OTHER INFORMATION

QUESTIONNAIRE*

*Additional information was received after the evaluation was assigned and was not considered in the Panel Evaluations, therefore it is for additional educational purposes only.
RIGHT TO LIFE

Under what circumstances should an elective abortion be allowed?

rape, incest and life of mother at risk

Chemical abortion drugs should meet essential safety standards (such as in-person consultation with a medical doctor) and require reporting to gather evidence on reactions and outcomes.

Strongly Agree

I support 'aid in dying' laws which legalize assisted suicide and euthanasia.

Strongly Disagree

Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive taxpayer funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).

Strongly Agree

RELIGIOUS LIBERTY

Under what circumstances can government close churches?

There may be an There may be an extremely rare situation that allows for the recommendation of such, but I cannot think of one. Cannot foresee a situation where a governmental body could demand closure. Would likely be a violation of the 1st Amendment.

Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.

Strongly Disagree

Should religious schools which accept state funds be allowed to only admit families and students who agree to adhere to their statement of faith?

Yes

If the state disagrees with this position, they can withdraw funding.

NATIONAL SECURITY

The Chinese Communist Party poses serious military, cyber security, intellectual property, and global economic threats to the United States.

Strongly Agree

Is the United States' relationship with Israel important, and if so why?

Critical. Shared ideology.

HEALTHCARE

What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D) Taxpayer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be defunded.

I am between C & D. Caid and Care are foundational problems. There are better alternatives to providing care for individuals. I have worked in the healthcare industry for 35 years advising hospital executives in all US States and 5 countries. There is not a short answer to this question. But know our current method of paying for, costing, pricing and financing health care services is unsustainable.

Under what circumstances (if any) should a government, school, or employer be allowed to require vaccinations?

Religious and medical exemptions should be removed, because no one should be required to inject a foreign substance into their body without their permission, under any circumstance. Therefore, exemptions should not be necessary. No means No.

ECONOMY

Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.

Strongly Agree

What is your position on the minimum wage?

Markets should establish wage rates, not governments

Should environmental and social issues, like ESG (environmental, social, and governance) ratings, be used as criteria in deciding where to invest public monies?

Choose not to answer

Depends on the credentials and who is the rating agency

EDUCATION

The state should fund education by allowing dollars to follow the child through programs which protect parents' freedom to choose their child's school – public, private, or homeschool.

Strongly Agree

CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY

I support redirecting funds from police departments to community programs.

Strongly Disagree

2ND AMENDMENT

What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?

I support constitutional carry. Convicted felons should not be able to own a firearm.

ABOUT YOU

What do you think is the general purpose of government?

National defense, rule of law established, and regulate interstate and foreign commerce. I am a textualist and lean into the US Constituion for guidance in this area. Big fan of the 10th Amendment. Local government governs best. Less is generally better than more.

Have you ever been convicted of a felony? If so, please explain.

No

Have you ever been penalized for sexual misconduct in either civil or criminal court? If so, please explain.

No

When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?

Conservative

VALUES

Taxpayer funds should be used to provide gender transition services.

Strongly Disagree

No healthcare diagnosis or treatment, whether mental, reproductive, or otherwise, should be given to a child without first receiving written consent from the parent unless an emergency situation arises risking immediate death.

Strongly Agree

Children are the most vulnerable members of society and must be protected from abuse, including gender ideology, grooming, and bodily mutilation.

Strongly Agree

Marriage is a God-ordained, sacred and legal union of one man and one woman. No government has the authority to alter this definition.

Strongly Agree

Churches can determine and set their own policies, not government.

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

Baptised Christian and active member for past 32 years at Davidson United Methodist Church. Average attendance 45 weeks per year.

ELECTIONS AND VOTING

Voting absentee by mail ballot should be limited to those meeting at least one of the following criteria: 1) 65 years of age or older on Election Day, 2) sick or disabled, 3) expecting to give birth within three weeks before or after Election Day, or 4) confirmed to be absent from the county of registration during voting.

Neutral

Generally agree with parameters outlined. But, more details need defined before this can be answered. I generally support four factor authentication including 3 biometrics of a voter using foundation of blockchain and ID Mgt s/w casting a ballot electronically from a smart phone. More secure than paper. No early voting period. No same day registration. Voting period should be a 72 hour window.

EQUALITY

Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?

Racism is a problem in the USA. Equality of opportunity we should always strive for. Forced equality of outcomes needs to recognized as wrong. Making decisions and judging people based upon the color of their skin is always wrong. We are all human beings.

I agree with Critical Race Theory (CRT) which asserts that the institutions in the United States are fundamentally racist.

Strongly Disagree

Biological males should not be allowed to participate in women's sports or occupy biological women's spaces whether it be bathrooms, locker rooms, sorority houses, women's shelters, or prison.

Strongly Agree

ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT

Which comes closest to your view? (Select all that apply) A) Stricter environmental laws and regulations cost too many jobs and hurt the economy. B) Stricter environmental laws and regulations are worth the cost. C) Stricter environmental laws undermine U.S. energy independence and deter development of reliable electricity sources. D) Climate change is real and requires urgent policy action.

C is the base answer with granularity and specificity required. USA needs a reasonable policy that ensures energy independence now and in the future.
