are given instruction in sex education in public schools, it should not express a preference for abstinence but should be comprehensive, offering discussions on various types of sexual orientations and behaviors plus all types of contraceptives.
Disagree
What in the nature of mankind caused America’s Founders to carefully define, separate, and limit powers in the Constitution?
Original sin endemic to mankind from creation caused our founders to limit powers to individuals and separate branches of government. I believe this was one of the most important decisions our founders made.
Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
I believe in the God in the bible and the salvation plan outlined in the old and new testaments.
ABOUT YOU
I voted in these elections:
2014 Primary, 2014 General Election, 2016 Primary, 2016 General Election, 2018 Primary, 2018 General Election
When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and immigration, which of the following best describes you overall?
Very Conservative
Please provide publicly available information validating your answer to the previous question.
I have been in the insurance industry for over 20 years and believe in the free market philosophy. Further, my public donation records show that I have supported many consertative leaders in both state and federal office over the past 20+ years.
What education or experience qualifies you to hold the office for which you seek election?
My experience started within the insurance industry and is both broad and comprehensive. Born into an insurance family in DeRidder, La., I spent my formative years working in the family businesses, including Gulf Universal Holdings, which consisted of Amerisafe Insurance Company (workers’ comp) and Morris, Temple & Co., a Louisiana-based managing general agency which also provided loss prevention and third party administrative services. Over my 20+ years in the industry I have worked as an insurance agent, reinsurance intermediary, and executive management of a large commercial trucking MGA, CEO of a claims company and Exec. VP of one of the largest catastrophe claims companies in the US. I've been CEO of a company with over 250 employees and have managed multi-state offices responsible for underwriting, claims, marketing and product development. I believe this experience has prepared me to head a state department with approximately 230 employees and a budget of $30 million

Is there anything else you would like voters to know about you?
I believe that we can change our insurance marketplace by focusing on competition and the issues that need to be addressed to get new companies to start writing business in Louisiana. Legislative and regulatory requirements forcing companies to lower rates are not consistent with the principal of free market and are temporary at best.
CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY
I support the death penalty.
Agree
Mandatory minimum sentencing should be required and enforced for violent crimes.
Agree
2ND AMENDMENT
More restrictive gun control is needed to protect public safety.
Strongly Disagree
OTHER IMPORTANT ISSUES
People should be able to vote without photo identification.
Disagree
Gambling should be limited to existing forms and should not be de-regulated or expanded.
