I have consistently voted for smaller budgets and money saving matters while serving as Vice Chairman of the Appropriations Committee for the last four years. Specifically, I have voted for budgets and bills to limit spending to 98% of the recognized revenue in case there is a mid-year short fall. I have also supported bills to allow the Legislative auditor access to tax records of Medicaid recipients to confirm if they are eligible for benefits. I have also voted for education bills to expand choice and charter school opportunities for K-12 education.
What education or experience qualifies you to hold the office for which you seek election?
I have been in the U.S. Navy for 28 years as a JAG Officer which has helped me to develop leadership and teamwork skills. I have also gained great experience by serving as the State Representative for District 70 for the past 12 years.
