QUESTIONNAIRE
RIGHT TO LIFE
Human life begins at conception and deserves legal protection at every stage until natural death.
Agree
Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive taxpayer funds or grants from federal, state, or local governments.
Strongly Agree
Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?
Rape, incest
ECONOMY
It is the government’s responsibility to be sure everyone has a livable income.
Strongly Disagree
Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.
Strongly Agree
Congress should pass a balanced budget amendment to the Constitution.
Strongly Agree
Socialism provides a robust foundation for a stable economy.
Strongly Disagree
What is the best way to bring down unemployment?
Provide training and opportunity to high school students to initiate a desire to live better, and work for the standard of living so easily attainable today. Work, save, be healthy, such is the path to independence and personal security,
What role should government play in boosting the economy?
Foster and and sustain an environment where people want to invest their lives and Capitol toward earning a living. Decay will rot an apple from the inside, and one bad apple rots the whole barrel. Government needs to be about taking care of community owned infrastructure and resources, not trying to solve every problem in every situation for every taxpayer. Government, especially at the local level, at times needs to just as Nancy Reagan said about drug use - “just say no.”
RELIGIOUS LIBERTY
Governments should not discriminate against individuals, organizations or business owners because of their deeply held religious beliefs.
Strongly Agree
Governments should not penalize those who define marriage as between one man and one woman; no other definition of marriage should be legalized or supported with taxpayer or public funds.
Strongly Agree
Religious liberty is at risk in the United States and deserves the highest level of protection in the law.
Strongly Agree
HEALTHCARE
It is the government’s responsibility to be sure everyone has health insurance.
Strongly Disagree
How would you promote healthcare coverage that is adequate, affordable and accessible for all?
Basic healthcare should be available to all in this day and age. And I believe it basically is already to those who seek it. Advanced, long term care is another issue all together, considering the burden and cost to families. The human body is not meant to go on, and on, and on. There is a time where loved ones must let go.
NATIONAL SECURITY
I am in favor of construction of a wall and other necessary infrastructure on our border that gives complete control over entering and exiting the United States.
Strongly Agree
I support sanctuary cities.
Strongly Disagree
Islamic law (Sharia) should take precedence over national and state laws where there are Islamic majority communities in the U. S.
Strongly Disagree
The best way to maintain peace is through a strong military.
Strongly Agree
EDUCATION
Tuition-free public education should be guaranteed through college.
Strongly Disagree
VALUES
Biblical values established a framework of morality which permitted our system of limited government.
Strongly Agree
Any teaching to children on sex education in public schools must include all contraceptive methods, and should not show preference to abstinence.
Strongly Disagree
People should be allowed to use public restrooms, showers, and changing rooms based on "gender identity."
Strongly Disagree
Free speech is under attack on public university and college campuses.
Strongly Agree
Parents should be the primary authority in decisions affecting their minor children.
Strongly Agree
What in the nature of mankind caused America’s Founders to carefully define, separate, and limit powers in the Constitution?
Fear of over reaching government into the freedom and lives of its citizens.
Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
There is one God, Jesus is real and a part of my every day life. It took my many years to understand “once saved, always saved,” and I believe that to be true. I walk among many casting blame about everything and simply tell folks, I’m too busy carrying the crosses on my back to worrry about counting the crosses on someone else. We are but a mist and then we are gone. Count your many blessings, name them one by one (thank you Ms Louise Benton) be thankful, joyful, (thank you Rev Bernard Nail), and move on. Live is meant to be lived.
ABOUT YOU
When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and immigration, which of the following best describes you overall?
Conservative
Please provide publicly available information validating your answer to the previous question.
We have turned our city around from the depths of burdensome debt after the crash of 2008 by living within our means, self-performing as much work as possible, scrutinizing the expenditure of every public dollar just as if was placed in the offering plate at church. Through this approach, we are rebuilding a vibrante community, a stronger city, reflected by a improvement in our bond rating from both Standard & Poor and Moody’s rating agencies. External opinions and audits demonstrate clearly a disciplined, conservative approach to local government working the way it should work.
What education or experience qualifies you to hold the office for which you seek election?
Educated in the sciences (biology, chemistry, fire science). Successful career in public safety (firefighting, industrial fire protection, hazardous materials, technical rescue, program development and delivery at local, state and national levels) Trained with legislative members earning Certified Public Manager certification, Certified Municipal Official certification and Professional Development certifications. Served as an Alderman 4 years with a 100% attendance record of service. Serving as a Mayor of a growing city (8-9-% growth rate at mid-census) for 6 years having missed only one meeting at this point in time. Serving as a church leader witnessing the growth of what the grace of God can do in a community seeking his will.

Is there anything else you would like voters to know about you?
I believe in my heart most of our problems today are because we a spoiled society, filled with people who have no knowledge of what it is like to be “without”________. Fill in the blank as you’d like. If we focused more on the blessings we have in in our life, rather than being envious of what others have a lot of our problems would vanish. I love my wife. I love my children. I love my church family and the people I serve on a daily basis. I firmly believe we are here to serve one another and it is the relationships we forge through life, sometimes through fire, sometimes through sacrifice, that will define what we are in the memories of others when we leave this physical world we inhabit for a while. May God hold and keep whoever’s eyes should read these words. Amen.
CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY
I support the death penalty.
Strongly Agree
Mandatory minimum sentencing should be required and enforced for violent crimes.
Strongly Agree
2ND AMENDMENT
More restrictive gun control is needed to protect public safety.
Agree
