QUESTIONNAIRE
RIGHT TO LIFE
Human life deserves legal protection from conception until natural death.
Strongly Agree
The lives of human embryos created through artificial methods ought to be protected from purposeful destruction.
Strongly Agree
Under what circumstances should an elective abortion be allowed?
None
Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should receive taxpayer funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).
Strongly Disagree
The Comstock Act, which bans interstate transportation of abortion-inducing drugs, should be enforced.
Strongly Agree
ECONOMY
Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.
Strongly Agree
People who can afford to pay more taxes should do so in order to provide relief for working families.
Strongly Disagree
The government should cut spending in order to reduce the national debt.
Strongly Agree
List your top 3-5 priorities to eliminate government waste.
I'll go after fraud and improper payments aggressively, especially in Medicare, Medicaid, and pandemic relief money still hemorrhaging taxpayer dollars years later. I'll continue DOGE's efforts to keep American tax dollars out of the hands of foreign adversaries. I'd rather see appropriations reform that holds funding at current levels while Congress does the real work of writing a budget, instead of forcing a shutdown or cramming last-minute priorities into a continuing resolution.
RELIGIOUS LIBERTY
Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.
Strongly Disagree
What does "separation of church and state" mean to you?
The Founders wrote the First Amendment to keep government out of the pulpit. They never meant to scrub faith from public life. I grew up believing faith and public service go hand in hand, and I carry that into every session I walk into. Churches deserve protection from government interference, and so does my right to bring my values to the job.
HEALTHCARE
What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D) Taxpayer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be defunded.
C
The government should keep a database of people with various ongoing medical illnesses to assess the economic burden of treatment.
Strongly Disagree
NATIONAL SECURITY
With regard to America's foreign policy, which view most closely resembles yours: A) The United States should intervene whenever freedom is threatened. B) The United States should selectively help countries trying to grow democracy and fight tyranny. C) The United States has become too involved in others' policies and should remain focused on issues regarding our own sovereignty unless in imminent danger. D) The United States should stay out of foreign conflicts completely.
C
The Chinese Communist Party poses serious military, cyber security, intellectual property, and global economic threats to the United States.
Strongly Agree
Is the United States' relationship with Israel important, and if so why?
Yes, Israel is our strongest and most important ally in the Middle East and a critical partner on intelligence, security, and defense. A strong Israel keeps Iran and other bad actors in check and protects American interests in the region.
Islamic terrorism is a threat to the United States' national security.
Strongly Agree
IMMIGRATION
Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?
I believe in legal immigration done the right way. People who want to come to America, follow the process, and contribute to this country have always been part of what makes us strong. What I won't support is an open border that lets anyone in without a background check, without a process, and without accountability. Criminals don't get in, no matter how they try to apply. Secure the border first, enforce the laws already on the books, and fix a broken legal immigration system.
I support the existence of sanctuary cities to protect undocumented persons.
Strongly Disagree
EDUCATION
I support eliminating the U.S. Department of Education and giving control back to states and communities.
Strongly Agree
Foreign governments should be prohibited from funding American education.
Strongly Agree
VALUES
Attempts to physically or socially transition a child to the opposite sex constitute child abuse.
Strongly Agree
I 100% agree. I made the motion to bring Louisiana's bill protecting kids from these procedures back from the dead, and when Governor Edwards vetoed it, I led the effort to override him and carried it on the Senate floor. We didn't let a veto or a handful of committee votes stand in the way of protecting children. I fought for that bill from the moment it was left for dead to the moment it became law, and I'll keep fighting for kids over those who want to mutilate our children.
Marriage is a God-ordained, sacred and legal union of one man and one woman. No government has the authority to alter this definition.
Strongly Agree
Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
My values are grounded first and foremost in my Christian faith and the belief that we are called to love God, love our neighbors, serve others, and stand firmly for what is right. I believe the traditional family is the foundation of a strong society, that parents—not government—should have the primary responsibility for raising and educating their children, and that every human life has God-given value and dignity. As a husband, father, Christian, veteran, and public servant, I try to live by the principles of faith, family, freedom, service, and personal responsibility. Those values guide the decisions I make and the kind of country I want to leave to the next generation.
ELECTIONS AND VOTING
People should be able to vote without photo identification.
Strongly Disagree
EQUALITY
Biological males should not be allowed to participate in women's sports or occupy biological women's spaces whether it be bathrooms, locker rooms, sorority houses, women's shelters, or prison.
Strongly Agree
ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT
What do you believe is the most reliable energy source that will supply the growing demand for electricity?
Natural gas should anchor our energy strategy, it's the most reliable and affordable option we have. I support an all-of-the-above approach, but reliability and affordability come first. I authored SB 354 of 2022, Louisiana's Consumer Fuel Choice Act
ABOUT YOU
Have you ever been penalized for sexual misconduct in either civil or criminal court? If so, please explain.
No
Have you ever been convicted of a felony? If so, please explain.
No
When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?
Very Conservative
CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY
Government has a responsibility to protect children from sexual exploitation during online activities.
Strongly Agree
2ND AMENDMENT
What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?
I will always defend the Second Amendment for law-abiding citizens. Felons and violent criminals gave up that privilege when they broke the law, and they shouldn't get it back just because reformers want to rewrite the rules. Punishing responsible gun owners for the actions of criminals is backwards, and I won't support it.
