OTHER INFORMATION

QUESTIONNAIRE

RIGHT TO LIFE

Human life begins at conception and deserves legal protection at every stage until natural death.

Strongly Agree

Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive taxpayer funds or grants from federal, state, or local governments.

Strongly Agree

I support the Born Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act, which requires health care providers to provide life-saving treatment for infants who survive an attempted abortion.

Strongly Agree

Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?

I don't personally favor any abortions. I will support any legislation that limits abortion in any way. I support saving any unborn child's life by any means possible. This is not caving but is akin trying to save all lives possible in the event of a shipwreck. Save as many as you can. To adopt an all or none approach is not humane.

ECONOMY

It is the government’s responsibility to ensure everyone has a livable income.

Disagree

Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.

Strongly Agree

What government spending would you reduce in order to balance the budget?

We have bloated bureaucracies throughout the Federal government that fail to deliver an acceptable return on investment of the tax funds appropriated to them. You notice that I mentioned Federal. I serve as a State Senator which has no impact on Federal appropriations. We are fortunate in Georgia that we have a state constitutional requirement that we must balance our annual budget, which we do. The Federal government would be well advised to copy our practice.

RELIGIOUS LIBERTY

Governments should not discriminate against individuals, organizations or small businesses because of their belief that marriage is only a union of one man and one woman.

Strongly Agree

Governments should define marriage as between one man and one woman; no other definition of marriage should be legalized or supported with taxpayer or public funds.

Agree

Religious liberty is at risk in the United States and deserves the highest level of protection in the law.

Strongly Agree

I promise to protect the freedom of Christians to share the Gospel and to practice Biblical principles.

Yes

What does "separation of church and state" mean to you?

I don't believe the term "separation of church and state" is in the Constitution of the USA. I do believe that the Constitution clearly states and the framers intended that there would be no establishment of a state church of the USA as had been the practice in prior European history. It is clear from the record that the framers desired for churches to flourish and have a positive restraining and instructive impact on our fledgling nation. But, they had grave concerns over the establishment of a church OF the state.

HEALTHCARE

It is the government’s responsibility to ensure everyone has health insurance.

Disagree

How would you promote healthcare coverage that is adequate, affordable and accessible for all?

return it to the private sector and provide more 1st tier treatment through clinics that have lower overhead costs.

NATIONAL SECURITY

The best way to maintain peace is through a strong military.

Strongly Agree

IMMIGRATION

I am in favor of construction of a wall and other necessary infrastructure on our border that gives complete control over entering and exiting the United States.

Strongly Agree

State and federal funds should be denied to any public or private entity, including but not limited to sanctuary cities, that are not in compliance with immigration laws.

Agree

Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?

Those who are qualified and are admitted in accordance with and by the fulfilling of the requirements within the guidelines of our Federal immigration Code as written.

EDUCATION

Taxpayer-funded public education should be guaranteed through college.

Disagree

VALUES

Judeo-Christian values established a framework of morality which is necessary for our system of limited government.

Strongly Agree

I support adding sexual orientation, gender identity and gender expression as protected classes in non-discrimination laws.

Disagree

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

I believe there is only one God and He has created all things. He was the God who called Abraham and established a royal priesthood of believers who were saved by faith and not by works or blood linage. The Bible Is God's Holy Word in its entirety and was written by men who were inspired by the Holy Spirit. Jesus, the Son of God, the second person of the Trinity was God incarnate. Jesus died for the sins of the believer and makes full atonement for God's judgement on their behalf. He reigns on high and will eternally be surrounded by His believers. He is the Way, the Truth and the Life and no one comes to the Father but through Him. My hope and belief in eternal life is built on nothing less than Jesus blood and his righteousness.

ABOUT YOU

When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and immigration, which of the following best describes you overall?

Conservative

Please provide publicly available information validating your answer to the previous question.

Serving 22 years in elected office. The record speaks for itself.

What education or experience qualifies you to hold the office for which you seek election?

51 years as a small business owner and attending the school of hard knocks with a few courses in poor judgement that teach the need for a thoughtful approach and judicious actions.

Have you ever been convicted of a felony or been penalized for sexual misconduct? If so, please explain.

No

Is there anything else you would like voters to know about you?

If the voters choose to reelect me I can assure them that I will represent them and act on their behalf to the absolute best of my ability. I have never kept the salary that I earned as an elected official but have always returned it as an investment in the the education of school children. In the 22 years that I have served in public office, I have given over $400.000.00 toward the education of our future generations.

JUDICIAL PHILOSOPHY

I support the use of Sharia law as a basis for legislation and judicial decisions in the United States.

Strongly Disagree

CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY

Mandatory minimum sentencing should be required and enforced for violent crimes.

Strongly Agree

2ND AMENDMENT

Should teachers be allowed to carry guns at school?

No Answer

What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?

Those who have been convicted of committing felonious violent crime and those plotting to overthrow the United States of America should be restricted from firearm ownership.

OTHER IMPORTANT ISSUES

People should be able to vote without photo identification.

Strongly Disagree

I support the legalization of recreational marijuana.

Strongly Disagree

The Electoral College should be abolished.

Disagree

In priority order, what three areas of legislation do you propose to author or sponsor if elected?

I have sponsored and passed many pieces of legislation during the last ten years that I served in the Georgia Senate. Most have dealt with either education, both K-12 and adult, or business and commerce related issues that supported a free marketplace and private enterprise. Currently I don't have any specific legislation in mind but would anticipate that future bills would deal with the same areas of expertise.

Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?

Racism is a threat to domestic peace and tranquility. We have to realize that racist behavior is a by product of original sin and our accompanying sin nature. Individuals need to be evaluated on the basis of their actions instead of their origin, beliefs or skin color. Disliking an individual because of their actions does not, in my mind, constitute racism. If a person harms another person or damages or destroys their property, then the person causing the injury or damage should be charged under the criminal code. If a group of people or an organization were to act in a way that would pose a direct threat to our national security or stability, those parties should be charged with insurrection.
