QUESTIONNAIRE

RIGHT TO LIFE

Human life begins at conception and deserves legal protection at every stage until natural death.

Strongly Agree

Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive taxpayer funds or grants from federal, state, or local governments.

Strongly Agree

Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?

Mother's life in danger.

RELIGIOUS LIBERTY

Governments should not discriminate against individuals, organizations or small businesses because of their belief that marriage is only a union of one man and one woman.

Strongly Agree

Governments should define marriage as between one man and one woman; no other definition of marriage should be legalized or supported with taxpayer or public funds.

Strongly Agree

Religious liberty is at risk in the United States and deserves the highest level of protection in the law.

Strongly Agree

NATIONAL SECURITY

I am in favor of construction of a wall and other necessary infrastructure on our border that gives complete control over entering and exiting the United States.

Strongly Agree

I support the use of Sharia law as a basis for legislation and judicial decisions in the United States.

Strongly Disagree

The best way to maintain peace is through a strong military.

Strongly Agree

State and federal funds should be denied to any public or private entity, including but not limited to sanctuary cities, that are not in compliance with immigration laws.

Strongly Agree

HEALTHCARE

It is the government’s responsibility to be sure everyone has health insurance.

Strongly Disagree

How would you promote healthcare coverage that is adequate, affordable and accessible for all?

I would like to see small business that hire the majority of people be able to pool together in groups and shop across state lines for healthcare coverage for their employees. On their own, small businesses cannot compete with larger businesses in regard to health insurance options that are offered to employees. By being able to pool together, small business owners would be able to offer more affordable options to their employees.

ECONOMY

It is the government’s responsibility to be sure everyone has a livable income.

Strongly Disagree

Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.

Strongly Agree

Congress should pass a balanced budget amendment to the Constitution.

Strongly Agree

What is the best way to bring down unemployment?

Help create an atmosphere conducive to a good business environment by getting rid of much of the red tape and restrictions and creating a fair tax code that doesn't penalize people who take risk and become successful. By doing so more businesses will be able to start up and current businesses will be able to grow.

What role should government play in boosting the economy?

Governments on the national, state and local level should operate as efficiently as possible. When this happens taxes can be at the minimum possible to achieve the necessary services such as police and fire protection and all the basic services that government should provide. If there are programs that allow tax credits to businesses, those credits should be offered to businesses of all sizes.

EDUCATION

Tuition-free public education should be guaranteed through college.

Strongly Disagree

CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY

I support the death penalty.

Strongly Agree

Mandatory minimum sentencing should be required and enforced for violent crimes.

Strongly Agree

2ND AMENDMENT

More restrictive gun control is needed to protect public safety.

Strongly Disagree

OTHER IMPORTANT ISSUES

People should be able to vote without photo identification.

Strongly Disagree

Gambling should be limited to existing forms and should not be de-regulated or expanded.

Agree

ABOUT YOU

I voted in these elections:

2012 Primary, 2012 General Election, 2014 Primary, 2014 General Election, 2016 Primary, 2016 General Election, 2018 Primary, 2018 General Election

When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and immigration, which of the following best describes you overall?

Conservative

Please provide publicly available information validating your answer to the previous question.

I don't know where any public information is regarding my views.

What education or experience qualifies you to hold the office for which you seek election?

I was the in the printing industry for 38 years with 28 of those years as an owner. Ownership of a business teaches a person many of the skills necessary to be involved in government. You learn how to negotiate, communicate and perhaps most importantly to work with people of all walks of life. I served on many different boards of directors and many of those boards I served as chairman. Some of the boards were business related such as the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of a hospital and Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce. Some were community oriented such as The United Way. All of those organizations had a common denominator and that is they each consisted of groups of people. They were each diverse in makeup and that taught me how to get things accomplished through working with people that did not share the same views politically or religiously. This is an extremely important trait in good government.

VALUES

Judeo-Christian values established a framework of morality which permitted our system of limited government.

Agree

Parents should be the primary authority in decisions affecting their minor children.

Strongly Agree

The LGBTQ+ political agenda poses a threat to First Amendment freedoms of speech, expression and religious exercise.

Strongly Agree

I support expanding protections in employment and accommodations based on sexual orientation, gender identity or gender expression.

Strongly Disagree

If children are given instruction in sex education in public schools, it should not express a preference for abstinence but should be comprehensive, offering discussions on various types of sexual orientations and behaviors plus all types of contraceptives.

Strongly Disagree

What in the nature of mankind caused America’s Founders to carefully define, separate, and limit powers in the Constitution?

I believe that America's Founders set the constitution as they did because they believed that there would be a time that one person or a group of people would try and take over the country. They wanted the people of America to control their own destiny and not answer to those in power. They wanted to ensure that the people would be in power. The way they set up the constitution guarantees that.

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

I am a member of a Southern Baptist Church. I believe that Christ came to earth, died on a cross and was resurrected from death as a sacrifice for the sins of mankind. I believe that whoever calls on Christ as their savior will be forgiven of sin and will be called to heaven upon leaving this earth.
